Just bought myself a brand new PSP for $117 off eBay. The irony comes in when I used Microsoft Live's Cashback program for the discount (25%), then stacked on a 10% discount from eBay. Just bought it yesterday, so I'm waiting for it to come in.

Planning on picking up Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions with this first.

Other ones I'm planning on eventually include Jeanne D'Arc, Valkyrie Profile: Lenneth, Final Fantasy I (possibly II with that), and Disgaea: Afternoon of Darkness. And More than likely, Yggdra Union when it releases. Any other recommendations? Despite what I listed above, I'm open to non-RPG titles, though if you have more RPGs to list, I'd love to hear suggestions.

Found P.N.03 at the second hand store near my house. Further proof that second hand stores and bargain bins are gold mines.

I know own all four of the Capcom5 games that were released. I really like the other three i've played, and i'm eagerly awaiting a block of time in which i can sit down and play through this one.

Grabed a Logitech Vantage USB Headset so I can join in and talk while playing Metal Gear Online! :)

NinjaguyDan Jul 26, 2008 07:57 AM

I bought Okami! It's pretty cool even though I've only played it for like 30 mins.

Kolba Jul 26, 2008 08:53 AM

I just got the Gradius collection for my PSP. £13 for I, II, III, IV and Gaiden is pretty great, and I got easily bored of sorting through menus in FFT so this is a good replacement.

You know, I rented that game when it first came out and I loved it. However that was ages ago, and I passed up my opportunities to buy it a few times. So a few months back, I went to EB Games with the intent to purchase that a long with Eternal Darkness and it turns out those games are completely hard to find now (I haven't purchased a Gamecube game since Twilight Princess.) So I've been checking around second hand stores, pawn shops to find those two games specifically, seems like these games aren't anywhere were I live or I'm just not looking in the right places.

Anyways, my latest gaming purchases are:

iCon VGA Wire - $45 Xbox 360
Personally, I feel ripped off as I found the official wire for the exact same price at a Jumbo Video. Either way, this wire works fine and my Xbox 360 looks great on my monitor.

Keep in mind these two games below I got as gifts:

Ninja Gaiden 2 - $60 Xbox 360
I played the demo of this game and instantly fell in love. Personally I feel the graphics are kind of lacking, however the game play makes up for it. I love the over the top violence, closest I'll ever get to a Kill Bill game. :)

Unreal Tournament 3 - $60 Xbox 360
My PC is a piece of shit and can't play this game; I don't own a PS3 either. Me being a huge fan of Unreal Tournament 2004, I really wanted to get this when I heard it was being released for th 360. While the lack of user-created maps and no mouse and keyboard support may have felt disappointing, the core experience is still there and I'm loving the graphics.

I found both of those games completely on luck. When looking for those kinds of games you have to find a bunch of second hand stores (including EBs and Gamestops) and be prepared to check each one at least once a week. It doesn't hurt to call in and ask. It also turns out that mall stores get more trade ins than stand alone stores. Don't ask me why, but according to most EB employees, this is true.

Hey guys, vidya games from the past few weeks. Also a bit of dog tail. That's not a recent game purchase. Unless. No. Yes. I found a place to mawd chup my PS2 for a decent price. Now I regret not getting this done years ago, Sega love still exists in the depths of Japan it seems.

Metal Gear Solid 4 - I dunno, I'll try and cook a meal with it soon. Maybe tomorrow! So far I've just been going OOOOOH and playing the Chef Game & Watch game it has in it.

Guilty Gear Judgement - FAUST FAUST FAUST BRIDGET BRIDGET BRIDGET. $12 reduced from $80 so yeah. The side scrolling beat 'em up is pretty alright!

Wipeout Pulse - been ages since I've played a Wipeout game. Controls are as bad as ever, but it's still awesome. Looks really good for a PSP game, too!

NiGHTS - <3 <3

Weird Arcade Machine Trapped In Swirly Lines Of Doom - only got it because it was reduced to $6, it's nothing more than a SINGLE arcade game on the disc. Terra Cresta, a shoot 'em up where you can upgrade your ship as you go along. Includes extra stuff to make the package seem less of a complete rip-off;

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y13...bort/jj010.jpg

A music CD and a speed-run DVD. THEY'RE SO TINY. :cmb:

Oneechanbara 2 - never been able to find the PAL version, so! The gates sure are a pain to open.

Elemental Pinball - prrreeeeetty terrible.

Sega Ages: Galaxy Force II - seems to be about Galaxy Force II. I fucking love Galaxy Force II. It includes every version of it plus a remake!

