September 1st. But damn. I wonder what made them want to release 4 movies.

So, uh, like, the first one came out today. I haven't heard anything, but a friend offers up the fact that he "heard it sucked".

They have also launched yet another Evangelion manga series, [Evangelion Gakuen Mokushiroko], this is also another alternate universe series (supposed to not have any Evas in it since Shinji and crew can kill angels without them).

The first movie was okay... people argued that none of the characters really look or act like the ones they "grew up with" since Shinji is no longer emo but is just very shy along with other characters having much more emphasis on certain personality types than what they normally had, and that the things changed (which was quite a bit -- I counted at least 30 things different from the original series) ruined their understanding of the series as a whole.

A lot of people said battles were similar to "the greatness that is Gurren-Lagann..." but I didn't even notice any similarities aside from both of them being nicely animated.

It's just something you accept and enjoy, fanboy/girl gush and love it regardless, or hate with every ounce of your being.

So it was only "ok" , huh? I still want to see it anyway. Eva is Eva and there is one side that says Shinji whines too much and the other says its all good. Who gives a shit. Stick around Tokyo Toshokan for a torrent sometime soon.

Screw subs, I'd settle for a raw; the only thing I have yet to find is a crappy fake version stuffed into a password protected zip file. The trailer looks so pretty that it makes the wait twice as bad :(

Seeing that so many went to see the movie, I won't lose hope after all. Plus, the OST came out today. I'm impressed Sagisu still has it =]. great job.

Thanks for the OST! It sounds amazing! I wonder how long it would take for them to put it on DVD (and some fansub group picking it up.)

I'm hoping that by the end of the year we'll have a dvd of it or even better a blu-ray release =D then in a few days we'll have ourselves a nice fansubbed eva =D

The DVD isn't out yet, so no rips. We might have to wait till next year for that =/

This is taking forever. I still can't believe there are no cam rips of the movie or anything like that already out :(

While the spoilers that Lacerta mentioned do excite me somewhat, why is NGE still around? Comon, the tv series finished what like a decade ago? Their apocalyptic prophecies for the year 2000 failed to materialise, making the whole thing more ficticious and fantasy than ever before.

The story is over, we all know what happend. So why do they continue to make more of this?

Are you somehow implying then, that Terminator 2 isn't as awesome because Skynet hasn't become self-aware? :mad:

I tried the high-def fansubbed torrent but noone is seeding that anymore. I'm currently seeding with the standard-def fansub above along with almost two thousand other people.

Very nice. Must try getting that tonight. I saw a bit of one fansub at our anime club, but it was made on a handycam version, which basically made me bobofrown and refuse to watch it.

Not that I would have wanted to watch Eva there anyway.
