It'd be cool if they could do Sector X from Star Fox with the rotating space debris and what not

Nall Nov 4, 2007 02:20 PM

If the floor is still open to crazy speculation and rumor-milling, there's an interview with David Hayter, voice of Solid Snake, sorta-kinda implying Jigglypuff is returning (YouTube - UltraNeko & SOLID SNAKE of Metal Gear Solid 4!). Since the guy did record the "codec" messages for each character in the game, it's safe to assume he knows everyone who's going to be in it, and this might have more credence than, say, a generally uniformed NOA rep just naming names. Nothing concrete, but might be worth a look.

I actually really like the idea of a Donkey Kong level they have at the top right there. Just play DK and Mario (possibly Peach as well) on that level with probability of barrels at 100% and item appearance on highest. And, if you can make stages dynamic, have it change so the platforms are tilted at a later point in the stage.
If you could make a stage interactive, I'd be all for seeing a classic Bower's Castle type stage complete with randomly spawning axe that drops a bridge sending everyone else into the lava below. Throw in some off-screen fireballs and moving platforms and it'd be pretty chaotic!

The excitement possibilities for what updates we'll see this week have me on edge. I wonder what kind of internet explosions and shitstorms will happen if somebody like Ridley gets confirmed.

Slash Nov 5, 2007 12:16 AM

O!? WUTS THIS!? OTACON? What are you doing here.

ROFLMAO...if only

Most people don't know who is Ridley? I see Ridley as an assist trophy, but it would be awesome if he makes it as a complete character.

The internet explosion will happen (again after Sonic) if Megaman/Bomberman gets in.

Metal Sphere Nov 5, 2007 02:10 AM

Whoa, Fire Emblem Theme and a video! Looks like Rayquaza's in (whether as a boss, pokeball or just in this one scene). Not much of a stretch, since the other two clowns have been revealed already.

Dalkaen Nov 5, 2007 02:31 AM

That video was pretty cool! I'm excited for the story mode.

Cheezeman3000 Nov 5, 2007 03:50 AM

Freakin' reflector shield FTW...

Darkshineknight Nov 5, 2007 04:03 AM

something bugs me about that video....oh wait its the fact that fox raped rayquaza :P but still, pretty flashy.

Everyday till the launch date I will continously yearn for megaman to be in brawl

wvlfpvp Nov 5, 2007 10:24 AM

Fox didn't rape Rayquaza. Rayquaza raped Rayquaza.

Also, who gives a fuck. It's Smash Bros. Anybody can kick anybody's ass.

Elmoogle Nov 5, 2007 02:59 PM

Fox banned from Poke tournies.

I hope all the brawl music maintains the quality that that FE track has.

Actually, I wasn't all that impressed with it. I don't like chorus-like vocal tracks AT ALL. (I'm hoping that I can skip through the intro so I won't have to listen to the "main theme" of Brawl.) This track would have been much better if Sakurai would have stuck with just orchestrating Fire Emblem's Title Screen music. (I hope to God that no more tracks are vocalized like this.) The one thing that might keep me from disabling this track entirely is that I hear another non-vocal arrangement at the end.

Sin Ansem Nov 5, 2007 06:47 PM

I wasn't expecting Rayquaza at all, but the FE music was EPIC, especially since Radiant Dawn is out today.

If fortune smiles down upon me, grant me Marth, Micaiah, or BOTH this week!

Slash Nov 5, 2007 07:06 PM

That Vid clip was pretty cool..especially with Quaza coming out of nowhere.

and thats full of shit that Fire Emblem is out today
Mainly cause I have no money to get it ><

I'm all about this song. Nice that they put it in Latin, too. Kinda makes it more universal.

If not the internet, then I certainly will explode... with joy!

PunyPeon Nov 5, 2007 09:18 PM

I agree, the vocals ruined the theme that is Fire Emblem. The lyrics are cool and all, but that's it, doesn't seem like an appropriate song while you're duking it out. I would have rather preferred just having the same song from Melee.

Final Fantasy Phoneteen Nov 5, 2007 10:05 PM

That theme is called Together, We Ride!. Eh, it was alright, but it felt weird that the Fire Emblem recruitment song would play when I'm going off to whoop someone's ass. I hated the synthy trumpets too, so I think I could get used to this new Fire Emblem battle theme.

immp Nov 5, 2007 10:48 PM

Not so much the vocals I was impressed it. I'm wondering why all the tracks posted so far have been synth arrangements and then suddenly this ones orchestrated. Where's the orchestrations of the other ones?

Also this Brawl Stage Editor

PunyPeon Nov 5, 2007 10:58 PM

If that one from Melee seemed weird, I don't know how this one wouldn't. Since there is the My Music feature in Brawl though, if there is a non-vocal version of the Fire Emblem Theme, I'd be happy. Also, I love some of the arrangements such as the LoZ: OoT Medley.

Kanzaki Nov 5, 2007 11:57 PM

I didn't like the vocals, it was just orchestrated. And I would be really happy if Companions (from Fire Emblem er...the first one here) is one of the tracks that makes it . (Along with Ness, Megaman and Bomberman)

Chaotic Nov 6, 2007 02:05 AM

Nothing particularly new... Just items from the past Smash Bros. games.

Identity Crisis Nov 6, 2007 02:34 AM

I hope that Samus is still absurdly fast with the Home Run Bat like she was back in Melee. Samus isn't my preferred character, but it was extremely funny in random multiplayer matches when somebody didn't see her Home Run smash attack coming!

Actually, I did notice a clock:

http://www.smashbros.com/en_us/items..._071106g-l.jpg

I wonder if it freezes opponents in time?

Krelian Nov 6, 2007 04:13 AM

Indeed. I was wondering what that did.

Maybe it slows everything the fuck down. Bullet-time brawl?
