Hi, I play this World of Warcraft. I got pulled into it by my roommate who plays nonstop. I'm a noob, 35 Human Mage, on Stonemaul. :katamari:

immp Jan 14, 2007 02:13 AM

anyone been to deadwind pass lately? I was farming outside the tower with my guild. There's some basement areas with lvl 65-70 ghosts that drop about 12-20s a piece plus netherweave, draenic water, super healing pots and 60+ greens. Also a group of mages out there with a new faction called the violet eye. Great fun to be had.

BucPride Jan 14, 2007 02:25 AM

Haven't been there yet, but now that you've mentioned it, I think I'll check it out with some of my guildmates. Has anyone been to the Caverns of Time yet? I was there just to look around, since I hope to be spending a lot of my instance running time there, and man, it is beautiful. You can tell Blizzard really made things look awesome and I can't wait to go back in time, being that I enjoy the Warcraft story.

I used to farm out there all the time before the BC patch went effective. I got invited to a group yesterday to farm out there some and ended up with about 4 pieces of Netherweave. The mobs hit HARD too, so having good gear is almost a definate. :P

Caverns of Time is awesome and I just go there and listen to the music.

They've also added the rep quartermasters with items to buy at the different rep levels. There's one in CoT that is an enchant for a ring.

The_Griffin Jan 14, 2007 08:32 AM

Yeah, I went to the Caverns of Time too. Oh GOD how beautiful it is... it was like being a newb Tauren Warrior stepping out of Camp Narache into the wide plains of Mulgore all over again... <3

Speaking of which, two more days until TBC, and a 3-day weekend to boot. Hopefully we can get my 53 druid friend levelled to 58 so that we can actually friggin' level to 70 together... :(

lol "Unable to validate game version"

GG blizzard on yet another "unannounced patch"

Grail Jan 14, 2007 03:34 PM

Yeah Dagget, I had that problem about two weeks ago. I got it at around 4 pm and I could not fix it until fucking 2 am in the morning after downloading a fuck load of anti-virus programs and a bunch of other shit.

The funny thing was, I can't remember what I did so I think it did it on it's own, but the launcher to the game became inactive, so I had to go in and start up WoW just by going into the folder and double clicking on the WoW icon so it didn't go to the launcher, just straight into the game.

That seemed to work for me, because everytime I got that "unable to validate" it was because I went in through the launcher.

On the official forums, there are at least 26 pages dedicated to this problem, and it's nearly a different person posting every time.

immp Jan 14, 2007 03:56 PM

I was checking out the caverns of time ....and ya fucking epic. I felt like I was watching an Imax movie or something with my widescreen monitor. Blizzard really out did themselves there. I wonder what the portal behind the big ship is. I'm guessing its the battleground they said they were putting in there.

Oh and...I must have that riftdagger thing. Oh god.

New forum background plus what the level 70 avatars look like. Not too bad.

Got my collector's edition today. Of course the servers are SWAMPED. On Thunderhorn, Outland is almost unplayable. (Outland keeps crashing, etc)

I decided to rip the soundtrack from the collector's edition. Upping it to Sendspace now. Will edit link in in a bit.

BucPride Jan 17, 2007 01:41 AM

Outland is pretty nice. When I first got home last night, SenJin was swamped with people in Hellfire Peninsula, but it eventually calmed down to the point where you can actually quest and kill mobs. During the time when HP was completely overrun, I made a Draenei alt priest. So far, I am liking the quests, and oh yeah, the Exodar is beautiful.

I also got to run through Hellfire Ramparts. Its pretty short, but has a lot of nice drops. Speaking of, all the drops, be it green or not, are massively jacked up in Outland.

immp Jan 17, 2007 01:43 AM

fucking collector's addition. I was the 11th person to pre order it at EB. They got 10 copies. So they gave me the regular version. Stupid woman in line behind me got two CE copies. I was angry. Should have been one pre order per person.

dagget Jan 17, 2007 01:44 AM

yea dude, no doubt.

