True, but most pre-pay phones are "leftover" phones. The one model we got here they stopped making a few months ago. But it's still on prepaid. It's still not too good to go with the barest phone, since most likely it'll give you crap reception half the time. Spend a few dollars more and get a decent reception phone.

Motorola V60s. Came free with our family plan. I usually have trouble understanding people on it, but I havn't used enough phones to know if that's a general phenomenon. It seems well-built enough.

squirrelishere Mar 26, 2006 08:26 PM

Motorola V60's, for the most part were crap. Just wondering, do you still got the antenna on your's? I hardly seem them on them phones anymore...

Retriever II Mar 26, 2006 10:53 PM

If you can call this stubby little thing an antenna, yeah. I guess they're being built into the flip-portion of the phones now. Come to think of it I havn't seen many lately.

FLEX Mar 26, 2006 10:55 PM

My Nokia 1100 has its antenna built-in. Then there's my v710, which comes with what's possibily the flimsiest antenna ever made.

NOTE: My camera's outer bevel fell off today. Yay.

Fireman Joe Mar 27, 2006 04:26 AM

I've got a Nokia 3310, and I think my girlfriend's got a Sony Ericsson T105... something like that.

I like how I just got Ace Combat 5 ringtones on my cellphone. Is this even real.

:lolsign: So sad.

I had a 3588i, a phone that could double as a road flare (yep, it was that bright). The fact that it lit up like a Christmas tree did no favors for the battery time.

Also had a 5190, a phone that Superman himself could fling into orbit, watch it come back during reentry and still make a call from it.

SouthJag Mar 27, 2006 05:06 PM

I've got a Motorola T720 with service through Alltel. I've never had any problems with Alltel over the what, 6 years I've had a contract with 'em.

The T720's a nice cell phone, nothing spectacular though. Doesn't have a camera but then again I don't need one at all. Camera phones are lame.

I did enable the funlight.pat for my v551 that CapturedPenguin is borrowing thank you very much. Plus I can change my status light to be orange, red, or green in the setup menu, downside to that is that the phone only has a blue light...lol

I'm using the ROKR/E1 til the E2 comes out

Nokia 2300.
Old and ugly, but it does what I need it to do.

Although I might need to replace it soon, it has started to eat the battery like crazy. I have to recharge it every day. And it is not a problem with the battery, it does it with new ones as well. :/

LMAO. My fault for trying to be helpful. :D

Yeah, the E2 is looking really good right now. It was supposed to be out march 1st but still isn't here. Hopefully it'll be available before May.

Razr V3. Wish I never got the damn thing, overrated piece of crap with shitty reception. Plus too many people have it. Might just be T-Mobile though. And the mods are overrated.

Borg1982 Mar 29, 2006 04:51 PM

Yes! I was able to transfer any mp3 or midi from my computer onto my phone and make them ringtones. Each of my friends has a diff ringtone now.

One of these. Pretty sweet phone, except it froze twice.

I should mention I won it in a raffle. Microsoft presentation in my uni.

I don't see why everyone likes the Razr. Like Jason said, everyone has them so that kinda sucks. But what I really don't like about them are the buttons and the size of the phone. The buttons are a little awkward to me and while the phone IS thin, it's just way too big. They made abig deal about it being really thin, but if it's really wide then what's the point?

Before "Everyone" had them it was a phone that was unique and very exclusive. Add to that it bucked the trend of thick, ugly clamshells. I don't mind the fact that it's wide; it fits in the "key" pocket of my skate jeans and that means the world to me - my v220 and every other phone fits but they bulge outward like a wierd bump. The Razr is damn near invisible in my pocket - and I like that too. Add the fact it's light and I barely know it's there unlike other cells.

Despite that I'll be the first to admit the feature set is a bit limited compared to ther phones. Then again most people seem to see the Razr today and consider it "not enough for the money" without realizing the phone is 2 yrs old and as such phones released recently (within the last 6~7 months +/-) should have better specs. The phone didn't really hit market mass in the US until Cingular's shock and awe marketing of the "Special Edition" Black Razr. But then again, I didn't get it because it was "the" phone - I got it because it fit me.

That's what got me. And that's why I still have it. If I wanted features at the cost of what I consider "portability" I'd get a PDA/smartphone.

Megaman X Mar 29, 2006 11:16 PM

I have the LG phone you get for free when you resign your contract with Cingular. I get MediaNet, Instant Messanging, and it is a camera phone. Much nicer than other phone I had.

I want a Motorola SLVR, but I don't see me getting one in the near future.

I've never seen that phone. Even though it's old, I fucking LOVE that number pad layout... They look like butterflies. :D

I have recently abandoned Nokia phones and have switched to Samsung.

The Samsung Z-140 to be exact.

I just got a new phone yesterday, the Sony Ericsson Z520i.

http://www.mobique.com/_images/sonye...le_opening.jpg

I find it very beautiful for some reason. Got obsessed by it the first time I saw it, I've always wanted a "clamshell"-type phone, and now I've got my first :)

(Previous phone: Sony Ericsson T610)
