True enough -- I forgot about Newegg prices. They're always quite low.

Has anybody played Pursuit Force yet?

My massive library of 3 games has gotten a little stale (aside from Lumines), and unlike most PSP games, this game isn't just a port. I was pretty much sold by the video where your character jumps from one car to another, but I was wondering if anyone who actually owns the game could either recommend buying it or staying away from it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I read a while ago that the PSP can currently support up to 4 GB, and a firmware is being planned for the release of this new memory stick. I think I read it on www.psphacker.com when they first talked about it way back when...I'll check.

I picked up Samurai Warriors: State of War for PSP today, and although I didn't play Dynasty Warriors (PSP version), from what I've played of this game so far, it is GREAT.

-19 Upgradable characters.
-Tons of scrolls (abilities) to unlock.
-No slowdown, no long load times.
-Widescreen (not boxed off)

And compared to what I recently played of Dynasty Warriors 4 (PS2), you can kill enemies a lot faster in this game, which is very satisfying. I love just barrelling into a group of baddies and slaughtering in several strikes, then triggering the musou.

The "short battles" system is fun, too. I like strategically moving my character across the grid-system map and totally wiping out the opponent's generals and supply depots one by one.

Fun fun fun.

I have the demo that PSU sent me and its pretty fun, the difficulty can see a bit uneven at some parts but its fun (might get a bit repetitive). Make sure you remap the controls for any of the helicopter gun scenes though, its a bitch to do with analog stick.

That's the next PSP game I plan to get after Megaman Powered Up! and Tales of Eternia...

...however, I'm going to wait to see a price drop (or find it used). I can't really justify a 40 dollar purchase for a puzzle platformer at the moment. If it was 30, I might consider it.

I'm waiting for Monster Hunter

Ramenbetsu Mar 10, 2006 08:34 PM

Im eagerly awaiting Untold Legends 2 and thats the only game for now, trying to make a nice "need to import" list as well.

Also with you. I'm playing UL1 and enjoying it much (especially playing wirelessly with neighbor).

Syphon Filter gets 9.3!!

I'm so excited to try this game, I love Syphon Filter, even though I only played the first game.

Same here, the only one I ever played was Syphon Filter for PS1. I loved it the first time I played it too. When is the release date?

cubed Mar 11, 2006 10:14 PM

next tuesday.. no wait, that's impossible. probably ONE DAY AFTER ITS RELEASE you'll be able to get it. The market sucks.

chato Mar 13, 2006 08:14 PM

chato Mar 13, 2006 09:52 PM

It says that its coming out tomorrow. i called this store in downtown (from where i live) saying that they'll get it in 3 weeks. eh..gay. i'll just get it somewhere else.

Question : anyone know when tales of eternia is coming out? and how is it different than the psx version?

SouthJag Mar 13, 2006 10:33 PM

If a game's release date is 3/14, that's actually its ship date. Stores like EB and GameStop receive it the next day. Megaman Powered Up! will be in stores Wednesday the 15th.

Never.

It's only going to be out in Japan and Europe (and Australia).

I just ordered it off eBay for around 50 bucks (but I'd recommend getting it from NCSX, since they just restocked and they ship from NYC).

Fluffykitten McGrundlepuss Mar 14, 2006 08:56 AM

I was about to say, Tales of Eternia has been out here for a while now (Like JazzFlight said). I bought Breath of Fire III instead though. I've never played any of the Tales games (Few were released here) whereas I have many, many happy memories of BoF3.

A nice addition for the PSP verison is you can play the fishing sub-game straight from the main menu and game share it with someone else's PSP. Multiplayer fishing antics, fucking awesome and worth the asking price alone I think.

SouthJag Mar 14, 2006 11:59 AM

They need to bring Breath of Fire 3 and Tales of Eternia to the States. Damnit, why aren't developers bringing this stuff over here! Hell, even Capcom's yet to bring the Megaman Legends ports to the States. ; ;

cubed Mar 15, 2006 01:44 AM

I'm probably picking Megaman Powered Up tomorrow (well today, as it's 2AM... anyway...)

I heard there are 2 new bosses... Wonder if their music theme will be as good as the rest... and the level editor..... WOOHOO

SouthJag Mar 15, 2006 03:24 AM

Oh man, I can't wait to get my copy. I told my assistant manager (whose position I'm about to take over. Yay. XD) to call me as soon as he sees it in the store.

Apparently SCEA doesn't approve of PSone ports. =\

SouthJag Mar 15, 2006 04:49 AM

Then what's with Popolocrois? T__T;

Infernal Monkey Mar 15, 2006 04:59 AM

Well, to be honest, I've never even heard of that game, but according to my fumbling around on IGN, the PSone original never got an American release, which would probably explain the PSP version making it over. =o
