I'm not too familiar with the show, but I think Genshiken has something to do with cosplay, so that would be my guess.

Actually, cosplay is only a characteristic (although a rather major one) of one of the main characters of this anime. Overall, cosplay doesn't have a major role in the plot itself.
So, sorry, you both are wrong; although now I have even more anime I have to watch. (Thanks guys. =P)

I think that's from Princess Nine. The uniforms seem to match. Been too long since I last watched it though so kinda fuzzy.

Its Noodle Fighter. If i remember correctly, it was when Miki was teaming up against Kankuro in baseball. A good show though.

ahh good try guys, but it's not from Starship Operators, Air Gear, Eureka 7 or Sin. =) the screenshot is indeed widescreen. for hints, it takes place in space and there's also a game (more like visual novel) for the series.

Space? Game? "Visual novel"? Primula avatar? All roads lead to Soul Link, which was made by the same creators of Shuffle!. The animated series is also widescreen, so it does fit that area anyway.

I've never actually watched the show, but there you have it, that's my "explanation" for my guess.
