No. There is a reward for beating it on Intense, and one for beating it with every character. The ones for beating it with every character do not have a difficulty level requirement to them.

Got all the level 4 Target Smashes done. Lucario was the most annoying by far to do. I'm not that familiar with his moves, so the vast majority of my failed attempts with him (not to mention with several others) was trying to get that last target with his up-B. 'Bout drove me insane.

Level 5 actually feels easier, what with no ice and having already got the under-30-seconds challenge out of the way, or whatever the time was.

EDIT: Say, does anyone know if there are additional music tracks for (X) stage that are obtainable only by brawling on that stage so many times, that are NOT listed as a challenge already? It hadn't occurred to me that there might be. Or is this true of practically all the stages but finding the CD through other means is probably faster than brawling whatever number of times on said stage?

I ask because the CDs seem to be getting a little scarce on that custom stage for farming them.

Oh, phew... That's a relief.

But it's still gonna be a drag to go off and beat it with everyone.

What the hell?

Sakabadger Mar 20, 2008 09:04 PM

I used to like seeing the new character updates on that pixel art, but I stopped paying attention after Japan got its release so that I wouldn't get spoiled. Now that I know all the characters though, I don't remember where that art was. Can someone give me a link to it?

FatsDomino Mar 20, 2008 09:58 PM

It's in the the first post of the smash bros week thread in CC.

I'll probably change the font becuase Arial sucks on something that could fancier, but I'll probably make it later.

Nothing special about either. It does show the picture of the sickly Turnip though, so you know what to look for. The Great Maze just explains what it is. <_<

I'm curious, am I the only one who finds the online play to be rather superficial? I personally find Online play not nearly as fun as playing with buddies next to you. Something about not being able to scream at the guy next to you or smack them in the back of the head for a cheap kill suddenly takes a lot of the fun and appeal I found in Smash Bros. to begin with.

Just curious with this too, would anybody be interested in a long-term, anything goes, free-for-all "tournament/league"? I put that last part in quotes because I realize much of the purpose of tournaments and leagues is to be competitive. The one I have in mind serves a different purpose, and rather than emphasizing on rules in the form of banning things to be fair, just don't ban anything and let lady luck roam free. We could just set up scheduled games where 4 people go at it every weekend or something and post a saved replay of it here (or if you had time, you could spectate/bet on the match). We could keep records of wins and losses here. It would be a very loose event and it wouldn't necessarily have an end but it's just something for fun. I don't know, thoughts or opinions?

Sakabadger Mar 21, 2008 10:15 AM

I think it depends on who you play with, and what resources you have at your disposal. If you play your buddies online near a phone or a computer, you can easily hammer out a few words to them in between matches. Not as good as actual physical interaction, but in some cases (long-distance friends) it's great.

In regards to your second idea, you should probably look at the existing Brawl tournament thread.

I did, but that one limits too much for my taste. I was thinking of a not-so-serious anything goes deal where we just brawl for fun and have random stats on the side.

Summonmaster Mar 21, 2008 08:26 PM

After tediously going through classic mode with more characters, I decided to go into snapshot procurement mode and explore some of the other modes that many never usually check out. Fighting Giant Falco who grabbed a mega mushroom was as equally amusing as hearing mouse-like squeaks from tiny melee-ers with bunny hoods, grabbing poison mushrooms in light gravity! I sort of which you could do the special brawl online as well, that'd be randomly crazy and awesome at the same time.

Anyone else interested in daily screenshot exchanging? I'm really only bugging IC and Kairyu at this point whenever I snap some, although I'd love to receive more from others!

Don't worry about it anymore... I'm trying not to make it so serious since it's driving people away. The intent of the tournament was supposed to be pure Brawl fun, but ideas clash and I finally decided on a rule set that would make everyone happy, even if I'm against it myself.

So there are no limits in this tournament right now. I still don't see why people still have some sort of problem with it. o_o

Miles Mar 22, 2008 04:00 AM

Fire Emblem has stolen my attention from this game but tomorrow I'm going to pop online to play with some GFFers. I did try to play yesterday but out of the 40 or so people on my list only one person was online and it seemed like they were idling.

