I still think the 2 worst choices for new characters were zero suit samus and wario. they could've at least put in mega man for a change

How is Wario a bad choice of character? He's EXCELLENT and has starred ina multitude of games. He has more of a right to be there than NO NAME LOSERS LIKE PIT AND NESS.

I don't think the amount of games a character is in should be the only thing that gets you into a game like SSB, the deciding factor should be if the character is fun to use and/or would add anything to the game. I think Pit should definately be there, in fact he's the character I want to use first but I personally don't really like ness that much so if they got rid of him I wouldn't be complaining. I think I'll have to see more footage to decide whether or not I'm looking forward to Wario making the cut.

By the way AcerBandit those things you mentioned sound sweet especially how updates will be available. In melee after you get the trophies and pass all the events matches and such you can still play them again and it's still fun but getting new stuff to do would be awesome

Seriously though, remember that this game is made for japanese audiences first and foremost, and Earthbound was a BIG hit over there. Ness being in is the most natural thing you can imagine, considering that.

Zero Suit Samus isn't a "new" character. It's just a different playable "mode" for regular Samus.

They put in Snake.

Although, the reason for that was Hideo Kojima wanted him to be in it and the game designer behind the SSB games agreed to put him in.

The inclusion of Snake was a terrible one. He'll be the character of choice for all the weak wankers, losers and faggots of the world.

And for a game allegedly made for teh Japanese, let us not forget, that Pit's inclusion is soley to satisfy the nonsense demand for him generated back when IGN posted a screenshot of his statue in SSBM and morons felt robbed that he wasn't playable. I call these people morons for good reason too. They used to be easily identifiable in Smash bros speculation thread "Wot character shuld they inlcue I thik Kid Icarus!" as if they actually wanted the Kid Icarus NES cartridge, jumping around the stages as a playable character. In fact, Nintendo should've done THAT just out of spite. Then they'd be all "der uh, that's not what I, uh, meant" FUCK OFF!

Considering that a GBA game topped the charts the week it was released when the DS Lite has been out for ages, I'd say that it did pretty good for itself.

Actually, if you've purchased any Virtual Console games then you'll automatically unlock "Cartridge". Cartridge takes the form of any random Virtual Console game that you have bought and each game that he takes the form of has different stats along with some more rigid stats depending on which system cartridge he forms as. Cartridge will be just one other aspect of Super Smash Bros. Brawl that will be using WiiConnect24 to download cartridge art and stats from the database. I imagine that Cartridge will probably be a banned tournament character considering how random he is. Perhaps we'll add an option to add up to 12 Virtual Console games that he can choose from to the on-board memory on the Wii controller. We're still brainstorming that part.

I do believe the last update was the Fox trailer from Nintendo World. Frustrating much.

I'd personally rather wait. Patience is a virtue, good things come, etc - And I don't want to know who any of the secret characters are, so I'll be avoiding the intertubes like the plague once the game is out. One thing I do hope, though, is that Nintendo acknowledges the tournament community following Melee received and that they don't touch keystone characters as a result. I wouldn't be happy to see Falco or Mewtwo gone, or even worse, "reimagined".

I think they're going to do away with clone characters so Falco seems likely to disappear or be remade. Mewtwo will probably stay, though.

He's not so much a clone character as he is various character moves bundled together with a few original moves and some wonky physics.
