Wow, Rebecca's voice acting is slightly annoying. Though, I am enjoying the game so far. Likewise, I like the music so far. It is pretty catchy regarding its theme. However, like everyone else, I will be having a hard time trying to play this and Persona 3...then soon Growlanser V and then Soul Normad...what a busy month. Wonder if there will be any other good ones coming out for PS2 after that.

seriously how did they think that that was a good idea?

It's a good thing i just beat Persona 3.

PS: While becky seriously gets on my nerves, one line had me in stitches.

Spoiler:
(I had no idea that Dean was into little girls...) Refrencing Carol when he beats a boss with her

Otherwise her voice needs to die.

A lot of these cutscenes are hilarious, i'm glad they're putting at least a little humor into a rpg.

Hindman Aug 30, 2007 01:29 PM

For reference, Sol Niger means "Dark Sun" in Latin.

I can't tell if you guys are joking or serious with your reactions to a simple name of an item....

Ashton Aug 30, 2007 03:05 PM

I'm joking. Who's actually serious about this?

Hindman Aug 30, 2007 03:12 PM

Well looking 2 posts up, it kinda looked like you were ;)
Just had to ask cause I couldn't tell.

Ashton Aug 30, 2007 04:23 PM

Oh, i just think the name is retarded, but i'm not up in arms or anything about it.

Speaking of retarded names: TrekStor [MP3 players - USB sticks - hard drives]

Taco Aug 30, 2007 04:29 PM

Yeah, they couldn't think of more awkward terminology to use. I was playing with a bunch of friends around when I got to the first one, we all had a good laugh. Probably freaked everyone out in the next apartment over, too.

In other news, I just got to the point where Greg joined me party. I don't think he'll ever leave the battlefield.

Ashton Aug 30, 2007 05:55 PM

I just noticed i had a piece of equipment in my inventory called a black suit.

From this moment on this should be a 'Becky's got back' thread. Post becky's booty asap.

This is the second wild arms with a walking turn on. Two of them!

Summonmaster Sep 1, 2007 11:09 PM

Lol Rebecca's black suit. slightyl risque.

I just got to Gounon and the timeline is sort of bothering me now. I know it's purely fanservice that the cameos are present and the characters are here are vaguely named so that you can't definitively point their cameos out as canon, but:
Spoiler:
Paladienne (Yulie) asks you to find her brother but then by the end of Wild Arms 4, Kresnik is already dead. As well, you see Raquel and Arnaud in the Mirapulse pub but then if Kresnik is still alive, then that sort of implies that the quartet never met yet. :s

Hindman Sep 2, 2007 12:25 PM

They're not connected stories. There is no "timeline." Don't let it get to you ;)

rpgcrazied Sep 2, 2007 08:48 PM

hows everyone liking it so far? I just bought 3/4 today.. an order 5 online.. im kinda new to the series. I tried getting alter code f, but it was 40 used!

jb1234 Sep 2, 2007 10:20 PM

I'm about six hours in. I don't find the story or characters all that interesting but I'm enjoying the game nonetheless. I do wish they'd restrained themselves on the more childish cutscenes (and Dean is basically a walking "I'll never give up!" stereotype) but I enjoy the battles enough to keep playing.

Here's hoping the story actually does something interesting (although considering it's a Wild Arms game, I'm not hoping for much).

I hope you're pronouncing Niger wrong. Also, Sol Niger means Dark Sun.

Edit: Oops! I'm way late on saying that.

Uhhh.. to add something to this post that isn't old... I'm 36 hours into the game and at the

"Get used to disappointment."

I should get V on thursday(in the mail)

ive played 10hours of Wa4, and i think im already half way done.. its a good game.. but why so short? ;/ I hope 5 is longer?

Summonmaster Sep 3, 2007 10:36 PM

At this moment I'm fighting the Memorial Shrine's Sol Niger and I have one glaring gripe. Up until this point, the game makes you manually get out of dungeons and such, going through all the long rooms again. This last event was the only time so far where you didn't have to travel from one town all the way to another (Laila Belle and Mithysmere). Granted there were scenes and such along the way out, but it's still somewhat annoying to not be instantly transported out or back to town.

Forsety Sep 3, 2007 11:02 PM

Wild Arms 5 is a fair deal longer than 4 so don't worry too much about that. I think 5 is supposed to be 40 or so, longer if you do all the sidequests.

I don't think you're quite halfway done with WA4 either. I think I clocked in about 29 hours with 4 and I was moving at a pretty brisk pace. It's possible though, maybe I left the game on a few times and forgot, but I'm pretty sure you'll wind up at 25~30. Somewhere in there.

5's main quest is like, 40-45 hours. If you do other stuff, it can be like, 60 without a problem, I'd wager.

rpgcrazied Sep 3, 2007 11:13 PM

Well I just got to Neve d'Argento in 4, how far is that?

Final Fantasy Phoneteen Sep 4, 2007 12:49 PM

Just saved Chuck from the execution. Story is complete and utter cheese, but combat is very enjoyable. I never turn encounters off though, so I think I'm a bit overleveled. The Spriggan bosses in the mines were never the problem the tutorial claimed them to be, and all I did was out-muscle them (Avril and Rebecca on one, Dean soloing the other) instead of using the Ley points.

rpgcrazied Sep 4, 2007 04:50 PM

is the artbook hardcover? it looks it on the website

Summonmaster Sep 5, 2007 09:27 PM

The artbook is actually paperback, but still good nonetheless.

Does anyone know the track name of the song that plays in Mithysmere? I've taken quite a liking to it's somber mood but have deleted many tracks of both volumes of OSTs out of incorrect first impressions.

You're not, trust me. I haven't once turned encounters off, hell, I've gotten lost in a couple of areas, and I STILL struggle with random encounters, and I'm not quite 20 hours in yet.

rpgcrazied Sep 5, 2007 09:48 PM

It comes tomorrow! not to soon too, cuz I beat WA4 today at 25 hours ;/ Raquel rocked.. she was 2hitting bosses.. lol 15k a hit :P

I hope I can squeeze a tad more in V? guess we shall see