What side are you on Sen'jin? I've got a couple of alliance members I tool around with here and there.

btw, the soundtrack is upped to sendspace and is in Audio Request. :P

I think that's BS Immp. Not on your part, but EB's. Some EB/Gamestops I know had to have more pre-orders than they let on. Someone that worked there probably couldn't resist the temptation of ebaying a few. Only about 8-12 people pre-ordered from the local EB here, I made sure I was in line to pick up the one I had reserved. Plus *MY* copy came in from EBGames today, which I really didn't expect until tomorrow, to be honest.

I can confirm it, the Eversong Woods chat makes The Barrens seem tame. A real disappointment since the whole place looks so beautiful. Not only that but on my sever (Stonemaul), a full 23-25% of the characters are now Blood Elves :erm:

I have a 60 Holy spec'd Paladin "Ander" there, as well as some mid-leveled alts. He's pretty much my main, but I haven't done much raiding (just 1 ZG and 1 AQ20). The guild I'm in is still recruiting more and more to grab some healers to become more of a full-time raiding guild, but its taking some time.

I saw that coming. Thats kinda why I went with the Draenei right off the bat instead. I did today make a BE Lock, but I just logged after hitting level 2. It was unbelievable how many people made BE's. And also, agreed that the general chat is bad (understatement). :(

I decided to bring my dwarf to Eversong and helped out some of them. It's funny how much nicer they seem, when they can't kill me (also it helps that I can't hear them talk).

The two (well three now) that I play on Sen'Jin are Nelmarixie (gnome warrior) Moontea (Night Elf priestess) and I rolled a Draenei Shaman. Name begins with a H but can't remember her name off the bat. I mainly rolled on that server cause that's the one my mom plays on.

Grawl Jan 17, 2007 05:49 AM

I rerolled as a (surprise) Draenei Shaman. I must say shamans play really nice (I'll never go to the Horde), although the female Draenei have annoying voices. It's as if some Russian crackwhore is talking.

The_Griffin Jan 17, 2007 06:31 AM

When I head the female draenei talking, the first thing that pops into my head is a quote from the WoW forums:

"But Boris, vat ve do about Tier 2 Druid and Mechanical Squirrel?"

I'm still waiting on my copy, too. Friggin' UPS is probably gonna send it late after I paid 10 bucks for 2-day shipping. =\

Even after I install the expansion though, I probably won't see much, 'cause I'm waiting until my friend can level to 58 (she's 53 right now, about halfway to 54) and has the expansion herself so that we can do it together. :D

it's alright. On some servers the new stuff isn't really playable due to lag outs and server crashes. You know, typical expansion stuff

HazelGuy Jan 17, 2007 07:56 AM

I'm right in the middle of getting my Jewelcrafting up at the moment. Just hit 275. And damn is there some nice gear you can make.

Spike Jan 17, 2007 01:16 PM

Someone on the Euro servers already hit Level 70. It was a guild effort and they had planned it all out before the expansion came out. It was a Gnome Mage and details and an interview can be found here: http://www.worldofraids.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3441

And-you-thought-your-guild-was-hardcore
Levelling-to-70-as-fast-as-humanly-possible-or-else

^ Happened on my server

I'm Sann (level 60 human paladin) on Dragonmaw :P

dagget Jan 18, 2007 12:32 PM

LOL I don't know what's worse that, or the thing that someone said D&T has it if you're not 70 in two weeks, you get /gkicked. (Still pending confirmation on the latter)

BucPride Jan 18, 2007 01:19 PM

Sounds like someone's dying to kill Illidan Dag if that is true. 70 in two weeks? Yeah, not gonna happen.

I just dinged 61 last night, and got to run through Eye of the Storm. For those that haven't, its actually pretty cool. You accumulate 2000 victory points (AB), have 4 towers to take possession of (AV), and there is a flag in the middle of the field in which you bring back to one of the towers in your possession for 200 extra victory points (WSG). I had a fun time with it last night, and the Alliance won it. And it gives you 6 marks of honor instead of 3 for winning.

Niekon Jan 18, 2007 04:08 PM

if I could get into my server I'd be grinding my druid in Hellfire... but Kilrogg has been crashing and had queues from hell these past two days. Only reason I haven't moved my Alliance characters to Azuremyst yet is that CacheCrash wants to "remain on the server that he started with"... but I think I'm gonna leave his ass behind so I can at least get a decent shot at logging in and leveling up too.
