Is anyone playing this on custom firmware? The demo hated the latest GEN, and I figure this is going to as well.

GEN-D3 Final or whatever is confirmed, and I guess there's a patch for m33. It seems to be running fine for most.

So i dont mean to be so biased against this one but having alex know hes going to become a dragonmaster 30 minutes into the game is just ruining it, it softens the whole love story. He boecame that to save Luna, it wasnt a oh here you go thing.

Final Fantasy Phoneteen Mar 5, 2010 08:44 PM

Wasn't the whole intro in the original about how Alex is in love with the legend of Dyne and how he wants to emulate him and go on adventures? The whole thing with Luna is the stereotypical "knight in shining armor" bit to give it a deeper sense of purpose and become the main driving force of the protagonist, but Alex's desire to be a Dragonmaster was always there.

That being said, I'm reminded of how shit this story is.

Yeah hes always wanted to be, but its strange how hes like, oh hey guess what, you are. I guess im just a sucker for a cheezy love story.

Looks like they kept a good chunk (so far as I can tell) of the dialogue from WD's translation. Boat song was changed up though. Haven't got much further than that yet but I've actually been enjoying the game over again beside the fact this is like my 4th or 5th different version. Now if only it does well enough for Eternal Blue to be remade for PSP.

These load times are killing me. Off the disc they are significantly worse than in the demo, and even something so minor as pausing the music for 7 seconds every time you go from one town screen to the next is just driving me bonkers. Combine that with the shortened dungeons and way easier enemies and I'm having far less fun than I should.

Translation is fine, music and gameplay are fine, but between the excruciating loads and the lack of challenge, I'm just not interested in finishing this at all.

Final Fantasy Phoneteen Mar 23, 2010 11:26 PM

I've already put it down. No real interest in continuing on with it.

If they ever do decide to remake Lunar 2 (hahaha), they had better handle it a bit better.