NovaX Mar 22, 2008 05:30 AM

Alright this is probably going to seem pretty stupid, and is probably just from me not looking hard enough, but where can I find my friend code? I didn't get it down when it first came up and I haven't seen it since.

Oh just login to SSBB's wifi and select "With Friends." From there click on your friend roster and at the very top you should see your Friend Code.

Buizel Mar 22, 2008 11:30 AM

Hope you guys didn't missed me (and my brother :tpg:) online. I'm just trying to finish up my US Brawl copy (almost done!). After that I'll switch back to my JP copy... or whenever that "tournament" starts. lol

wvlfpvp Mar 22, 2008 12:54 PM

;___; more of you bastards need to confirm me than just IC.

Oh, and I make another vote for a fun faggotry-less tourney thread . . . the only limit? No Final Destination allowed. I don't care if someone hates a big stage. They might be annoying, but they're still fun.

Maybe have some rounds where you're forced to choose random characters.

Exactly! I got some PMs back but for those that didn't, I'm still awaiting registration. Everyone that PM'ed back now appears on my list.

I like the whole random idea too. You can't blame anything except for bad luck or insufficient practicing, or most likely sour grapes if you don't get something workable out of the roulette. That's exactly the kind of fun thing that all involved should be able to enjoy. If you don't like "random" anything, then just don't take part!

Chaotic Mar 22, 2008 01:22 PM

My question is, how would you know who chose random characters over a Wi-Fi match?

Is no one ever happy with any decisions I make regarding the tournament? I get shit at for trying to ban stages, and I'm still getting shit for allowing all stages.

What exactly do I need to do to get you people to sign up? I'm serious at this point. It's obvious people still aren't fucking happy with this whole tournament, and everyone's sense of fairness is still pretty opinionated. So honestly, tell me in the Tournament Discussion thread, because according to wvlfpvp, there's still a case of faggotry residing there. You people pressure me to get it started when I still need more people to sign up for it.

So... I'D LIKE TO FUCKING KNOW WHAT'S STILL WRONG WITH THIS TOURNAMENT THAT'S PREVENTING PEOPLE FROM SIGNING UP. I'M OPEN TO IDEAS.

We don't. I think we're hoping that the honors system would be enough for the typical GFF'er to abide by. Plus, if we really need to, we could report which characters we used and check for any possible discrepancies like someone using Lucario five times in a row or something.

etc.

The problem here is that you're trying to please too many people all at once. Somebody is going to have a complaint with what you're doing, so I wouldn't worry if someone doesn't like the rules implemented as is. You'd have better success mixing oil with water than getting everybody to join the same tournament. You've changed the rules enough as is, and I'd like to get started as soon as possible. If someone wants to create a separate tournament to suit everyone else's needs, that's their prerogative.

I just want to play. :(

As an aside, I'm fine with the rules set as is.

Josiah Mar 22, 2008 02:20 PM

*looks at the tourney discussion thread for the first time*

Anyone got morphine for my migraine? On a funnier note, I think people who complain about hammers should play as Ike/Marth. I often deliberately LET other people get the hammers just to see the look on their faces when they get death by Counter.

Anyway, while I don't entirely agree with the current rules, they're good enough for me. Anything would be better than Gamestop's joke of a tournament.

Sorry Chaotic, but I definitely would sign up were it not for my internet being "teh suck". :(

Miles Mar 22, 2008 03:25 PM

There are a few reasons i haven't signed up.

1. I might get put up against a person that causes the match to run at 5 frames a second. I dunno if they either don't open the proper ports on their router or if our ISPs just hate eachother.

2. I don't like all these crazy rules. I think it should be items and everything on default. 4 stocks with an 8 minute timer (or no timer) and each person selects a stage they want to do and whatever stage they get thrown on they fight on. whoever survives gets to move up in the brackets. Very simple not not overly complicated.

But yeah, I'll pass mostly because of the lag issues. I dunno why, there's just some people I can't play with without the game dropping down to some shitty frame rate... and it sucks too. ;_;
