I don't know if anyone's been keeping up with the LHC, but apparently there was a faulty transformer that cooled the "track". The temperatures rose from just under 2 degrees K to around 4.5 degrees K.

It was shut down last week Thursday, and just got back up to speed today I believe.

They're still on track to start the collision experiments in a few weeks though. So that's good, right?
