Yeah, I always have one on hand. They're so convenient--Blocking items, annoying people... annoying people more.

Wow, Fox looks great, although I dunno what's up with his shoes. It's a far better improvement over his design in Star Fox Command.

I'm still not keen on getting a Wii yet though.

chaofan Nov 5, 2006 07:04 AM

Personally, I prefer the ssbm design of Fox but, ne whatever. As long as he's similar to the SSBM Fox in terms of control, then all's well (epic battles with my evenly matched bro!)

Hopefully they release new info on other characters. I'm growing a bit tired of watching the first SSBB trailer over and over again (Samus butt-candy ain't old yet though).

PsychoJosh Nov 7, 2006 06:32 AM

Yes, I can't wait until they announce Pimple from the Battletoads either.

Dalkaen Nov 7, 2006 07:50 AM

I wouldn't mind seeing another F-Zero character. Captain Falcon needs a rival of some sort. Samurai Goroh, perhaps? They showed him in the opening for SSBM.

Actually his 4 year old evil clone Blood Falcon would be a perfect character as well...

Except he was practically one of Falcon's alternate costumes, minus the facial features (aka evil grin and all).

chaofan Nov 8, 2006 02:23 AM

I'd say Pico and Samurai Goroh could make good additions to the character list... But lately they've been adding quite a lot of sword-based characters... Then perhaps James McCloud (hint hint)? Or maybe that prancer Jack Levin?

I just recently mastered the art of Jigglypuff's Down B move. They'd better not remove her!!!

NovaX Nov 8, 2006 05:47 AM

Mr. EAD would be ultimate win.

The new gameplay footage looks awesome. There's a lot they aren't showing us, but it so far still looks like a Smash Bros game, which is good.

I'm pretty stoked.

Dalkaen Nov 8, 2006 03:48 PM

Blood Falcon wouldn't be a very good choice, since he'd probably just end up being a clone. And more clones is the last thing we need. In fact, I'm hoping they make some of the clones more unique this time around. Give Ganondorf a sword, make him less like Captain Falcon.

I say someone from the Maximum Velocity generation be added. Lord Cyber! Kent Akechi!

Oh what's the point of having another F-Zero character? In those games you always play as the cars themselves, I don't really care about any character development the games may have involving Captain Falcon space bounty chase. It just reads like really bad sci-fi manga.

I think the Blue Falcon itself should be a character instead of any of the pilots.

chaofan Nov 9, 2006 07:55 AM

Well, I'd take it that people would want more "new" characters in the "new" installment of the Smash series. Most series in the roster have pretty much been covered.

Mario and Pokemon are the only series in the game that I'd have trouble including characters from. The point of having another F-Zero character is that not only would it add a new character and a help represent the F-Zero series, it might bring in a new style of play. Remember when the Fire Emblem duo were introduced into SSBM? I ended using them the most.

I think they should explore more characters with the F-Zero, Fire Emblem, Metroid and Donkey Kong series, as well as bring in some retro characters.

IN OTHER NEWS I'd like to see what Nobuo Uematsu is going to do with the soundtrack of SSBB. Hirokazu Ando's music was brilliant but inconsistent at times (e.g. the end of the score did not link with the start). Wait, is Nobuo Uematsu doing the soundtrack or was he just composing for the trailer?

immp Nov 9, 2006 11:04 AM

It'd be nice if he was doing arrangements of all the level themes and all the original ssb music but everywhere I read it sounds like he was only responsible for the theme.

I want more clones!

In regards to Pokemon, Lucario and Deoxys would like to remedy you of your problems. Lucario's fairly popular, as is Deoxys, and both of them have varied enough movesets to make the cut for Brawl. Also each generation needs at least one represenative. IF they ditch Pichu I'm not sure who's going to represent generation II though...

Lizardcommando Nov 9, 2006 12:19 PM

If there were going to be new Metroid characters in SSBB, who would they add in? The Hunters from Metroid Prime: Hunters?

...Ridley?:annoyed:

Actually, I wouldn't mind if one of those Hunters from Metroid Prime: Hunters showed up.

Oh come on. You know the guys who make SSB are creative. They'll come up with something. They did for Captain Falcon after all. They could do the same for another F-Zero character. What's the point of having any new characters! Let's just stop making the games altogether! F-Zero needs more representation. So does Earthbound.

F-Zero could use at least one more character in the game, imo. Just Captain Falcon makes it kind of boring.

I wouldn't mind some Mario RPG characters, like Geno. Or some Paper Mario, for that matter.

Dalkaen Nov 9, 2006 02:04 PM

SMRPG characters would be awesome of course, but since most of those characters are owned by Square, it's most likely not happening.

I agree, whats the point in having four player team battles when some of the characters dont even have partners from their original series....

Omnislash124 Nov 9, 2006 08:48 PM

I don't get the argument for that. They don't NEED at least two from every game they've included. See Ness, Snake, Captain Falcon, Game & Watch, Pit, Samus, Ice Climbers (techincally Popo/Nana, but they're all one character).

I wouldn't try to forcefully add anything that doesn't need to be there. Besides, I hardly believe this iteration will be as drastic as the difference from SSB to SSBM. They don't need to double the cast, because that might be a bit too massive.

deadally Nov 9, 2006 09:15 PM

Ness and Paula would complement each other well ingame.

Hell, put the whole Mother 2 quartet in there!

Dalkaen Nov 9, 2006 09:33 PM

Paula would be nice, but you're forgetting that Ness basically stole all of her potential moves.
