66 damage to the dracolich. I might have actually killed it in six(ish) swings!
Additional Spam: I like how slave is a viable career exit from burgher in WFR. |
Has GFZ already used his second wind this encounter? If he has, a heal check won't be able to help him much. Only an actual heal from Slim would get him back up.
|
GFZ has his second wind, but the Dracolich will probably coup de grace for lulz.
|
That and I'm all out of heals for this fight. So you know try not to die everybody.
|
I guess I'll try to wake his ass up on my turn then. Seems to be my job for this fight since I do crap damage anyway.
|
Was that bat thing an encounter move? Every little helps when it comes to hitting the damn thing.
|
It was a daily. And I did use it again during this encounter. Unfortunately when Garold got dominated it didn't get sustained, so it's gone now.
|
I'm just going to go right ahead and submit that this dragon is pretty much the worst thing ever. Seriously it can go eat a whole bag of dicks.
|
The dragon is indeed a bit of a bitch. I love how this dungeon is basically pussy fight, traps traps traps traps traps, pussy fight, NOW YOU DEAD SUCKAS. I suspect that if we avoid a team KO here it'll be more luck than judgement, although if we beat the whole dungeon with as comically an unbalanced party as we had there's got to be some kudos earned. Deni, do you get good bonuses for sneak attacks because we might as well use the hide in plain sight card while we're here.
Roll on WFR where we can get brutally murdered by common footpads with no need for big dragons or anything. A burgher is just a slightly-not-as-scummy peasant, right? Do I get a rapier and fencing skill with that? |
To be fair we did start this fight separated out and with our tank staring at walls for two rounds straight. I'm honestly amazed we're still alive this far in especially with that dominate move screwing up what little tactics we do have. This is mayhaps the right time for that now you fucked up card though.

I get to use sneak attack if I have CA, yes.

Pretty much, yeah. It works both ways though, with the dice on your side you can butcher your way through literally legions of soft bad guys. There's none of this fancy skills malarky though, you just chop away at the monsters until they explode into chunks. Any game system where becoming a proper wizard (Rather than just an apprentice) requires years of in-game study and there's a chance you can go permanently insane each time you cast one of the really hardcore spells can only suit the GFF style of play well. As a charcoal burner, if you're lucky your possessions will include some clothes and an axe (That you're not trained to use in combat) and even then your actual stats are completely randomly generated. If Pang's WFR campaign goes anything like the ones we used to play at school, the backup players list is going to get recycled a hell of a lot more often.

Awesome.
Do we get to flesh out our own backgrounds? Nationality and shit like that? I think I'll go for a Kislevite if so. If you're going to be a peasant you might as well be a Russian one. |
Yeah, I've just been drawing up random Empire backgrounds for everyone but if you have a preference we'll roll with that instead. A burgher is more middle-class than peasant, really small-scale merchants or craftsmen mostly.
|
I feel like i've tried WFR before, actually. i vaguely remember it having a lot of strange dice. Am i on the right track, or totally off? and if i am right, how are we planning to do the dice rolling?
|
If it was in the last 3 years or so you probably played 3rd edition WFRP which does have a lot of unique dice and cards and other doodads, to cut down on piracy I suppose. We're doing 2nd ed which uses percentile dice (2d10) for nearly everything.
Plus, you can be a bear. http://www.saxypunch.com/missile2/youcanbeabear.png |
With our dice roller that'd be a D100 rather than 2D10.
It's quite interesting reading through my first edition rulebook to see how much all the background fluff changed and was codified when they released the army books for the second edition of Warhammer Fantasy Battle. Say what you want about Games Workshop but the effort that's gone into refining their two game universes over the years is fucking impressive. |
Beefi should really use the "Now You Fucked Up" card. At this point it'll last to the end of the encounter or until Beefi gets KO'd, as Slim isn't getting back up. Now it's just a question of whether or not the encounter ends before he dies.
|
I'm pretty sure I'm still regenerating while I lay there. Of course that still means at least 4 or 5 turns until I'm back on my feet. By that point we'll either be dead or victorious anyway.
