I don't want to hijack the thread or something... (I already used the search button) but I am lost at the moment...

ISO ---> PSP? Homebrew guides I found rather gives me list of games that is able to run on their program... where do I start? :eagletear:

chato Nov 1, 2007 04:34 PM

For Isos , just put them in the ISO folder in the root of our psp mem-stick. Homebrew emulators would go to PSP>GAME(or GAME150) and that's about it..

Kimchi Nov 1, 2007 04:51 PM

Holy smokes, so let's see if I got this cleared up.

Homebrew -> Emulators for other stuff?

ISO -> Just stick it in folder and play it. (without downgrade or any modification of PSP/PSP Filmware)

chato Nov 1, 2007 05:06 PM

Well... your psp has to have a cfw.

Homebrew -- > Just follow what I said in my other post.

Iso -> Samething. Only you have to make the ISO folder yourself in the ROOT (As in-- the folder that pops out with folders such as PSP,ISO,MV100 .

Kimchi Nov 1, 2007 05:13 PM

Well I am running on Lite, I did not have up/downgrade... I should be able to run DJ Max, DJ MAX2 and FFCC?

How can I check the root? (or will the file have the correct root on them once I extract them?)

And for last... how can I check for the cfw?

Yes I know ._. I am asking bunch of noobish questions:eagletear:... after this... probably no more questions for awhile

Sepharite Nov 1, 2007 05:22 PM

To check the firmware of your PSP, go to the far left of the menu: System Settings - System Information - System Software. If you have a m33 or OE next to the firmware, then you have a custom. But I'm assuming you just brought it through a normal retail, so you'll have to downgrade it using the Pandora battery. First you'll need to find someone with a fat PSP capable of homebrew in order to continue.

Kimchi Nov 1, 2007 05:52 PM

Lawl, so it is GG for me.

EDIT: How to create a Pandora Battery and Slim Mem Stick WITHOUT a Phat PSP! - MaxConsole Forums

That will work without phat, right? ._____.

Sepharite Nov 3, 2007 01:56 AM

That would work, but I'd do it only if I trusted my soldering skills.

Anyways, this is probably a really really odd question, but does FFVIII work on the PSP now? As in, does it not freeze anymore? Also, if I have to change the GameID, how can I change the ID of the game save, if that's possible.

I too would love to know this; I see possible methods of fixing the crashes everywhere followed by intense arguments of whether they work or not, it would be nice if someone were to share what they did (if they could) to get the game functioning without crashes.

Kimchi Nov 3, 2007 12:42 PM

Ah S.o.b. Must I really solder the battery? Can't I just cut it off?

ApOkwARG Nov 3, 2007 09:09 PM

It doesn't matter what you do, all you need to do is to make sure the connection is gone. "I heated mine up with a soldering iron then lifted it with a tip of a razor blade, then removed it completely from the ic chip as I dont intend to use it as a normal battery."

Basically what the author does is removing things in a very clean way. Thanks to the heat of the soldering iron the solder will melt so the connection can be easily removed, but he can remove the solder leftovers as well. Since you won't be opening up your battery after the process ever again, just cut it away the quick and dirty way.

This is how you change the gamesave ID. Specifically this post tells you how.

Kimchi Nov 4, 2007 08:36 PM

Oh-Em-Gee, thanks a lot guys!

ShotoMindTricks Nov 5, 2007 02:25 PM

if you make the pandora battery using this method, can you mod a fat?

So, I have 3.40 OE-A CFW, is there any reason to upgrade to 3.52-m33-4 CFW?

So far the only games that give me problems are old releases, but I have been informed that I can "reboot" my firware using the recovery mode so those game will work again.

Is it worth it for me to upgrade my firmware?

Hey does anyone know a good site that can explain how I can do this cfw thing for the psp slim?

I got mine yesterday (black one) and other then the cfw I tried out Darkstalkers and other 2d fighters. They play real good using the d-pad. For those who are curious that is..

All it takes is 5 seconds on google and common sense to find the link: PSP Screenshot plug-in for 3.71 M33 » PSP Slim Hacks

Anywho, I started playing my PSX games on my m33 firmware. And before I play, it asks me if I want to convert as I previously played them in the OE firmware. Should I or should I not convert?

Yeah, convert it. Nothing's going to happen. I was asked that when I upgraded 3.40 OE to 3.52 M33-4.

Sepharite Nov 5, 2007 06:01 PM

Cool thanks.

Also, I know I'm being an ass because I already posted this a few posts up.

I think DA released a psx prx plugin for 3.52 I think(check pspupdates or psp-hacks.com) that would have most of the ps1 isos work perfectly. Some of them you would have to go to recovery menu to remove the SCE logo cause it usually freezes there. For FF8, I read a few forums saying that it works perfectly under 3.52 m33-4. I can't acknowledge that since I haven't tried it for myself. Make sure the iso's not a PAL version but a NTSC.

Also I want to know if you know anything about hackin the psp slim ^^;. Don't wanna do anything wrong before I fuck it up ;p.

EDIT : Aside from all this bs, There's a new Daedalus 13 release (n64 emulator) along with a new MAME4ALL update. Anyone every tried out the n64 emu?

Yes, thank you for linking me to a website where the fucking download link doesn't do anything but redirect to some gpSP application and the source is dead.

File Details-Screenshot-Plugin-for-3.71-M33-CFW-v2-PSP-Homebrew-Applications -
this one works, Elixir.

Also, don't get angry at Sepharite, he's not the one that screwed up the file linking on his link.

Sepharite Nov 6, 2007 10:20 AM

There was a link inside that link that provides a Sendspace download. But okay. xD
