Uploaded José Gonzáles - Veneer upon nadienne's request. I also suggest the rest of you fucks listen to this album because it is <3 acoustic-ized. :D

For those of you wanting more Nujabes, I'm currently uploading both of his full-length albums. I wanted to let Plug 4 upload them, since it was these albums that he uploaded got the ball rolling on this beloved project of ours. I felt it was only proper that he upload them himself. However, it doesn't look like he's coming back anytime soon so I'm putting them up at the behest of many.

If Plug doesn't come back, he'll be sorely missed... We owe this club to him. :(

Admiral Amara Apr 5, 2006 01:36 AM

Plug was indeed a major force behind the success of the original thread. He and Iwata basically teamed up to make sure we had consisten fresh, awesome material. Like those Miles Davis uploads - super! He was a staple of the Club.

I'm getting some more uploads later, and Mucknuggle - I've heard Side A of Ristorante - where has Nujabes been all my life? So very good.

EDIT: Oh, yeah, I almost forgot! I uploaded GY!BE's album Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven, which I think it their magnum opus (as I describe in the thread). I'll be uploading their album F# A# oo, which was the first thing that I ever contributed. Ah, reminiscing.

Mucknuggle Apr 5, 2006 06:22 AM

Side B mixes in some Jamiroquai. <3

Admiral Amara Apr 5, 2006 10:22 AM

10 minutes into Side B. Are you even kidding, this is some of the coolest stuff ever, why lie. I can't wait for more Nujabes uploads, so I can further appreciate the awesome. Thanks again!

Schadenfreude Apr 5, 2006 11:11 AM

Haha, fucking hell. Megaupload hates me. Due to the "all download slots assigned for your country are in use" bullshit I haven't been able to download a lot of stuff I've been wanting to check out (controller.controller, for one).

Oh well. I've been thinking about uploading some Isis or Godflesh. So awesome.

ava lilly Apr 5, 2006 03:03 PM

xpander, I loved that B-Tribe album you uploaded. I've been listening to it all day.

hey enceph, do you mind if I upload Formica Blues to the mix? I have this inane urge to share with everyone how awesome Mono* is, but I originally got them from you, so I figured I'd ask.

*the band, you nimrods :'D

I'd definitely grab the Isis, especially if you have any live shows.

Mucknuggle Apr 5, 2006 06:06 PM

I've uploaded all of the Nujabes that I have, other than his albums (because Enceph claimed those). I'll keep on checking Oinks to see if there is more stuff uploaded.

Jinn Apr 5, 2006 07:30 PM

Thanks for uploading that Architecture in Helsinki album Encephalon! Glad to see someone enjoy that album. I didn't really get any feedback the first time I posted it.

Anyways, awsome to see the rock live on.

Iwata Apr 6, 2006 01:48 AM

in the process of throwin up some Silver Apples. As 60's psych seems to be the most enjoyed stuff of my uploads.

Also MAD PROPS to omglasplagas. Feli Kuti is a mutherfucking god and it would be a disfavor to anyone who didn't check out his work, Highly recommended. I need to throw up some Femi K and Sun Ra now.

but once again, everyone download omglasplagas upload.

I wish I did... I would imagine they'd sound killer live. I only have "The Red Sea" (the CD release with the demo tracks), "Oceanic" and "Panopticon". I'll upload all 3 in due time, I guess.

Mucknuggle Apr 6, 2006 01:14 PM

I showed a friend of mine the thread and he really likes it. He's requesting more hip hop uploads, so if you've got anything good to share, how about some ups?

Has he heard the Immortal Technique? I think the links are still up on SBF, and I could just bring them over here if he wanted.

Admiral Amara Apr 6, 2006 08:39 PM

Kaizers Orchestra - Maestro has expired due to inactivity. Just thought someone ought to know.

Paco Apr 6, 2006 08:53 PM

Maybe it wouldn't be inactive if you heathens downloaded it more. :p

That was you? Shit man I remember posting a little paragraph stating my undying love for that album. I just went out and got their other album (Fingers Crossed) and it's even more AWESOME than their first. Either way... Mad props. :D

Admiral Amara Apr 7, 2006 09:48 AM

You know, it's weird. Whenever I listen to Rap/Hip-Hop, I get very turned off. People are always like "it's about the beat!" and I'm always like "there's more to music than that!" Here I am, listening to Nujabes, just started on Metaphorical Music, and thinking it's acceptable, possibly great music. This dude's doin' something right.

Broadening musical tastes and introducing great new artists since day one: The Music Exposure Club.

Paco Apr 9, 2006 12:10 PM

Props on that Blackstar upload. That is seriously such a great album to give a spin to. I have all of Mos Def's and Talib Kweli's albums and I have tried to get people to listen to them and they're usually pretty iffy about liking one or the other. Put those two together and all of a sudden we got a winner. :D

knkwzrd Apr 9, 2006 12:16 PM

Personally, I enjoy Mos Def's solo stuff more than Kweli's, but I know people who prefer Kweli and can't stand Mos Def. It a strange thing.

Mucknuggle Apr 9, 2006 12:21 PM

Kweli is amazing. I also have all of their albums. Shall we go on a Mos Def/Talib Kweli upload spree?

knkwzrd Apr 9, 2006 12:24 PM

Sure. I'm uploading Mos Def's The New Danger as I type.

Paco Apr 9, 2006 01:15 PM

Yeah, I don't understand this either. I know a ton of people who don't like either artist as a solo effort but they've been jonesin' for another Black Star album for years. It's rather strange.

You guys should check out Mos Def's "Black On Both Sides". That album is one of the best albums ever released in the underground scene.

I fixed that download link for Nujabes - Modal Soul. I suggest you guys check that shit out NOW.

Mucknuggle Apr 9, 2006 01:21 PM

I'll try to remember to upload some Talib Kweli later - it will probably be Quality. Maybe his new mixtape.

Enceph: I've already checked that shit out! Av/sig???
