Bought Castlevania Dawn of Sorrow for the DS yesterday cause i wanted to buy a new edge card, and it was like 15 bucks, i figured i'd make use of the card. Haven't played it yet, but i bought it.

Now on to the good stuff.

In Chicago, on the way home from the tour i was on, we were given two free hours in a mall. I had a very productive day. Bought a bunch of non gaming related stuff, but was also able to finally satisfy my ever present boner for Resident Evil by buying 2 and 3 for the Gamecube. I've spent the better part of the last 3 years hitting up all the EBs and second hand stores in the city (or any other city i've happened to be in) and never found them. I drop down into the states for a bit, the first gamestop i go to has both of them. They were both 30 bucks, but who gives a shit. I've finally finished my collection of all the Resident Evil games that matter. Fuck Outbreak, Main series games are where it's at, and i can finally do my marathon.

Looks like my Metal Gear collection's gonna have to wait.

Picked up RE2 just recently as well. (It was found at a garage sale with a pack of other Playstation titles and one SNES title for $4 total: Parasite Eve, Wings 2, and more)

Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops

I had to get it, I must continue the story of Naked Snake and see where his travels would lead to. Plus, I need another good PSP game and this is apparently one of the best. Plus plus, I am now a diehard fan of Metal Gear. Next goal is to purchase Subsistence lol.

The World Ends with You

Made it up to day 3 so far. I need more time to play this. The battle system in this game is really fun too. Plus it's really shocking to see an original game from Square-Rehash. WHAT? A DS title that has nothing to do with the Final Fantasy universe? This can't be true!

My reaction to this game was the same as John Cusack and Jack Black listening to the skater punks' CD in High Fidelity.

Literally when asked what I thought of it, I had my head in my hand, muttering in surprise and frustration: "It's.... it's really fucking good."

Also, bunch of buys for me lately.

The World Ends With You

Atelier Iris 3

Mana Khemia

Harvey Birdman: Attorney At Law

Wipeout

Wild Arms XF

Crisis Core

Busy few never-going-to-touch-moth-of-them.

Dinosaur Adventure to go on YouTube, Ultimate Casino (another Simple 2000 game I've been looking for) and Ultimate Pro Pinball at a pawn shop today. Ultimate Pinball was so horribly scratched up they gave it to me for a dollar (don't they bother checking these things when they buy them off goons?). It kiiiindddaaaa works!

Also yeah, GTA IV and Marieo Cart~

Ordered Smash Bros Brawl two weeks ago from Play-Asia; last tuesday it finally arrived and it turns out I gotta pay €15,72 for customs.

Only I had no cash on hand. :(

Today they FINALLY came again and this time I did have the cash on hand.

YAHOO!!! :D

Now I'm just waiting for my remote to charge up before I start and inevitably get sucked in for the next few weeks.

Latest games I bought since my last post are:

Octomania: Summonmaster made me buy this quirky Japanese title. It's not a bad game, but I can't seem to play with anyone online.

Mario Party 8: Bought this from Summonmaster. It's great ^_^

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time: It has features that make it better than the first game, and I'm surprised how it's everything that the main RPG series is not: a better story, better characters, etc.

Pinball Hall of Fame The Williams Collection: The best video pinball game to date. I got the PSP version :3

SSX Blur: I originally got Obscure: Aftermath for PS2 but it kept freezing at the same spot, so I returned it to get SSX Blur. The controls take a bit to get used to, and I need another nunchuk to play with my sister.

Port Royale 2: A game that's similar to Sid Meier's Pirates!, but with more emphasis on trading. I haven't played it much yet.

Resident Evil: The remake for the GCN. Haven't played much of it either.

XBL is quite a blast. I'll get around to posting my Gamertag in the other thread one of these days. As for now, I'm gonna go try out that Devil May Cry 4 demo. I hear it's EXTREME.

