Virtual Console not a damn thing WiiWare Cave Story - 1,200 points I know some of you have been waiting for that one for a while. |
Cave Story is actually 1200 points, but I've got a ton of points left over from birthday/Christmas, so I'll buy it. Some people are grumbling because the PC version is free, but for some reason it doesn't bother me.

Virtual Console Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber (N64) - 1,000 points WiiWare WarioWare: D.I.Y. Showcase - 800 points Diner Dash - 1,000 points |
Oh hell yes. Anyone who's never played Ogre Battle 64 should buy it immediately. I played it into the ground, and I'd still buy it again if I didn't still have my cartridge and March of the Black Queen to play on VC.
|
Psh Ogre Battle. More like Lame Battle.
|
Never thought I'd live to see a day where I'd diss a post of Acer's :(
|
It's not my fault that you like Lame Battle.
|
I would buy Cave Story, but Nintendo won't let me. It's not out in Europe yet.
LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU WANT MY MONEY, NINTEND'OH! |
Stop making me diss your posts, Acer. I die a little inside with every click. :(

For anyone with Netflix and no other way of accessing online content straight to your TV, Netflix now has a Wii disk. Netflix: Rent as many movies as you want for only $8.99 a month! Free Trial
I've had it for a few days now and the interface is pretty nice. You can't search up new titles and whatnot, but you can go through a bunch of their auto-generated lists, rate movies, add/remove from you queue, and the whole thing in general is designed pretty slick. I really like how the fast forward feature shows a series of stills about 5/10 seconds apart to choose from instead of doing the fast forward...buffer...fast forward...buffer. Actually feel the method for selecting which episode to watch in a TV series is easier on the Wii than through the web browser. |
How is it as far as buffering? Back when I first started watching it on the 360 if your connection slowed it would stop the whole movie and re-buffer, but thankfully they fixed that.
I got the Wii disk since it was free and I just had to click a button to have it sent without filling out anything, but I wasn't sure how well it would do with the Wii's internet connection. |
I haven't had any issues with buffering yet. Sometimes it can't connect to the internet on the first try, so I just have to restart the Wii and it works fine. Starting a movie/episode usually takes about 5-10 seconds which I don't think is that terrible. It can take similar times when you're trying to skip around the episode, though, so I know it doesn't buffer way ahead in whatever you're watching.
What is cool is when you pause for more than some period of time (long enough to go to the bathroom) when you resume the movie it automatically rewinds 2-3 seconds. A great feature when the phone rings so you don't get lost in the middle of a conversation/scene. I'm also using an old wireless G router with two walls in between and 4-9 other wireless networks I'm competing with depending on how far signals are traveling in my apartment building that day. |

Oh wow with the DS port I thought they would never release the original KSS on Virtual Console as it might detract the port's sales. :golfclap:
|
BIT.TRIP RUNNER seems interesting, and I've got a huge glut of points left over from Christmas. Maybe I'll pick that up.
