Reading skills, guys. This picture is from the first season. Yeah, you definitely haven't seen Mai-Otome. None of the male characters or their costumes from Otome or Hime look like any of those in the screenshot. And no of course it isn't Mai-Hime either. I could see the school girl uniform being confused with one from Hime though, Natsuki in particular. New bleh hint: has harem quality of only one main male character who gets the shit beaten out of him each episode. |
I can really only think of Girls Bravo, but then I don't luckily know fanservice anime, much less ones in their second seasons.

It's not as blatant a fanservice anime as Girls Bravo. I don't think they ever show tits in it either, just clever camera angles when there is any nudity. Also it's newer than Girls Bravo.
Pshh... "luckily". I'll admit that a lot of fanservice animes aren't high up there on the ol' intelligence meter but it's all a matter of your taste, sometimes tolerance and open-mindness, and for some people self-control. I know harem/fan-service anime isn't everyone's bag but to condemn an entire genre sounds a bit snobbish, "I'm better than you" there, Q. Just sayin'. =/ |

Seeing as so many fanservice anime ride on their fanservice, just like most action series do with their action and hentai shows with their sex scenes, they feel they can get away easier with weak characterization, as that's often very much the case (and was never the case with Gainax shows which began the whole fanservice thing. It was a bonus, not the content). A series doesn't have to be "intellectually challenging" to be entertaining, but poor slapstick and nudity doesn't cut it. If that sounds snobbish, maybe you need an open mind too. |

"Luckily" was just a poor choice of words. At least, it was if you were trying darn hard not to sound offensive. I imagine if I said something along the lines of "luckily I don't know old stuff" you'd probably jump on me with those classic lines. I know i have seen this some where, it reminds me of Getbackers, but wasnt getbackers widescreen???...meh...i dont know anymore...if its from getbackers its from episode 5-6 though
