I saw some snaps of the LE guide cover and lithograph, looks pretty freaking nice for a guide especially among other LE guides previously released. I'm glad I preordered mine on Amazon when I did since it looks like they raised the price a little to $23 when it was originally listed at $19.50.
So what have we got left now, less than 3 days before I have this in me mitts... http://www.ebgames.com/common/images...0209_lback.jpg From the Sunday paper inserts Wal-Mart is having a special where when you buy the 80GB PS3 bundle you'll get a $100 gift card. Don't like Wal-Mart? Well Best Buy will even price match the offer as long as you have proof. Also Circuit City is giving away the strategy guide with a purchase of the game...while stocks last naturally: http://i28.tinypic.com/2hp6sde.jpg The Japanese Playstation store also updated with a nice HD version of the "Courage is Solid" trailer. If you prefer you can download it from the link below to watch on your computer.. 1080P Theatrical Trailer. For shits and giggles I came across this last week that was fawking cool.. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ra...exjawopen3.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/ra...-1rexangle.jpg Brickshelf Gallery |

Stopped by my EB today to pay off the balance for the game. Found out that the location isn't doing a midnight release, which could be all for the best. Considering so much of the game's plot is flooding onto the net, last thing I would want is for someone to blurt out a spoiler while I was waiting in line. Anyway, I'll be dropping in first thing Thursday morning to pick up my copy. They also didn't have any guides yet, hopefully they'll have some on Thursday, if not then I might need to resort to Amazon. Ahh, about 2 more days. Interesting to note that in Canada the Limited Edition is going to be available at Best Buy and Future Shop. I also noticed that pricing for the LE is cheaper in Canada than in the States (well, except at Future Shop, where the price is on par with the States). The LE costs $79.99 (CAD) here (which is what I paid, + some GST), while it's $84.99 in the States. Heh, pretty sweet deal for us. |
Holy fuck, it took me a thousand hours to find this damned topic.
Assholes. In anycase, I'm excited for the launch tonight. But I don't have my PS3 yet, so... |
Ok. I've been avoiding this thread like the plague for the last three weeks to make my MGS4 experience the best it can be.
Question – I’m sure a lot of you know about the deal Wal-Mart has going on with their $100 gift card with the purchase of a Blu-Ray player (including all PS3’s), and I hear a lot of people saying that this does also include the 80gb MGS4 bundle, turning this bundle into probably one of the best deals ever. A lot of my friends plan on purchasing it, but they don’t know anything about it. Is Wal-Mart carrying & releasing the bundle tonight at midnight? Is the deal only available online? If we bring an ad to do price matching somewhere, will they match a deal like this? Sorry if this has been talked about before...it's just that when I try to research the topic, I get links to a bunch of little fags saying shit like "IT'S TRUE MY DAD WERKS THEIR AND SAYS I CAN GET IT.", and I want a little more confirmation. I can't even find the bundle on the Wal-Mart website... |
I was so exited for the launch but I'm going to have to wait a bit more since my extra cash went towards something else. I'll probably get it next week.
I knew I should have fully payed it when i preorderd ;_; |

o helo in before shitstorm ::none because no one finds the thread~:: |
Have you got to the bit where Snake kills Raiden yet?
|
Here's the universal rule of metal gear: no one who should die actually does. Only the likeable characters get killed off.
And no, I doubt I'll even start the game till I'm finished with Experience 112. Both of my PS3s are on loan at friends, so I pined a debug from work so that I can play when I want to. I already installed it, so everything ready and all. Just need to plug the console in of course. Also I wish I had a Dual Shock for this but lol SCEE. And yes, there is an 8 minute install at the start of the game where you watch Snake smoke and little notes and health warnings appear on the screen. Once you clear a chapter, the game will install the next chapter, and wipe the previous one. Meaning if you want to play a previous save, from a previous chapter, you need to reinstall that chapter, over the current one, before you can play. I imagine this is the detail Konami didn't want magazines to talk about too much. |

Since my EB seems to be one of the few that isn't doing a midnight launch I'll be having to wait until tomorrow at 10am before I can get mine.:( |
EBgames has shipped all their overnight orders out so people could get it on street date (Provided you pre-ordered the game before today with overnight shipping). Dunno when I'll get mine tomorrow, but I just simply can't wait.
|
Well my check came a day early so I guess I'm gonna get it at midnight!

it does suck that you have to reinstall the chapters every time you play through the game (its kinda like changing disks lol).
it's too bad i can't play this game as early as I'd like because I have to work until 6 tomorrow. I hope I get an art book with the LE! |
Didn't think I'd go to the midnight launch, but one of my buddies REALLY wanted to go pick up the bundle at our Best Buy. There were about 20-25 people there, and my friend was the ONLY ONE who brought in a Wal-Mart ad and got a $100 gift card price match. Some people looked pretty pissed off...
Currently downloading the slow as all hell UPDATES FOR METAL GEAR: ONLINE. AGAIN. I guess I'll sleep while it downloads... |

I was just at my local Best Buy...and there was no one there. No one at all. I was the only one there, and im all "I guess im early". They didnt have the midnight opening, but they definitely have the machines with the game in. All I gotta do is get a flyer from walmart, and boom instant 100 giftcard. Maybe i'll get some other games, perhaps the ones that are cheap now like Vegas 1 and Timeshift.

Is forcing myself to not play this game until I buy and complete MGS1-3 worth it? I really want to play but I want nothing but the best experience possible.
I might just be overhyping it. http://img366.imageshack.us/img366/6...0061sr0.th.jpghttp://img233.imageshack.us/img233/3...0079zg5.th.jpg |
Taking this shit way too seriously. If you give a fuck about story, go right ahead.

But as I said, holding out itself isn't that extreme. I'm not playing GTA4 before I'm done with the previous 3d ones and so far I've finished 3 and Vice City (both just recently). |
Got mine last night at the midnight release, beat the first act in around 3 hours and 30 minutes and I'm stunned so far! This game is awesome the gameplay is so damn fun, and the levels are huge! I really get lost sometimes but it's fun exploring the places and being able to go in so many different buildings.
|
I think I'm going to pick up the Essentials today and start playing from 1. I can tide myself over with GTA4 and MGO while I'm playing the previous games.

Not to mention the games (GTA) make all kinds of references to each other and you get so much more out of them. |
