Oh, hell yes. I just caught a shiny Giratina. I spent an hour or two yesterday seeing if he wouldn't just show up for me, but with no luck on it I spent an hour today trying to find a normal one with a Calm nature. I was only going to attempt it two or three more times when the shiny showed up, so I quickly threw a Master Ball. It's Rash, which isn't particularly good for Giratina, but it could be worse (Naughty or Lonely). Very pleased!

And sorry Chaotic, I meant to ask about your offer. Did you want the Deoxys for the six TMs, and then I'd trade something else for the Mew? Or are you including the Mew, and I'd be including a few Sitrus berries?

But lucky you. I haven't encountered a single shiny Pokemon in the wild since the days of G/S... I'm not lucky T_T.

Well, it's only the third shiny I've ever encountered. First was the red Gyrarados in Gold (which doesn't count), the Steelix on Iron Island a month or so back, and then the Giratina today. They need to double or even quadruple the encounter rate of shinies.

A shiny Geodude isn't actually that bad because of it's golden color. Just don't evolve it, since then that's gone.

It's not a issue for me but I do wonder how this is detected, aside for obvious hacks. Does copying your pokemon onto the Wii verify this or something?

Obviously hacked Pokemon (i.e. unreasonable stats and movepools) become "Bad Eggs" when transferred to Pokemon Battle Revolution and are therefore unusable in that state.

I couldn't participate cause I used a friend's Action Replay to get me some TMs, so if anyone wants some, I got all of em' in abundance.

One way they could actually tell if you used the AR to hack the game is when you look in the Mail bag. You find 95 Explorer Kits in there. That's one way to notice.

After chatting with the guy running the tournament, I asked him if I could read the rules and regulations...

Apparently, it was supposed to be a Doubles Battle only using 4 Pokemon (forced since it's under the Level 50 All rule), but most places switched it to Singles because the battle would move faster. True, but it still took some time to hook up to the system.

The winner of our tournament had a Gyarados (which he used to sweep the other finalist, who used all legendaries), Garchomp, Kyogre, and Electivire (which had an awesome nickname, btw, Ben Lucci).

His opponent had all legendaries, Heatran, Zapdos, Suicune, and something else, but I can't remember. He never used it.

We we all rooting for this one girl to win, she had a Starmie named Jeff. Why she named it that, we were completely lost.

Overall, our tournament turned out fine.

Oh, by the way, if you're wondering about my Pokemon. Everything I caught myself is legit. As I explained earlier, my friend traded me legendaries which he got using an Action Replay. Otherwise, I actually do catch and raise my own Pokemon. I'm not THAT cheap. T_T

But anyway, if anyone wants a TM, I probably have more than 90 of all of them thanks to the Action Replay. PM me if you want anything in particular.

Oh well I spent 3 hours or so last night getting it, a very fustrating 3 hours. At least now my Spiritomb is now my first EV trained tank with no weaknesses.

The Bad Egg thing actually happened during the tournament, but they let it slide for some reason. We really didn't want the kid to win at all, and I'm happy the guy who won sweeped with his Gyarados.

So, Kai, did you do the tournament? If so, how did it go?

Over here, there were more AR users than anticipated. Over 20 people were ready to sign up but only 9 were able to participate. What really got me is that 5 of those players were around my age.
The tournament itself went well. Lots of watchers, bad news for me is that almost everyone was using some combination of legendary pokemon. Namely Mewtwo, Palkia and Kyogre. Naturally I lost in the initial rounds but I did take down a couple legendaries before my round was up. So it wasn't a total loss, hell a lot of players were cheering for my team for some reason :tpg:.


To sum it up, it was a awesome experience. I hope they do something like that again.
