When the hell do you guys play this game online? I go online and NOBODY IS ON :(

You can count on me always checking the wi-fi around 11PM nightly, with other times random depending on work and such.

That's exactly what it is though. I do have items on and stages are all available. I have NO idea where people are getting the impression that there are still some crazy rules being used for this. I dropped them at page five. o_o

The timer is just there just so no match drags on too long and we don't have to have some complaint story that no one made a move in New Pork City after 20 minutes. People are allowed to choose their own stage and whatever character they feel they could use to win that certain match. It would kinda suck sticking with the same one. Not even tourneyfags in Pro Tournaments do that.

If people wanna just do a normal tournament, that's perfectly fine with me. I understand that everyone is in a state of confusion after the whole tourneyfag debate back in the discussion thread. I'll close up the discussion thread, and ask Slash to close up the sign-up thread, create a new one for just so we could have March Smashness before March ends and there will be no tournament/league talk involved. Just a normal, "let's duke it out" tournament where everyone could have fun. The rules will be:

4 stock, 8 minutes
All Items On - Low
All Stages

No debates saying that this is unfair either. I just want to have a Smash tournament where people could have fun, since that was my original intention of this whole thing anyway. Either you sign up, or you don't. I'll think of some sort of cut-off date so we can get it started.

And I understand about lag also, I'm willing to take that risk. :gonk:

Okay, tomorrow (Sunday) I'm going to pop in my JP copy and delete everybody on my friend roster since it's such a mess. I had already move non-GFF FC to my US copy. I'm going to re-add everybody FC that's on the wiki page and leave my Wii connected online to make sure it "registered" everyone. If you already added me you don't have to do anything... beside connecting online to make sure I'm registered on your side. :D

Just had the most awesome matches with sprouticus and Freelance Wolf today. I was afraid of super lag the instant sprouticus joined me and Freelance's room. There was some lag, but that lag was present when Wolf and I were fighting anyway. I definitely would love to brawl with you guys again. (Freelance is probably already aware of this since I join her room at almost every opportunity. =p ).

Same here. We got a lot of people who have this game and yet everytime I go online there never seems to be anyone on. IC is really the only person I ever see in the event someone is on. I play with random people more often now 'cause of that. I guess I'm the only obsessed fan here XD

I go to bed at 11pm on weeknights, which would explain why you never see me. If I come home late then I don't play at all. It varies each week. On the weekends I want to spend lots of time in Brawl but still never see anyone on :(

Earlier in the afternoon I practiced with my sister against 2 level 9 AIs and I did much better than I expected. I never could hold my own against level 9 AI in Melee, but I find myself managing to win matches in Brawl without losing all of my lives.

Did manage to find Icy early evening though. There was much less lag than last time we played, which was good. When Sprot came on I was afraid we'd get horrible lag but suprisingly that didn't happen. When we had the Ike x 3 + Bowser match, I said to my sister, "no way I can win against 3 Ikes!" and I didn't XD

Playing those AI matches sure helped me apparently, as I don't die as often now when playing against Icy. Everyone knows how godly he is, haha.

I finally got Brawl and a Wii console, so my Friend Code's in the Wiki now. Looks like Kairyu added it in after I played a few matches with him earlier today (or yesterday, since it's 1:30AM here), but I made a minor fix since my screenname is BK2, not BK.

I'm interested in the tournament, but I honestly have no clue what's happening with that. I tried to read up on the threads, but there's like five of them all pertaining to the tournament so I'm confused as hell. Someone mind updating me on that?

I'm free all of this week since my spring break has started but I head back to school on Monday the 31st.

I'm currently only holding one tournament at the time, which is March Smashness. It has nothing to do with the five page monstrosity that I closed up. March Smashness is basically just a normal tournament (rules stated in the thread) with a 1v1 division and 2v2 division. You can sign up for both (if you want) since they're not going to be run at the same time.

Hopefully that clears everything up. o_o

Tried to win Cruel Brawl. Got nada :(

My sister and I won all co-op events and we're 2 events away from completing the single player events, namely the one when you protect Zelda and to win in the race. I dunno what to do in the latter.

We got over 300 stickers now. Whoo...just how many bloody stickers in total are there?? Seems kinda silly since all you can actually use them on is in SSE. I never want to play it again XD

I'm hoping someone goes online soon. I'm itching to battle ;3

I dunno if it's been mentioned earlier in the thread, but there's a really easy way to get the 10 kills in Cruel Brawl you need for the Challenges.

Just pick Pit, run off the side and hang on the ledge, drop off far from the stage, jump a few times (luring the fighters off the stage), then activate your UP+B and hover under the stage over to the other ledge. Repeat for about 2-3 minutes. They all die by missing their third jumps and suiciding.

I can't see actually fighting those things, it's wayyyy too hard for me.

The issue of Cruel Melee was mentioned pretty damn long ago.

Anyway, I haven't been keeping up with the thread since I went on vacation...I've been on 2 week Brawl withdrawal and by the time I get back home (which is like 4 weeks from now), everyone will have progressed so far in their skills it will be hopeless for me.

What's all this about clans and tourneys? I'll try and take a cursory look through the missed posts, but sounds like fun times.

Ugh. . . tried playing with IC last night, and man did we lag. I was fine playing With Anyone, but the match with me, IC, and Kairyu was laggy. Guess I need to try DMZing.

Ok I'm glad I wasn't the only one then xD. I have to admit that was my first laggy match since getting the lan adapter (not counting Basil's test match since we were seeing how his connection was.)

Haha awesome games sprout and Tem! Lots of lol deaths and some were pretty close. When BigCN's brother joined I thought we'd have massive lag, but it wasn't crippling on my end after a little while. Unfortunately, I still get massive lag against IC all throughout, and with some people for about the first 10 seconds or so.

Is there anyway to avoid fan smacks once you get caught in them? I always thought that it was the cpu being stupid but I couldn't roll or struggle out in any direction once I got stuck in a barrage.

Hope that the person's rhythm is disrupted and you have that free period of time to escape and throw a bob-omb at them?

And I've been on Spring Break this whole previous week, so sorry Wolf that I haven't been able to battle with you. Since I had some friends come back for the week, I spent the whole week hanging out with them before they headed back. This week, I should have more time to head online and battle some people this week, so I'll tell you guys when I have a chance to battle with some of you before the tournament. :)

Yeah, it's kind of strange that the game runs fine then at some point the game lag (aka freezes) for a few seconds, then resume as "normal" while I was watching my brother Brawling you guys (I would had joined but I was busy at the time).

And it seems like my brother is picking up my bitch-paperfan-slapping habit. :tpg:

Great matchup though. For some reason, though, I kept getting kicked off your connection. Eventually it worked fine, but for whatever reason I would get an error saying that the connection was dropped and then it would spit me back out on the main menu. Any ideas?

I don't know, as that also happens to me sometimes with other people when I try to join their room. I can't tell if they were kicking me out or if those were random disconect occurrences (I wasn't kicking you out though :o) Torrents off, I guess 8-]

Heh, this remind me when my cousin, my brother, and I set a "theme" where we only set one item (like the paper fan, hammer, pokeball, bomb, etc) and set it high and set the match at fast speed. We mostly ended up SD'ed and lololz ourselves than KO'ing each other. :tpg:

Oh, I order myself those LAN adapter to see if it makes any different (I doubt it though... >_>)
