Question?

Whats the best Snes Emulator for the PSP (Using that 3-OE-A or something like that) and how do you actually use it?

Thank you in advance.

I use snes9xTYL-0.4me (see attachment). Put your roms the snes9xTYL folder. And it runs as any other homebrew.

LS Aug 5, 2007 10:24 PM

thank you sepharite~

Now i could probably play tales of phantasia.

On that note, this works on full speed now right?

Additional Spam:
I was trying to make it work, it only appears as a corrupted file.

Help please, thank you

Sepharite Aug 5, 2007 10:44 PM

Are you using the 1.5 one? And putting both folders (snes9xTYL/snes9xTYL%) into GAME150?

LS Aug 5, 2007 10:55 PM

Got it working, thanks!

So loving the interface of this emulator.

Sepharite Aug 5, 2007 11:06 PM

I knoww, I love it too. It's so well organized, unlike most emulators I've seen.

Btw, if you want any SNES game, I can post it. I have (almost?) every single SNES game created. xD

LS Aug 5, 2007 11:32 PM

Interested in tales of phantasia, and any romance of the three kingdom games. =D

This is amazing news for the PSP scene. And even better news for the peeps with their paperweight PSPs.

Sony probably isn't too happy. =O =O =O

Sony probably isn't too happy. =O =O =O

But at least we're happy. hehe.

This thing really works, I unbricked my brother's PSP and a friend's PSP last night. Probably going to have a lot more people asking me to unbrick theirs too. Oh well, I'd be glad to do it for free.

Kairi Li Aug 24, 2007 02:04 AM

Best news ever! Now I feel less paranoid of doing things that risk bricking!

Now my PSP is even better than before. I can play full resolution videos, play FF9 on the go, and if I screw up, no need to cry about it and buy another PSP!

But uh, do you need another PSP with homebrew to do this? Or you're just helping them cause they dunno how?

All hail homebrew and the people who worked hard on this!

Manny Biggz Aug 24, 2007 02:14 AM

If it works on the slim, it's a wrap. This is the best news i've heard in a while!

Are the hackers being pussies about the OFFICIAL HARD DRIVIN' emulator?

I ask because even a couple of guys managed to crack nintendo's official Ensata DS debugger and spread it on the net.

or is it that the sony servers are too tough for the casual hacker?

maybe said emulator isn't even held on the servers?

fyi, that emulator is an official developement emulator made by sony for game developement. it allows the developer (or user?) to develop, debug or even play all psp games with 100% compatibility and speed, but so far no developer breached the secret deal and spread the emulator. of course no one can just email sony and ask them if they can send you the emulator. :P

A quick question on PSX emulation. Is there a version of Resident Evil 2 that works on 3.4OE-A and lets you play the WHOLE way through? Dual Shock version? Pal?

Last I check a while ago, it crashes when you reach the police station.

Fuck those PSP hackers for not bringing you what you want.

Er, I had put this in a figurative way, not literal... if you get what I mean.

I don't call them pussies because they can't come with sony's emulator, I merely question the hacker community's ability to hack into sony's servers and maybe grab it. of course they could do other stuff when they'd be in the servers but my main interest is the emulator.

Keep in mind you need another homebrew-enabled PSP to use the unbricker on a bricked one, though. There's no reason to get careless with flashing.

Using Popstation, just change the game id from the current one to the biohazard 2 game id, worked fine by me.

Persona 2 is crapping up, any news if persona 1 works for the psp?

Why would people bother to hack into the server, get caught, and go to jail to life, for cheap losers who can't afford a mere $200? >.>

Anyways, you'll need a homebrew PSP and a spare battery, that's it. If your PSP is already homebrew enabled, which I'm sure it is, then all you'll need is a spare battery. And of course, you can always convert back the battery to default.

3.51 firmware gets Suikoden 2 working 100%, so intrigued if i should upgrade or not.

I mean SUikoden 2 is fine and all, i would love to play it but i heard there are some game compatibilities, anyone knows anything bout M33?

chato Aug 24, 2007 09:41 PM

I have their latest 3.52 M33-4 update. No flaws, bricks, etc. It has been reported that some psp were bricked by kids who don't know how to fuckin follow directions correctly. I've done all the updates, fixes, etc and no bricks, It's safe. If a brick does occur , there's always that Pandora's Battery program that'll unbrick all psps..

So give it a shot.

LS Aug 25, 2007 08:21 AM

Can you link me to the tutorial and the program, Some chinese guy in HK downgraded my psp, so this will be new to me.

But I'll read the instruction at least 5-6 times before attempting it.

Sepharite Aug 25, 2007 03:43 PM

My cousin said that I could play AVI files by converting them into ISO and then running them as if it was a UMD. I know it's kinda stupid since I might as well use the time to convert it to mp4 but I'm just curious.

chato Aug 25, 2007 04:56 PM

Here's a better tutorial since it's already downgraded. You can get all the stuff mentioned in psp-hacks.com.

1. Download 3.52 M33 Custom Firmware,Sony Firmware 1.50 and 3.52 EBOOTs

2. Open M33 Custom Firmware and take the M33 Creator folder and drag it into PSP/GAMEorGAME150 folder.

3. Rename the two eboots to 150.PBP and 352.PBP and drag them into the M33 Creator folder.

4. There should be another folder called KXPLOITPATCHER and KXPLOITPATCHER% . Drag those two into the GAME/GAME 150 folder.

5. Go to the PSP menu and head into "Memory Stick" and start up the kxploit patch so that it can let you upgrade to m33. Some don't have to but do it anyway. When you do that, screen will go black and it'll ask you to press the X button to install that little patch and you'll be taken back to the menu

6. Start up M33 CREATOR. Once again, Press X so that it can create "3.52 M33 UPDATE".

7.You'll be taken back to the menu and now you'll find the customfirmware update and install and after all that crap, you're good to go. Only then, you need to download M33-4 Update. Dont worry, that update will just install a few bug fixes and anything that prevents your psp from bricking.

That is all.. anybody feel free to correct whatever i said wrong since I pretty much said it all directly. It shouldn't be hard. I did this for a friend yesterday.

LS Aug 25, 2007 06:53 PM

One question, when you say 3.52 eboots, what does it mean?
the official update?

Additional Spam:
One more question, do i need to downgrade to 1.50 first?

Well, yeah. But at least now there is some form of insurance/hope.

So if changing the game ID to the JAPANESE version of RE2 fixes the problem? Think this could work on the Dual Shock version?

LS Aug 25, 2007 09:19 PM

It would, since the ISO i grabbed before was dual shock, i just changed the game ID to the one that Biohazard 2 has.
