lolol. Figures this would happen. I know a few people who will be quitting because of this. Wonderful. Maybe I should cancel until the expansion comes out. Save about $30 or so.

I agree though, nice for them to let us know at 1 am instead of getting it out of the way about a month ago, when they knew they were cutting Beta close to release. The expansion should have been brought out by Working Delays. :edgartpg:

ah well

It's blizzard. How can you be surprised by this? It's always a different excuse at the last minute.

Cirno Oct 24, 2006 11:48 AM

Wow, this is pretty fucking lame. I was going to just try and get my rogue to 40 before the release date, but I guess I can dick around and get to 60 by January.

The_Griffin Oct 24, 2006 12:19 PM

Meh, gives me more time to play Phoenix Wright 2 when it comes out. I'm not all that bothered with it. =\

immp Oct 24, 2006 01:57 PM

Expected. We all no blizzard they like things perfect. Although I think thats prety much unattainable. I was hoping to play it over xmas break =(
I've been watching the progress on BC beta emulation. Seems like they have somethings working already. If anyone is itching to play and cant wait for jan07 I'll post whatever updates I can on here for ya.

I wouldn't mind getting hooked up with the emulation :P

immp Oct 24, 2006 04:50 PM

While we wait for more solid beta emulation, theres a nice 2gb beta waiting to get downloaded: http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/artic...-download.html

rpgcrazied Oct 24, 2006 04:55 PM

but dont you need a key to even log in?

Greykin Oct 24, 2006 05:46 PM

Hmm, the main reason the delay bothers me is that I won't be able to play it during the winter break. So when it does come out, I expect a very polished finished product :P.

........ I'm also bothered because I can't play blood elves yet to do that cool napolean dance :(.

When you run the emulator it makes the server on your own computer so you can set the passwords and all that. There is a private beta server running that I found but odds are its on horrible hardware, and I think the user limit at one time is something around 30 people. Its usually offline so I havent bothered to join up.

Alternate download link =p : https://beta.worldofwarcraft.com/expansion/downloads/

So how do you run the emulator on your computer then? and will WoW model viewer still work with this so I can delete the alpha?

Did a BRD run today to get some people in the guild a run through, and we got to the arena. The boss was some Orc, don't remember seeing him come out before. He ended up dropping some mail epic chest. Being the only primary mail wearer in the group (Shaman), I ended up with it. It was actually pretty sweet, but I hate epics cause now it's getting more and more expensive to repair. :(

Oh I also was going to say that I saw a blue post about more info on how to aquire T4. Apparently the bosses that are set to drop the pieces, will drop a "token" for that slot. (Like say, the "token" is for warrior shoulders.) You then turn that into some vendor or something and you get a choice. You can either get the tanking shoulders or shoulders that have DPS stats. This is to let people have access to T4 gear, without it being one-sided in stats. Kinda like how all druid sets are mainly healing, if a druid "token" falls, then they can turn it in for set pieces that allow either DPS or healing, etc...

I think that's a nifty idea, myself. Also it looks like Karazhan is open in the beta. The mobs in the area are no longer 59-60, but 69-70. Looks like you need to be 68 and have some key to get in and the crypt part is no longer having where you can die and rez past. (going by a post I saw on the beta forums)

id like to know too.. is there anyway to play it offline? id like to get a peek at some of the new stuff.. other players or not. i have 20mins to go on the beta client d/l

immp Oct 25, 2006 06:29 PM

Currently there is nothing out there that allows you to play it offline...that is user friendly and not heavy on the SQL and C++
There are some servers being run by people but they are laggy, lacking most npcs and mobs and are usually down 80% of the time.

rpgcrazied Oct 25, 2006 06:35 PM

oh well :P well its d/l.. if i ever get a key from blizz, im set

dagget Oct 25, 2006 09:03 PM

GO GO GADGET QUEUES!

300+ queue for T-Horn. Blagh. 10 minutes, then 3 then 25. :(

rpgcrazied Oct 25, 2006 09:10 PM

lol 280 on whisperwind.. can you imagine day 1 of tbc? *shudder*

immp Oct 25, 2006 10:12 PM

Wow I havent seen queues since I transfered servers last year. I almost miss em!

The_Griffin Oct 26, 2006 01:05 AM

I haven't seen queues since I deleted my characters on Burning Legion and started only playing on Thorium Brotherhood.

RP servers FTW~

I've yet to see a queue from Illidan(US). It's an old school server that got upgraded recently. I wonder what will happen when TBC comes out.

Just join a guild that completes or almost clears Naxxramas if you have 5/8 tier 2 or better. There are a lot of things to do at 60. :P

rpgcrazied Oct 30, 2006 07:05 PM

have any of you, in the last week or so.. find a pumpkin bag? :P 16slot bag, one just dropped for me at hearthglen.

I'm kind of bummed that the expansion was pushed back (again?). I'd have actually let my account lapse until January if I had known, but since I'm already signed up for another 6 months, I'm kind of SOL on that. So... half of my 6 months will be wasted for only raiding on Saturdays with an alt guild... Well worth my money! ...

The_Griffin Oct 31, 2006 04:02 PM

...They posted that info a week ago.

I sincerely hoping that you didn't refresh your account between then and now.

Of course not. It refreshed in the beginning of October, while the expansion was still 'on track' for November.
