I've never had to use the GTS in the first place. I logged on once just to see what it was like, and just as VGCats predicted, it was nothing but a thousand twelve year-olds wanting to trade their level 4 Bidoof for a level 100 Palkia.

Haha...there are some pretty stupid people on GTS.

So, I'd been cut off from the wi-fi for a couple weeks. It's been a while since I got to duel anyone. Just casual stuff. Hell, you don't even have to bring your A-list fighters. It might be nice to battle without running into the same overused Pokemon. Seeing the same Pokemon time after time gets a bit dull, you know?

Crash, on the topic of the GTS, one thing I've found puzzling, but profitable, is that Japs for some reason LOVE Bidoof, and I've gotten some nice trades in return. Blissey, and the balloon ghost one as well for example... but that's about it :tpg:

The main reason I dislike the GTS is that you have no control over the EV scheme and movesets. The GTS' sole function, to me, is the acquisition of breeding stock.

I've no idea why the Japanese would even want Bidoofs. It's not like the stupid things are unavailable in their carts.

The same reason why every pokemon playing weeaboo must have a Slowpoke with a Japanese name. As far as I can tell the Japanese version of the game cannot use English letters to name their Pokemon. And of course we can't type using Japanese characters.
So it's easy to imagine people trading their "good" pokemon for another pokemon with a certain name.

I traded for a hand full of pokes over GTS just to get a variety of different trainer numbers for the daily lottery. I need PP ups and so far I'm only scoring Exp.shares, master balls or backdrops. What the hell :(.

I just need to pop a question about the game mechanics for a second. Is there any way to request pokemon your pokedex hasn't registered over the GTS? Or is there any way to fill in the gaps other than trading or battling with people over Wifi or wireless?

I thought by playing the battle tower I could fill my pokedex up since you meet alot of random pokemon, but it seems like pokemon you encounter inside the battle tower wont show up on your pokedex.

I've been trying to get someone to help me get a full encounter list of all pokemon, but without any luck so far. Obviously it's an extremely time-demanding task and it would suck if there's no way around it.

At least I haven't figured out a way yet. I just *slowly* trade for Pokemon I haven't seen or transfer them from my FR/Sapphire cart. The only quick way I know of would be to use a Action Replay or something.

I can't exactly battle, but the last good thing that happened in my game was that special edition Manaphy that Toys R Us was offering... So that means, the last time I played was in September. <_<

It's been a couple of weeks for me. I picked up the Electivire that popped up on that Pokemon website a while back. I quit when I couldn't get him with the right IVs.

I still need one of those devices that allow you to make an Electivire. I don't own FireRed, so I can't steal them.

Bungie got me back into playing halo and you know how time consuming that can be. Last thing I remember doing in pokemon pearl was playing for the 100 win streak at the battle tower. I think I'm at 20-something, so yeah not bad.

Despite that, I'll probably pick up the pace again since I can't ever get tired of a game like that.

Does anyone know which specific berries on Diamond and Pearl that gives a high 20+ level when it's made into a dry poffin? I'm asking because I'm trying to get Milotic, i have Feebas (3 of em to be exact) and I already screwed up twice so this is my third go. I'm trying to calculate to see if a high berry can increase the beauty quicker than the common berries that make dry poffins.

Couldn't he just use a Butterfree with Compound Eyes (increases held item %, I think it doubles it) and Thief? He'd be able to get one soon enough. This is just addressing this concern, it's obvious without FR this won't work.

Either that or as you said, use an AR.

I've finally been playing again over the last few weeks and have some decent Pokemon (I've only seen 250 or so, got a TON to do in regards to figuring out how to get them from the previous versions of the game).

For you guys just finishing the Elite Four, there's a bunch of stuff to do afterwards.

And also screw chains. I'll never find a shiny.

I tried chaining... That shit is horrible. I don't know how people could possibly get a shiny in about three chains.

In Diamond, managed to balance out my team a little and rework some movesets.
In Pearl, just started playing a couple weeks ago... My team as of now:

Yeah I got a bunch of Feebas eggs in my box, probably about 10 or so!

I turned this on the other day after a few months of inactivity. From what I can tell, I was in the middle of breeding for a Cacnea with Seed Bomb. Fiddled with it for a time and realized that I had forgotten some of the rules of breeding. Need to do a bit more research before I dive in fully again.