Sega Ages: Memorial Selection - five Sega games nobody remembers, remade with todays modern silicon chips. Actually they still look pretty crap, like Flash games. But Penguin Land!

Sega Ages: Monster World Complete Collection - erection.

Crackdown - flaccid. I've been trying to enjoy this, but Hulk Ultimate Destruction did it all so much better years ago.

Edit: oh man I already showed Wipeout when I bought it weeks ago. I'm totally with it!

map car man words telling me to do things Jul 28, 2008 02:13 AM

But but but Blackdown is awesome ;_;

Gather more athletics bonuses to do omegajumps hooray! And impound more vehicles. BECAUSE.

Owning a PSP and not owning one of the Lumines games should be a criminal offence.

And I agree with Qwarky, Crackdown is an awesome game. Even better when you play it co-op (If a little easy). Nothing beats leaping 300ft from rooftop to rooftop killing criminals with homing missiles that wipe out everything in the street as you go, nothing.

dagget Jul 29, 2008 01:20 PM

I just picked up Final Fantasy Tactics for the PSP knocked down to $20.

Not much else except for Final Fantasy IV DS and Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 for $10 new at gamestop a couple weeks ago.

Sousuke Jul 29, 2008 07:29 PM

Picked up [finally] Persona 3: FES today. Now I just have to get into a gaming mood and start playing it.

Summonmaster Jul 30, 2008 01:39 PM

Soul Calibur IV picked up from pre-order at Gamestop yesterday.
There's something about it that strikes me as unpolished. Perhaps it's the removal of the silly loading screen character shouts, or the fact that you have to unlock the other 1/2-2/3 of the character select screen by purchasing characters (Amy I can understand, but Talim!?), or maybe even thhe fact that it's harder to overkill an opponent since extra hits after KO don't register as easily. Nonetheless, it's still another installment that I had to have.

UltimaIchijouji Jul 30, 2008 01:49 PM

Shit Games I bought are Devil May Cry 2 and Drakengard 2 just for the sake of having. $9.99 and $12.99 respectively, used from Gamestop. Pretty glad though, the DMC2 was black label.

Good games I bought are Skies of Arcadia Legends, Pikmin 2 and Polarium off of eBay. I think $30, $18, and $10 or so respectively after shipping? I can't wait for the former two, since I've wanted to play them for awhile.

I bought Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions from Amazon a little over two weeks ago and i still hasn't shipped. I'd cancel and order it from the new dealer but then I'd lose my free two-day shipping since my Amazon Prime ran out. It's supposed to ship next week or so. I still don't have a PSP though. :(

Lastly, I really WANT Soul Calibur IV LE, but I need to buy my AppleCare soon so I don't know if it's worth it. I still have all of today to think about how I can patch together the money for both since I didn't reserve. Gotta wait for retards to forget they reserved it and not pick it up.

edit//Got Soul Calibur IV for PS3 today. Was around the corner from a Gamestop and figured I'd see if they had it and I lucked up, because they did. The salesperson tried to get me to sell him my T-shirt for $10 and I laughed at him. All the way out of the store.

I was pretty disappointed with the "art book" which was printed really badly and had a stupid tie-in comic? I was expecting something that was actually nice. Oh well.

edit 2//Got Ikaruga for Gamecube off eBay for $32 including shipping. I've wanted this for a while, and even though there's no way I'll ever 100% this game in my lifetime, it's great to know I can try (without being a pirate). Can't wait for that to get here.

My FFT also shipped, and with all the new PSP games I've gotten, I think it's about time I splurge and get a new one.

Next up: Playstation Portable Piano Black PSP-2000, Pikmin 2, Digital Devil Saga 2, Soul Calibur III, Kirby: Canvas Curse, etc...

Sousuke Jul 31, 2008 06:33 PM

Xbox 360 get! I found a 360 Elite on Tuesday for $350, so I picked that up today, along with Blue Dragon and Eternal Sonata. Also a wireless adapter thing that I can hopefully get to work with it. Didn't feel like paying $100 or whatever for the official one, so hopefully this one works.

UltimaIchijouji Aug 6, 2008 11:12 PM

Fairly disappointed.

I got home and got three of my purchases recently:

1) The FFT:WotL from Amazon is a Greatest Hits version. Not that serious.

2) The Skygunner is in only fair condition. The bottom of the case art is worn, and the case itself is in pretty shitty condition. The manual has a sticker that it looks like the seller tried to remove and couldn't do properly. On top of that there was some sort of grime around the disc that i had to remove with my finger. Common sense much?

