speaking of FFXI, why do i love it's ps2ish graphics so much? I just like how it comes out. The same goes for monster hunter, there's something about it that i love a LOT, but i can't seem to pinpoint it.

Well Ashton... both have medieval looking settings and armor that alot of RPGs lately seem to lack at times. Perhaps that's what you like about them?

I was an FFXI player too, and I really do like the style of it. It isn't bright or colorful but I like the, I dunno, semi-realism? Plus, Mithras.

And yeah, I agree with you Ashton. People always complain about lousy economies... But all you have to do is find one good rare and you have more than enough money to last you for weeks. I'm -still- living off money I made from selling one Carriguine Blade; 3 pure PMs, a brand new arsenal, and all sorts of synthing goodies later... And I've only gone through about half.

Acts like a traditional capsule machine. The owner can stock the machine with items and set a playing cost.

Seems like due to the fact that Japanese take up less room then Eng letters, the translation text was screwed up and you CANNOT see what the player has set for the playing cost. Meaning you potentially lose your millions if you decide to play the machine in someone else's room. Scammers push people into playing this "new cool interactive" decor and scam players out of MILLIONS.

Untill Sega fixes it, stay away!

Sounds like fun. I mean, the presents from random people were fun. I know you got unlucky and got a silly photon for 75k. But sometimes, you got a +5 weapon from them!...Well most of the time you got photons...

Yes the text glitch also affects 360, in fact, the 360 players were scammed first and were the ones who initially reported.

Sega has actually updated their site warning others NOT to touch it or put in their room untill the error is fixed, and to report any scammers.

Hm... got a question for you all. I've got my CAST up to level 48 now, and used to be a Fortegunner (have that up to 6). Looking for a bit of a change of pace, I tried out Guntecher and am enjoying it pretty thoroughly so far. Am I crazy for being (at least trying to be) a CAST Guntecher, foremost?

Second, does my weapon loadout seem good enough, or might I need to change anything down the road/right now?

Nothing in the sixth slot in my palette, though I can't really decide on what to put there--same issue with the offhand for the dagger. Twin handguns are nice for mobility, but that kinda screws my ability to support, as far as I'm aware without needing to switch weapons around... not to mention cards keep me perfectly mobile as it is. Perhaps a bow or rifle?

And even though I know my spells will always suck, does TP matter for buffs at all, or just Gi/resta?

I wouldn't say you're crazy for making a CAST Guntecher. Play as what you want, I hate how in games like WoW and FFXI you're forced to play a cookie cutter character by the community. Heck, I got a CAST Force.

Just for possible reference, here's the Guntecher set up I use for my human. It works pretty good.

Crossbow/Wand (Resta/Reverse)
Mag/Wand (All 4 of the buffs)
Machine Gun/Dagger
Bow
Duel Handguns
Shotgun

Basicly I have all the support spells available and I have plenty of guns to do damage if I need.

My friend has been desperately trying to get me back into this game... especially since Japan started their limited PSO event in celebration of the 20th anniversary of Phantasy Star.

Did the PC/PS2 servers ever revive or did they kind of fade into obscurity?

Lacerta, Universe 2 always has plenty of people and I'm pretty sure most of the people here play on PC/PS2 servers. Although the only people I've seen on lately are Kairi Li and Para.

TP doesn't affect buffs. The only thing that does affect them is if they're level 1, 11, 21, or 31 (and 41 in the future).

And I have to concur with playing however you want. The game takes a majorly casual approach and everyone's overpowered. Do whatever makes you happy.
