I think it was actually made in one of Ubi's actual French dev houses, and not Ubisoft Montreal.
Wiki seems to agree, but I can't find more info on that to back it up. |
I bought some Saturn games the other day. In a Target store. Buried in the PSP section. On the 'hot new releases' shelf. In 2008.
http://i33.tinypic.com/2vnl6ya.jpg Saturn games. :cmb: They also had some basketball game, Slam & Jam? More like Rejected & Continue to Rot Next To Force Unleashed lloalaiaiuauiaua. |
Today, I picked up The Witcher: Enhanced Edition. It seems like a year since I played the demo. Then, I waited for the price to drop but it stopped at $30 and didn't go any lower so I waited. Now, that patience has been rewarded. :D More info on this edition: The Witcher Enhanced Edition for PC - The Witcher Enhanced Edition PC Game - The Witcher Enhanced Edition Computer Game and http://www.thewitcher.com/community/ I actually went in to see if I was going to purchase WAR as an impulse buy and when I saw this sitting right next to it on the shelf it was no contest. The last PC game I purchased was Oblivion, at release. Man, it's been awhile my old friend PC...

Purchased a Greatest Hits copy of Final Fantasy VII. Almost perfect condition. The Jewel case a bit of a scratch across the front, but all three of the discs are fine. Found the king of all second hand stores in my city, it has everything i could ever want. The guy told me he puts up a copy of FFVII and it's gone by the end of the day. I picked it up two hours after he put it in the show case. The price was a little high, but i'm not complaining.

I live in Winnipeg as well, so which store is this? (And how much did he charge you. FF7 isn't worth very much, so I'm just trying to see if you got ripped off.)
It's not PNP games is it? (Please say no) |
yes it is PNP Games. I picked it up for $80.
I looked on Ebay after the fact, and frankly the differences in prices doesn't bother me much. If i got ripped off, it wasn't huge. |
Fuck, I editted it in too late.
Yeah, PNP overcharges like a motherfucker. They do a lot of eBay auctions too, pretty much all of which are ridiculous prices. 80 is a tad (and by a tad I mean a fuckload) too much for a copy of FF7, my friend. Edit: I remember them trying to sell a cart only Chrono Trigger when they first opened for close to a hundred bucks. I lul'd. I think there was an incomplete Star Ocean 2 there (without manual) for like...50 or something? I can't remember exactly. Regardless, it's another ripoff center. There are plenty of non-eBay routes to go where you can get some actual, y'know, decent prices instead of this. It's like microplay. I don't know how they can even keep their doors open with their hilarity prices. |
I wouldn't go by Ebay auctions for FF7 . . . I figure most people are trying to rip off unsuspecting fanboys, considering how Square made/sold a fuckton of copies of that game, so if you can't get a used one in decent condition for $25 US max, you aren't looking right.
|
What would you say is a good price for that game? I did see a lot of stuff i thought was a little over priced there, and i was wary about FFVII, but it's the first time i've ever seen a physical copy of FFVII since i was around 14 years old.
(Also, this doesn't really bother me all that much. In the end i'm pretty easy going with my money) EDIT: can you recommend a better place for that kind of thing Skills? (i'm assuming that's skills there, i'm not really sure anymore) |
Oh, I'm glad you don't feel ripped off. I just laughed at the prices when I went in there that one time about a year back. As long as you think you got your money's worth, it's none of my business to tell you otherwise.
Also, 80 would have made sense if it were factory sealed. Wvlf's got the right idea. 30 bucks as a max for what sounds like a 7 or 8/10 as far as condition goes. And that's still pushing the upperbound past any sort of reasonable amount. Edit: In the city? There are none, unfortunately. Online deal shopping is the best bet you're gonna get. Asking around at places like CAG trading lists is also a good idea, and very rarely will eBay have a good deal. PS1 games are exceptionally common, especially numbered Final Fantasy games, so it won't be too hard to track down. Also yeah, that's me. |
I remember when you could buy greatest hits FFVII for like ten American dollars. That was a much simpler time. Ah yes, the year was 2008. I'm kind of old though, so many of you may not remember the year 2008.

Devil May Cry 4 for PS3: $13 or $17.
Assassin's Creed for PS3: $20. Mint condition used from GameFly. Like, perfect. I'm mad satisfied. The only thing is, I won't be able to play them for a month. |
Target near me just dropped Guitar Hero Rocks the 80s for the PS2 (only console it's out for, right?) to $20, so while I was in there I picked up a copy of that.

de Blob's pretty much the best Wii game since F-Zero X. Plus THQ threw in a sex doll with it. Yakuza 2 is still in the shrink wrap because my PS2 has been unplugged to make way for Saturn and his goon faced friends. Perhaps one day I will consume a power board with more space for things. But that's a goal for the future nowhere within my grasp. Speaking of Saturn, Dragon's Lair isn't one. That's too bad. Pure and Burgers in Arms: Helga's Highway for 360 are in the mail. Somewhere. Somewhere in the mail. Region free games. <3 |
Fourteen new dildos: $65
...I kid. Rather, I ended up buying: Halo 3 LE [the black metal box]: $45 Dead Rising: $20 Bioshock: $25 Assassin's Creed: $20 I think I'll be occupied for a while. |
Last Saturday I bought 'Iron Man', 'The Incredible Hulk', and 'Assassin's Creed' at Gamestop. The store had a buy two get one free deal on used games. All three are for the 360. I got 'Assassin's Creed' for free and paid $35 each for the other two. I havn't played 'Assassin's Creed' yet, but the other two are entertaining. 'Hulk' is a sand-box type game. 'Iron Man' is more strait forward. Point A to Point B. The one annoying thing about 'Iron Man' is the amount of enemies the game throws at the player. Way too many.

Was my most recent acquisition. Took me like 2 serious sitdowns (over 3 days) to complete for 625/1000 achievements. Was fun but seriously flawed in a lot of areas. And god I wish it was an M-rated game with blood and dismemberment. ;( http://www.ebgames.com/common/images/lbox/190120b.jpg Is the game I'm actually playing at the moment. It's my first Ys I've tried playing, and I must say I dig it. Which is terrible since that means (knowing me!) I'll acquire all the good games in the series and make my backlog even more unmanageable. :( |

Finally. Found a used copy in some EB not so far away. The box is all right, but the manual and game are in pretty good condition. $20. |
It's payday so I went out and bought Lego Batman on 360. I also ordered Final Fantasy XII:Revanant Wings off Amazon as they only wanted £7.50 for it and I'll need something to play on the train when I finish Final Fantasy Tactics.
|
I also just appeased Clover Studios by ordering Okami from Amazon (£6.50, get in!).
|
Now that's value for money, god damn. I'm a good 30 hours in and I'm still only 3/4 through.
|
Okami's a great game, for sure. I paid full price for it and still felt like I more than got my money's worth.
In other news, while it's not a "purchase" I did receive a free copy of Far Cry 2 for the 360. Publisher sent it out a week early as a free gift. |
Yeah, Amazon (Well Amazon shops anyway) seem to sell of rpgs incredibly cheap. Both of those I bought are brand new sealed copies too.
|
Well, last thing I bought was FVII Crisis Core for the PSP, I think. I've liked FVII a lot, so I thought 'Why not?', and I just bought it. Take that:cool:
And yes, I liked it, I'm now in my second playthrough:p Graphics are good, story is not too short, only the I believe 100+ extra missions get a tad repetitive after some time. The only really weird thing about the game is that at some point, there is a guy who tries to eat your hair in order to stay alive:erm: I guess Square-Enix was sniffing coke at that time. |

No, no. It's fine. I'll wait. |
