It's actually Crystal Defenders R1 (Round 1). That's right, Square-Enix has found a way to price gouge even more on this game. On iPhone, you can get all 3 rounds for $8, and all three rounds are available on XBLA for $10. Why in the hell are they charging $24 for the same game on Wii?

Because it's the Wii. So they can. Also Square-Enix.

Plus, they know people who don't own a 360 would probably do it.

So when the fuck does America get Majora's Mask? It's been out in the PAL regions for over a month now. Virtual Console is so fucking dumb.

I wouldn't expect Majora's Mask anytime soon, but you'd think the N64 would have another release eventually. Pokemon Puzzle League was released on May 5th of last year, and then Mario Golf was released October 6. We haven't had a N64 game since then.

I've just noticed something about the Virtual Console. With the exception of Splatterhouse 2, there aren't any other M-rated games that have been released.

Btw, those Contra screens look alright.

Fuck that. When do we get FFIV Sequel and Cave Story?

Will anyone be posting what DSi ware shows up? I'm not terribly optimistic about what'll come out, but it would still be good to have with the rest of the nintendo download stuff.

I'm not too concerned about DSiware since I won't be getting a DSi until...well until they come out with a few DSi-only games that'll interest me.

The music and scenario seem plucked straight from the minds behind Katamari Damacy. And it's Namco so I wouldn't be surprised. If this doesn't come out here then my soft-modded Wii will be my savior. ;)

Speaking of which... Let's say that I have my friend has a soft-modded Wii and various VC/Wiiware releases that can be installed via Homebrew Channel and wad manager. How do you get out-of-region games to actually play?

I actually haven't tried that. I'm not sure if you need to change the region of your system firmware in order to run them but I hope not. I'd just install the wads and if they work then they work.

If you want to install other regional VC/Wiiware games you either install a "preloader" that makes your Wii region free or use a program called "freethewad" to make a VC/Wiiware game region free.

Aha, thanks! I tried installing Majora's Mask, and it tells me that it can't play that channel. I wasn't sure if there was some other step in there that I had to take. I'll give that a try anyway. :3:

DEAR GOD, this has been out for days now and I didn't know about it. Someone slap me.

Contra Rebirth does feel a little rushed. Just 5 stages, only 3 weapon types (laser, spread, and homing). Stage 4 is the worst stage in any Contra game. Pretty easy on normal difficulty too.

But it's still a fun Contra game.

Eh... how long ago was that? Besides Nintendo is still holding out on that Kirby console game they had in the works for the cube years ago.

I like how the Virtual Console still doesn't have rumble for N64 games. If Star Fox 64 doesn't allow me to achieve orgasm when I make MacBeth's supply depot explode I should get my god damn money back.