TheKnightOfNee May 8, 2008 08:35 PM

Today I discovered a store in the area that sells old video games. I ended picking up a copy of Shatterhand that was in great condition for $3. I'm so glad to have finally found a place that I can buy older games at, I'm gonna keep checking back there whenever I'm in the area.

Freelance May 8, 2008 09:55 PM

Bought Mario Kart Wii, Okami (Wii) and GW Nightfall on Tuesday. Only played Nightfall so far. It's looking good.

Gonna try out the Wii games this weekend :3

Sousuke May 11, 2008 01:05 AM

I FINALLY picked up Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations today at EB [new] for a measly $13. Very happy with my purchase. Now I just have to finish Justice for All, heh. And then get Apollo Justice. Then I'll have them all.

With the Aussie dollar being so strong/US dollar dead, I've been able to consume stuff dirt cheap!

http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y13...ehaggar003.jpg

Every Extend Penis = $10 (!) I liked the demo in Luemmminges II, and now I can enjoy. More.

Klonoa 2 = I didn't even know this existed on GBA! I kinda didn't give a shit about the GBA during its prime, you see. :] Man, it's awesome. I hate Namco for ignoring Klonoa. I'll paint my nails black for you, Namco.

Capcom Classics Mini Mix = Holy moly it has Bionic Commando, Strider AND Mighty Final Fight. ON THE SAME CARTRIDGE. GBA was more advanced than the Cell processor.

Mega Man X Rock Man X Whatever Here Coem Ramekin' Ewegula Hantur Gwafix = This is the ASIAN version, with caps and everything. I dunno, it was $40 cheaper than buying it here. :eagletear:

World Ends With You = Review copy, my mind is blown that I'm enjoying a recent Square RPG. Seriously, it's so good; I'm looking forward to seeing how they'll run it into the ground with a brain training spin-off or something. 'World Ends With Your Rad Racer' would be great though.

F-Zero = I'll be honest, I got it mostly for the box art.

Wario Land 4 = It comes with golden poo stickers, true story.

I've also got Patapon coming thanks to Tails' gurnal entry, along with a MYSTERY.

So. MGS4 sells me the PS3.
Now, for the first, pre MGS4 games, I've picked The Darkness and Uncharted. The first because the 360 version is only available in a cut version here, and it's actually illegal to import the game, due to the extras containing nazi symbols. The latter because it's supposed to one of the console's best games.
Now all of the stuff just has to arrive here. *_*

Chaotic May 13, 2008 07:34 PM

Whoo hoo! Finally got to pick up Mana Khemia today. Since I have company over, I'm gonna play it later tonight.

I'm probably gonna pick up Persona 3: FES later in the week.

Mana Khemia is pretty much awesome. You won't be disappointed.

Chaotic May 13, 2008 08:22 PM

Good to hear. I'm excited to try it. :3:

Good for you, 'cause I have yet to see it anywhere in town. My sister wants this game and I've never heard of it :D

@Infernal, Is that Maverick X I see? I want that :(

Jinzo May 14, 2008 08:35 PM

It's been a while since my last post in this threat. Anyways here I go:

Purchases:
Mario Kart Wii: Is there a reason not to get this? Bought PGA Tour 2007 Wii ($10 From Kmart Clearance) and Rayman Rabbits Wii (13.98 Clearance from Target) and traded those with that MKW Deal that EB had. Pretty much just got it really cheap. Online Rules!

Super Smash Brothers Brawl: Again a reason not to get this? Online sucks for me :-(

Final Fantasy XII DS: Had to get it clearanced at Target for 19.98.

Castlevania Rondo of Blood: Again clearanced at Target for 14.98 Don't even own a PSP yet!

Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core PSP: Friend who worked on FFCC:MLAAK got it cheap for $16.00. Why not? Samething for Heroes of Mana ($8.00)

Metal Slug Anthology (Wii): Got it at EB used. Still hard to find and had to get it. Love MS3 the most.

