Leaked episode stuff:

Basically, it was:

Episode 1: Boring/cliche/lame/worst opening ever
Episode 2: Same shit, man this is a bad premiere
Episode 3: Arg, this is so boring and cliche for 24
Episode 4: Boring... boring... wait, what? Curtis killed by Jack?! WHAT?! JACK'S DONE? NUKE ASPLODE?!!

Basically, they did a few boring shit (as in, really shitty) episodes in order to pull a great surprise at the end of episode 4.

It was kinda the opposite of last season, what with Palmer + Michelle dying and Tony getting hurt in the first episode.

Casaubon Jan 9, 2007 12:04 AM

Spoiler:
Is it me, or has 24 just became way too formulaic? Yeah, it's its own formula, but still. Every season since like, 3, has started this exact same way. And there is always that goddamned family that only wants to do good but fucks everything up.

Pretty much agree with Jazz, the first 3 episodes were lame, minus Jack's scars. The nuke thing actually caught me off guard, wonder what the hell they are gonna do now.

eprox1 Jan 9, 2007 05:50 AM

Um. I just watched 17 episodes to finish season 4. Straight. Is something wrong with me.

Also -
Spoiler:
A foursome with Jack Bauer, David Palmer, and Tony Almeida is any genders wet dream.

The Furious One Jan 9, 2007 07:08 AM

I can't believe you guys couldnt wait, you will have to wait extra for the next episode now!

LOL 24 Toys are on the way

http://www.diamondselecttoys.com/article.asp?ai=36469

There will probably one of Tony, that you pull the cord (push the button) and it repeatedly says 'yeh' in a sighing tone, whilst nodding its head. Maybe a Jack, that says 'damnit' or 'Cloe I need a favour'

Well, they're no longer guys. They have lost their manhood because of this sin. Then again, no one is a man when around Jack Bauer.

Those toys are gonna be awesome, but "Jack Bauer toy" is quite the oxymoron. Hopefully it can run around yelling "DAMMIT!" and "THERE'S NOT ENOUGH TIME!" as well as perform some interrogation techniques. And of course the Chloe toy: "OH NO NOT A PHOENIX SHIELD! THAT HAS A POISON PILL FIREWALL!"

Rockgamer, let us know how the toys are since I know you'll be one of the first with them. :tpg:

Will do! :p

But yeah, as long as these aren't almost $200 like those Japanese Jack Bauer action figures, I'll be picking them up as soon as possible.

Also, that's pretty fucking awesome BlueBmber! I've never watched that much of anything straight through before (except some animu, which is nowhere near as good as 24).

The Furious One Jan 9, 2007 01:49 PM

Yeh thats crazy, i've only managed to 10hrs straight lol! Boring lecturers can have that effect on you!

nazpyro Jan 9, 2007 01:54 PM

My final exam week of December 2005 was epic. The only season of 24 I had seen then was four. Five was starting in a month, and I wanted to see the rest of them before it. So I watched season one straight through, with only one ~half-hour break at a 24-hour McDonald's. =p At some point, I took a final, and then I watched Season 2 straight, again with a McDonald's break. Season Three got watched the following week (not marathon mode), and then season 4 again among the remaining weeks before the Season Five premiere. It was legendary.

Rockgamer Jan 9, 2007 02:01 PM

Wow naz, I thought you had been watching it since it first came on like I did. Now I'm wondering if anyone on here has (maybe BZ or JazzFlight).

nazpyro Jan 9, 2007 02:08 PM

Haha, no way. I didn't watch much TV at all those days other than animated shows. I watched more movies then. Late 2005 is when I started watching just about everything ever on TV... and less movies. =/

Grundlefield Earth Jan 9, 2007 05:11 PM

I starrteed watching when season 3 was on the air. Just started watchin season 1 from a torrent I downloaded. I became obsessed and would watch multple each night on my comp. I actually would watch an ep one night and then the next night rewatch that previous ep and watch the next, and etc. Caught up to the end of Season 3 on tv.

The Furious One Jan 11, 2007 05:39 PM

24 and Prison Break will be released on Bluray this year. Audrey's hair hasn't looked so good!! (seriously season 4 and 5, terriosts, kidnappings, being shot couldnt affect it in anyway).

Qube Jan 11, 2007 06:10 PM

Heh yeah, I guess I got hooked on 24 during season 4 sometime, although meh, most I've watched is maybe most of a season in one go, back in my marathon show watching days.

I nabbed those new episodes soon as I found out about them, and yea, I don't feel any worse off for it. Whatever that might mean.

The Furious One Jan 12, 2007 07:19 AM

I was tempted to download the new episodes on torrent, but ppl online were talking about fox tracking you download through the isp, so I thought those evil fox executives will probably be anal enough to just do that.
So I found a site that is selling the offical DVD http://www13.cd-wow.com/index.php
I've waited over 6months for season 6 so I can wait another week to have it delivered to me.....i hope i can, it will probably mean me avoiding gamingforce for that duration :psyduck:

nazpyro Jan 13, 2007 12:09 AM

Folks, the most epic weekend in the history of earth is upon us. This will be the beginning of one of only six days ever that matter. We all know time only exists because Jack Bauer doesn't feel like carrying it. Anyone got some epic plans for this event? I might marathon season four or five starting tomorrow night, maybe earlier since THERE IS NOT ENOUGH TIME!

Rockgamer Jan 13, 2007 01:06 AM

I don't have anything epic planned, but I am gonna try to finish up some 24 stuff before it comes on.

First off, I got the second Declassified novel that I just started reading again, so hopefully I can finish that this weekend. I also need to watch the rest of the extras on the Season 5 DVD (already listened to the commentaries and watched the deleted scenes). And finally, I just bought the latest issue of TV Guide with 24 on the cover, so hopefully I can read that (as long as it doesn't spoil anything) along with the article about about Mary Lynn Rajskub (Chloe) that was in last Sunday's Parade Magazine.

So yeah, nothing too epic planned, but enough to get me my 24 fix before the show comes back on.

Grundlefield Earth Jan 13, 2007 02:07 AM

Yeah I just bought the Season 1 declassified testimonial reports from amazon considering it was like 2 bucks only.

RYU Jan 13, 2007 07:55 AM

I might not wear Jack Bauer pajamas to bed, but I've been watching since season one on through. No dvds or torrents, just the episodes as they air.

The Furious One Jan 13, 2007 10:28 AM

Yeh i watched from season 1 too. Then the BBC didn't bring it back for season 3 so resorted to torrents then DVDs. Still greatest show to ever come on TV, i have high hopes for Dexter and Heroes too.

Rockgamer Jan 14, 2007 05:27 AM

Okay guys, since the premiere day is now here, I went ahead and created a discussion thread. But since it hasn't come on yet, I'll go ahead and keep this thread open until it does.

Man, I can't believe it's only hours away. I'm so pumped I can't even sleep! I have to though, so I can give my full attention to the show once it comes on (though I highly doubt 24 would ever put me to sleep).

Lizardcommando Jan 14, 2007 05:34 AM

Cripes! I can't believe the season premiere is going to be on tonight!

Ah crap, now I can't sleep.

I so want Jack Bauer PJs. :tpg:

But yes, I can't believe how giddy I am for tonight. It's really all I can think about right now. 7 hours, 21 minutes to go as of hitting submit.
