This is great news. I'm a newcomer to the series (I have only been watching for the last few months), but it has quickly become one of my favorite TV series' of all time (not saying much though, as I don't care for most of what is aired on TV).

They're announcing this news EVERYWHERE, so I think there's less of a chance of it being a false alarm than before. The only thing that sounds fishy is the 2008 release date. That just seems like, WAY too much of a wait. I can't wait that long, but I suppose I'll do my best!

Actually, I would have thought "Good news, everyone!" would precede something like "Futurama is never coming back!", considering the anticlimatic manner Farnsworth always uses the expression in. =o

The creator apparently has a MySpace page, and posts news about futurama on it once and a while. You should check it out.

This thread has been dead for a number of months, does anyone have any new news on Futurama? Please share it here for the many Futurama lovers.

My understanding is that Futurama is coming back in 2008 in the form of four 3-episode long miniseries. I haven't really heard anything about it recently though.

Fox is just trying to give Futurama the Firefly treatment they wish they'd given it in the first place.

I bet they won't even have a decent explanation for the change in voices if this 'deal' goes through:

Anytime someone says something like this - they are *always* absolutely wrong.

This is way too depressing. I'll be in the holoshed.

Whether or not this is for real, or some tactic by FOX to force the voice actors to accept a lower salary, it still pisses me off. These voice actors have done incredible work over these years and are a huge reason why the show is successful. Getting rid of them, or using such a underhanded tactic to lower their pay is just shitty.

I recall the same thing happening to the Simpsons, and most of them are still working on the show despite what the news said. Hopefully it will all work out in the end, but I get the feeling that no matter what, the voice actors will get the short end of the stick.