Grand Theft Auto IV: Need something else for my PS3 to play. Awesome game but right now playing MKW trying to get 1 Star on 150cc to unlock spoiler read backwards [reswob yrd]. Already unlocked Mii Outfit B. That took time.

Last but not least:
House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return: (Wii) Got it last month at CC on sale for 19.99. Never played them when I was younger. I missed out on something so awesome :-(

Seems like a lot but pretty much got everything on clearance or deals over a couple of months.

guyinrubbersuit May 15, 2008 12:21 AM

Not really a purchase but I got my free copy of Let's Ride! Friends Forever for the DS. This is a game I tested for about a month or so. I must say that the gameplay is enthralling with nonstop brushing and washing action and many jump tournaments to conquer. The only thing this game is seriously lacking is a good game of jousting. Yeah that really would've made the one month on it fly by.

indutrial May 15, 2008 01:59 PM

The more I've been weighing the pluses and minuses on whether to buy an X-Box 360, Wii, or PS3, the more I've been saying "fuck it" and just buying more old school shit for play, not to mention more cheap games for the PS2 and Gamecube. Last week, I bought Tales of Symphonia and Xenosaga III, the latter of which I'd been putting off for a while. I'm not planning on playing either of those right away, but I don't want to miss them when Gamestop pushes them off the shelf in favor of more Guitar Hero shit. I also ordered some old SNES carts, including R-Type III and U.N. Squadron, some of the best shooters I remember from that system. I had been playing both on emulators and realized that it wouldn't be too costly to just get them for the console. A week before that, I got myself a copy of Startropics for the NES, a game that still rules and is still frustrating as hell sometimes (I beat it in a few intense, curse-filled sittings, much to my girlfriend's dismay). I had to get that again, because my copy of Zoda's Revenge was lonely and still pissed at me that I lent my original copy to a douchebag who managed to break the original Startropics cartridge somehow. Some unreliable shitbag seller on Amazon stiffed me on a copy of Guardian Legend so I'm going to have to wait longer for another one of those.

That's funny. I'm about to start buying up some of Konami's other amazing reissue packs, like the Gradius Collection and the Salamander Portable Pack (only in Japanese :( but whatever). Both these and that Castlevania set are only PSP, and I don't own one of those pieces of shit either. I really don't like handhelds, but with these great game sets it's 100% likely that they won't be getting ported over to the PS2 or any other console (though they damn well should have been, like Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories). When I do finally purchase the PSP, I hope that I can play those games on my regular TV somehow...at least without having to buy some pricy plasma-screen.

Chaotic May 18, 2008 11:53 AM

Finally picked up Persona 3: FES, but I promise myself that I would beat Mana Khemia first before I started on this one. ;_;

Angel of Light May 18, 2008 10:27 PM

I made some recent game purchases as well. I was hoping to pick up Castle of Shikigami III (with hopefully better voice dialogue than Castle Shikigami 2)for the Wii, but it looks like EB games didn't get it. Looks like I'll have to ebay it or hopefully one of the eb games in Newfoundland got it in.

I did pick up Persona 3: FES and Disgaea for the PSP even though I probably won't be playing any of those games fairly soon.

Tagonist May 19, 2008 04:05 PM

Uncharted arrived just in time.
Very good game so far. A lot like Gears, but with more colors, and more checkpoints, and jump'n'run sections, and less macho-manlihood.
Just the tacked on tilt control pieces are a bit off... Balancing across logs is okay, but grenade throwing... Not my thing.
Stunning looks though, and impressive soundtrack.

scotty May 19, 2008 06:03 PM

I just bought Skies of Arcadia Legends, Chrono Cross, and Valkyrie Profile last month.

I've played Legends a few years ago and really wanted to play it again. I have never played the other two before buying them though. I heard good things about Valkyrie Profile, and I am a fan of Norse mythology. I just bought Crono Cross because it was $5, and heard it was a decent game.
