This looks like a lot of fun, it's too bad I wasn't here or I would have joined...
Let me know if another game begins, so I can start from the beginning and not feel like a fool for asking questions other people already asked |
Just read up over the first few pages of this thread, Hawk. There's a wait list for characters and a lot of info on what went on. Don't have to read the whole monstrous thread, but those first few pages will answer a lot of questions.
There's also a wiki that keeps up with the actions. It will be updated tomorrow with the final acts of the group in the dungeon. Available here: GFF D&D - GFWiki |
Looks like it'll be a while before I join, I don't think anyone has died yet... and the wait list is fairly long.
If I can ever get in, I would be a rogue. I don't remember the race's name, and I just checked... the fairy blonde people who can teleport. I don't remember. It's too late to be thinking and I have an exam tomorrow. I'll figure out the details later. |

And Eldarin are the fairy blonde people, I believe. Goodluck on your exam. Finals are killing a lot of us right now. |
Oh, so I guess I wasn't inside that particular stomach after all. Or was I?! Dun dun dunnnnnnn.
|
You were. You died. Roll a new character. =(
|
CURSES!
|
Believe me, Hawkeye, if I had a problem with repeating myself I'd have strangled this bunch a long time ago. Hopefully they will start dying more often, though!
Okay, so! As before, along with your new Encounter Power each of you can choose to switch out one of your existing feats, powers, or trained skills for one you think you'll like better. I gave Brigid Powerful Charge as a Lv2 feat, for example, and she hasn't charged once. (There's also been a lot of new feats released since you guys hit Lv. 2, but I'll save those for Lv. 4 and just let you retrain from the old feat list.) LV. 3 FIGHTER POWERS (excepting those in the PHB) LV. 3 CLERIC POWERS LV. 3 PALADIN POWERS LV. 3 WARLORD POWERS LV. 3 WIZARD POWERS |
Alright, looks like we'll have a Bloody Ending. Also, Motsognir is dropping this Jack of All Trades feat and picking up some serious Acrobatics training. |
I'm gonna go with Shield Slam which basically does the same thing as Flattening Charge but doesn't have the same chance to fuck up.
Just sayin if you want to pick something different. |
Seeing as how he gets a bonus to ice and acid damage already, it makes sense for Bob to stick to ice spells so I'll take that one. Actually, he now has two ice spells, a fire spell and a firey robe on so maybe he should lean more towards a split personality, Twoface style mentalist? Next time he suffers a heavy blow to the head I might go with that. I appreciate that he's possibly weird enough what with thinking he's a necromancer and not being able to understand anyone but there's always room for more character quirks in a wizard I think and the whole emo mage thing didn't last too long.
I hope we find a shop that sells blue hats and face paints! |
I'm going to go with Daunting Light. What does 'radiant damage' mean? Does it hurt evil enemies more or something?
And you're right, I want to swap out a feat, but I'm kind of at a loss as to what feat I can/should take. I'm looking at this wiki and I'm all kinds of confused. |
"Radiant" is basically "holy" damage; most of your general undead types are weak against it.
Here are the heroic-tier feats from the PHB. That wiki's for 3rd Edition and can be safely ignored. http://www.saxypunch.com/missile/feats1.png http://www.saxypunch.com/missile/feats2.png http://www.saxypunch.com/missile/feats3.png http://www.saxypunch.com/missile/feats4.png |
So is an extra encounter power all we get at level 3? That's not really the transformation into super-enhanced killing machines I was perhaps hoping for. :(
|
Ooh, I'll take the Melora's Tide feat. Any extra healing will be a bonus.
So will Daunting Light hurt non-undead monsters (run of the mill goblins, black dragons, etc)? Because if not then I'll go with something else. |
Radiant damage is something certain enemies are weak to, so it does extra damage. Still hurts non-dead things, too. Think of it like lightning damage in FF. Hurts things weak to lightning more. Still fucks up giant dogs too, though.
|
Rad as hell. I am the holy half-of-a destroyer.
|
I've been reading the Players' Guide and I can't figure out for the life of me what [W] means. My best guess is that it means a weapon attack? It's used a lot in the ability descriptions.
|
[W] is a weapon roll. If your weapon causes 1d6 damage, [W] means 1d6, etc.
|
Deni why are you posting in this thread without making a power selection

Ok, 3rd level is kinda skimpy I grant you |
|
Nice update. Funny how the hero of the story changes depending on who's updating though. ;)
Given the inevitability of us getting pickpockted and losing all our hard-earned cash within minutes of arriving in any fantasy-setting city, I propose we blow it all in the first shop we come to. |
I'm writing the entire 2nd game as a Dear Diary that Gabriel puts together. It's going to be like the end of Stand By Me.
|
I think Doogie Houser MD would be a better reference point. I fucking hate Stand by me.

I think it'd be great. That way whenever someone else updates the wiki, it can be in the voice of a specific character. Also: Do we want to continue on in this same thread, or split to a new one when the adventuring starts? |
