yeah,if psp game put it on iso folder

Kimchi Nov 13, 2007 06:20 PM

I know this sounds newbish... but

I unpacked game

I got

- Folder: PSP_GAME
- UMD_DATA

Lets say I want to put more than 1 game, I just put them in? Or make a folder in PSP game folder for the game?

I unpacked another rar, I got

.cso
UMD_DATA

Is this normal?

Sepharite Nov 13, 2007 06:44 PM

All you need is the ISO or the CSO.

Place any of those files into the X:ISO (X being the ROOT of your memory card. And if you don't have the folder ISO, make one).

You can have multiple games in the ISO folder.

The PSP - GAME(150) is for homebrew, or emulators.

Kimchi Nov 13, 2007 07:20 PM

That's ticking me off. I can't find ANY ISO files I downloaded from torrents. I get a folder with 12~ish .rar files. So I extract them all. Now I get one folder called PSP_GAME with

-SYDIR folder
-USDIR folder
-3 pics
PARAM.SFO

Only game I was able to get CSO is djmax ._.

Slayer X Nov 13, 2007 07:24 PM

That .SFO sounds like some sort of compressed ISO. Have you tried putting it into your ISO folder? Worth a shot.

Sorry to hyjack the topic. But you're telling me that in order to get an emulator to work I have to put it in that "GAME150" folder? I've been trying to get this Neo-Geo emulator to work forever now.

So Devhook goes under GAME150 right?

Slayer X Nov 13, 2007 07:52 PM

Don't know if this will help, but I found a program that allows you to view the contents of .sfo files. So you can check to see if it is the game image at least.

Upspear v0.15 released - PS3 News, Wii News, Xbox 360 News, PSP News and more!

I'll see what else I can find on it.

Kimchi Nov 13, 2007 08:01 PM

Okay, do I even NEED devhook?

I placed ISO on my root... I put UMD... let it load... and I check my files... NOTHINGGGGGGGGGGggg

^-^ Nov 13, 2007 10:32 PM

you have winrar enabled to control .iso files.

This is why you cannot see the file itself. Open up Winrar, then choose Options > Settings > Integration, and uncheck ISO.

Then your .iso files will be back to normal.

Sepharite Nov 13, 2007 11:58 PM

You don't need Devhook. I think you just didn't enable NO-UMD (assuming you don't have a UMD inside your UMD slot).

Hold R when turning on your PSP, that would direct you to recovery mode.

Configuration - UMD MODE: Sony NP9660

Oh, and the files you downloaded are the files INSIDE an ISO. You'll have to manually make that into one. I don't know how, you'd better just download another full image from pspiso.com

^-^ Nov 14, 2007 08:46 AM

The reason why kimchi can see the files inside the .iso file are explained above...

Most people forget to turn off the .iso handling of winRAR (unless you work with that stuff (ie-ripkits) and thus leads to this situation.

Kimchi Nov 14, 2007 03:34 PM

What am I doing wrong?

CFW - 3.71 mm3
I now can see ISO and unpack ISO from .rar thanks to ^-^
ISO folder in root [root = the screen when I double click PSP on my computer right?]
ISO in ISO folder [no CSO]

I turn on PSP, check my game section. "There are no games" -_-

Sepharite Nov 14, 2007 04:01 PM

This rarely happens so I'm pretty sure this wouldn't help you but, make sure the ISO filename isn't too long, and doesn't have weird characters.

Inhert Nov 14, 2007 04:24 PM

you sure you have a custom firmware and not the official 3.71?

what does it say when you check your system software under the system information setting?

Kimchi Nov 14, 2007 04:26 PM

ISO files

djmax.iso
disgaea.iso

I made that precaution already... maybe its my FW?

I upgraded 3.6 official to 3.71 MM3. I checked a youtube's guide

This guide went in to recovery mode... and there was

Game folder homebrew

I do not have that, maybe my FW is messed up or something? :gonk:

I'm going to go on a whim... either way, I know you said you upgraded to the custom firmware, I want you to go to your system info, and check to see if the system says it's 3.71M33. I'll try to walk you through it after we confirm this.

Kimchi Nov 14, 2007 05:17 PM

Filmware: 3.71 M33

Xit-bit as nick or soemthing like that when I upgraded to cfw

Ah. Format your memory stick for me. Make sure to backup saved games and stuff.

Some people online say that doing so may be the answer to your problem;

too exp’d challenges upon hopping up to 3.71m33. same deal… cso’s and iso’s would not load up. then i formatted the memstick via settings on my psp with the upg’d fw, put the games on the stick and BAM! everything works great.
Check the comments in this link to see if they might help you as well.

Kimchi Nov 14, 2007 05:25 PM

Okay, I am done formating.

I never had any files to backup since they are all in pc... should I restore the whole folders? Or just put the files in to folder.

^-^ Nov 14, 2007 05:27 PM

files in the folder, but that's not our issue atm.

I need to know if the games show up yet, so copy an iso to the ISO folder.

Kimchi Nov 14, 2007 05:36 PM

Do you know what ^-^

You are miracle worker, I can't believe you would have patience to help me through. Thanks =) :D

^-^ Nov 14, 2007 05:40 PM

Did it work?

Kimchi Nov 14, 2007 05:41 PM

Yes =O Thanks a lot for help me out =)

^-^ Nov 14, 2007 05:46 PM

Ah. General rule of thumb (that I've followed since 3.03OE-C), format the memory stick after upgrading firmware.

SouthJag Nov 18, 2007 01:57 AM

I posted this just a moment ago in the Crisis Core thread, but I'll post it here too for good measure.

Crisis Core's now available for preorder through GameStop, and carries a release date of March 25th, 2008.
