Damn you Q. :(

(Massive jealousy++)

Picked up Soul Calibur: Cheating AI Broken Destiny for PSP yesterday. Also found another copy of Sacred 2 for PC for $20. Yay for 2 more "unique" PC-installs due to DRM!

Dobby Oct 5, 2009 06:30 PM

Massive Jealousy indeed after seeing that O__O

However! I found one of my not-so-local Best Buy's some how had two copies of Valkyria Chronicles in stock. And.. for the first time, the dude kept it on hold for me so I didn't have to rush over!

Lord Jaroh Oct 5, 2009 10:17 PM

Tomorrow will be the Demon's Souls Collectors Edition. I'm pretty pumped.

Yushiro Oct 5, 2009 10:33 PM

Since BlazBlue came out, I've picked up Space Puzzle Bobble (DS, $12 or something), Guitar Hero 5 (360, for the free Van Halen), Halo 3 ODST (360, $40), WoW: Wrath of the Lich King (PC, $5 after $25 Amazon GC). Demon's Souls (PS3) should be arriving tomorrow, and I have Forza 3 pre-ordered as my next game after. After that, I have to decide whether or not to hold onto my God of War Collection pre-order.

... Van Halen should not be a deciding factor in ANY purchase.

Having finished Chains of Olympus, got bored of Gangs of London and realising that I brought all my DS games on holiday except the ones I wanted to play (Suikoden Tierkreis and Pokemon) and having had enough of being raped by Soul Calibur's AI for the time being, I went looking for a new game yesterday.

I now feel Infernal's pain as Aussie games shops are bollocks. All there is on most of the shelves are those retarded "Imagine" games, they don't seem to sell rpgs at all and all the second hand stuff is in a big random pile, rather than in alphabetical order. As such, I found nothing even vaguely interesting for the DS and bought the new Gran Turismo game on the PSP.

It's alright, certainly the best looking PSP racer but the gameplay hasn't translated perfectly to handheld. Primarily the lack of analogue acceleration combined with the series' realistic acceleration means you have to fuck about with the settings a fair bit to get the 4WD cars not to understeer and to stop the FR cars spinning round like they're on ice. I'll write a full review later but I guess it was worth the $50 it cost me but I wouldn't pay any more than that for it.

Played the demo for Uncharted 2 the other day, and decided to pick up the first one as a result. I'd never played it before, but enjoy that style of game, so... yeah. Hopefully I'll pick up Uncharted 2 when it comes out next week.

Also grabbed Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, cause I'm a sucker for those types of platformers.

No. Hard Pass. Oct 6, 2009 12:54 AM

By THOSE KIND I assume you mean "awesome."

I'll retract an earlier statement I made: I'll get Uncharted 2 not at launch but not a month after either. Co-op arena is very fun.

Well. Yeah.

I made my major purchases for the season a few weeks ago and pre-ordered Left 4 Dead 2 and Borderlands on Steam. L4D2 will be a blast without a doubt, and I know no small number of people who are grabbing Borderlands, too, so the co-op in that should be hilarious.

Today I traded in a small pile of old crap to Gamestop and picked up Demon's Souls on a whim, and it's proving to be an awesome game, as well. The first couple of areas (sans the tutorial "boss") weren't too tough, but I'm sure as I dive into it this weekend I'll get my shit rocked repeatedly.

Also having fun leaving misleading notes everywhere, and getting voted up for them.

Bought Brave Fencer Musashi for a whole 5 bux.

Disc is flawless and still has the manual and no cracks on the case either. :3:

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Oct 7, 2009 11:25 PM

Poor Chaotic. He got ripped off. :(

(For real nigga. Very not good. A shame, considering the first one.)

Also bought Demon's Souls. Killed the Red Eye'd Knight before having to study for a test. Tomorrow should be a good display of wrecking shit though. Looking forward to get fried on the damn bridge by the dragon again.

Final Fantasy Phoneteen Oct 7, 2009 11:51 PM

Are you sure you're not thinking of Samurai Legend Musashi, Skills? Brave Fencer is the first one.

Yeah, I'm aware of how bad the second one is. Which is why I've avoided it.

The first one, I heard, was superb.

Jurassic Park Chocolate Raptor Oct 8, 2009 01:21 AM

You're right.

For some reason I totally read that as Samurai Legend.

Holy fuck, brain fart. My bad, homedawg. Musta been the fact that I repeatedly see it for sale for 5 dollars, even these days lots of game retailers still have stock they can't offload.

dagget Oct 15, 2009 09:12 PM

Damn Target and its clearance rack...

Picked up Lord of the Rings Online and Guild Wars for $5 each. Also Lego Batman for PSP.

WolfDemon Oct 17, 2009 10:08 PM

Just bought Scrabble on XBLA and Zombie Apocalypse on PSN. Haven't played Scrabble yet, but Zombie Apocalypse is pretty amusing, if not simplistic. Wouldn't mind playing either one with you guys.

Misogynyst Gynecologist Oct 17, 2009 10:34 PM

Laugh all you like - I bought Republic Heroes for the 360. Its really just a less broken version of Jedi Power Battles but theres no penalty for dying this time and the achievements are pretty easy to get.

And come on. Star Wars.

Jessykins Oct 17, 2009 11:54 PM

Wait, wait. It's like Jedi Power Battles? Are you for real? I may get in on this shit.

SimDaddyGT Oct 21, 2009 07:52 AM

After playing the demo, I, too, wound up buying Republic Heroes for 360, because of the constant reminders of how awesome Jedi Power Battles was. Hopefully, I'll be able to run through it soon.

Also picked up Borderlands and Smackdown vs. Raw 2010 last night. However, I won't be able to start any of those for at least 3 days, because either tonight or tomorrow, I'm getting Beatmania IIDX 16 EMPRESS in the mail.

Started buying a few games for the PS3. Went to pick up the regular version of "Demon's Souls" cause I hadn't preordered it. Turned out they ran out of the regular version(only had a single opened copy), while they still have sealed copies of the Collectors Edition, with the preorder bonus. So I just got that. Game is hard, when I get to play it. Essentially I found out I had been trying to fight an enemy that was waaaay above my level. A red eyed armored and shielded pike guy. Just after starting.

I also picked up the Collector's Edition of Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm. It's good and I find it does really good things in certain sections of the game, but the Ubisoft one for Xbox360 does somethings alittle bit better. It almost feels like if both games had taken the good elements that each of them did in their games, they'd have a truly awesome game, cause the good and bad elements of each almost overlap.

Single Elbow Oct 21, 2009 03:54 PM

Just Borderlands. Steam version on Friday.

Dark Nation Oct 21, 2009 05:08 PM

Forgot to post in here recently: Picked up BrĂ¼tal Legend and World of Goo.

In addition, I got for free (thanks to a short-lived coupon code at PCGameStore GameStore : Home) the games Zombie Shooter and The Longest Journey :3:

Oh fuck you Deni, it was a legal purchase.