When I tried to remove the sticker grime from the manual it ripped off a small patch of the paper so its just white there. The game is rare enough with the case and manual, so chances of me finding manual alone online are slim.

I'm kind of pissed over this one but it was only $15, so if I end up buying another one (which I probably will) it won't be that much of a loss.

3) The Skies of Arcadia: Legends was terrible. The boxart was wavy and the manual was wavy. The game had a significant amount of scratches. For something described as "EXCELLENT CONDITION WITH WAVES," this is pretty shitty. I'm not paying $30 for this and have asked for my money back. That was just unacceptable.

At least the Pikmin and Polarium were in great condition, although I was looking forward to playing SoL: Legends and now I'm fairly disappointed. Hopefully I get my money back and quick so I can try again.

Now we have to see how Jet Grind Radio and Ikaruga turn out. Definitely a lot more wary of eBay after this run-in.

edit// Ikaruga came today. Pretty decent condition. The manual has a few folds in it that I'm trying to flatten. Case in pretty decent condition but I just ordered a new one from Nintendo. Disc and boxart are fine, so I'm glad. Going to keep it.

Chaotic Aug 7, 2008 01:24 AM

As of recently, just Soul Calibur IV. Currently halfway through story mode with the characters and from Nightmare down (going left to right) is what's left.

TheKnightOfNee Aug 9, 2008 07:13 PM

There's a local folk music festival going on this weekend, so in an attempt to draw in the crowds, the used game shop near me had a buy two, get one free sale. Also, they just got in a handful of older RPGs, so I figured it would be a good idea to take advantage of this!

I first picked out Brave Fencer Musashi, which is a game I had a hankering to try when it was first released, but never found. Then I saw Front Mission 3, which I've heard a lot of good things about, and figured I'd give a shot. And then I grabbed Illusion of Gaia, which was my free game thanks to the sale. I've played Terranigma, and a little bit of Soul Blazer, but never IoG, so I'm really excited to give this a shot.

Chaotic Aug 9, 2008 09:30 PM

Picked up The Orange Box the other day. Not bad getting it for 25 bux used.

Dark Nation Aug 9, 2008 09:35 PM

Haven't posted in this thread in a while, seeing as how my journal functions as the same thing, but might as well get it noted down here too.

I got from another GFF member the following games: Brave Fencer Musashi, Threads of Fate, Thunder Force V, Strider 2 for Playstation games. For other systems, I also bought Burnout Revenge for the 360, Resident Evil Zero for the GC, Picross DS and Wipeout Pure. Thanks to SailorDaravon for selling me all of those =)

Before that, I had also recently gotten last month Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard.

KnightofNee: Front Mission 3 is pretty fun, I had it at one point (Not sure what became of it >_> ), and I'm going to try and get into BFM as well at some point soon.

Angel of Light Aug 10, 2008 10:04 PM

Boy did I end up purchasing quite a lot over the last week. Especially today.

I took my friends advice and decided to go to the flea market incredibly early.

In terms of video game system. I have now added an Atari with 10 games and also a Sega Saturn.

The game I picked up was Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo. The game they had for the sega saturn that I wanted really badly but they only had the game itself not the case and the manual and for a collector like me thats just unacceptable. The game is Dragon Force for $40. I remember Denicalis saying that it was such a great and under-appreciated RPG for the Sega Saturn. He'll probably end up killing me for not getting it at such a good price.

In terms of the Atari games I picked up:
1.) Asteroids
2.) Defender
3.) Keystone Capers
4.) Missle Command
5.) Yars Revenge
6.) E.T.
7.) Plaque Attack

and a few others.

I also ended up picking up Final Fantasy IV (DS) & The Legend Of Heroes III (PSP)

No. Hard Pass. Aug 10, 2008 11:39 PM

I'm going to come to your house, rape your weeaboo wife to death with a faux-katana (which is no doubt in your house somewhere), and then I'm going to duct tape you to a chair, put on stuck in the middle with you and cut on you with a knife until you learn your fucking lesson. Alternatively, if I'm feeling magnanamous, I may just hook electrodes up to your nutsack and shock you in time to Wein's Theme.

Walk the fuck back there and buy it. Possibly one of the three greatest games of all time.

I just bought Guitar Hero 3 with a guitar controller for 360 for £35 from GAME. Now all I have to do is get home from work to play it...

Will probably pick up Soul Calibur IV on friday when I get paid and I noticed that there were a bunch of copies of Lost Odessey in the clearance rack for £15 so I might grab that too.

If you ever fancy a game online, give me a shout. Mind you, not played any GH3 for a while since picking up Rock Band.

Bought Silverfall and the expansion on Steam.
