I think this is the first time Nutty's forgotten to link to the wiki in his first post. The perfect opportunity to defy the rules!

Ballpark Frank Jun 2, 2009 02:28 AM

Burundi. Twice.

Tanzania. Twice.

I'll purchase two Tanks and roll them into Chad and Niger.

I'd say more, but Lord British is here and I'm completely exhausted.

I didn't forget; I haven't linked it for the new games because it's somewhat confusing for new players to mesh the old rules (turns, submitting numbers etc.) with the new format. That said, the basic rules haven't changed. It doesn't really matter here, since it's only one country, and I doubt Rockgamer's going to win this.

I'll begin by attacking the Congo, Sao Tome & Principe, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea.

That went remarkably well. I want to leave a buffer zone against Araes, so I'll leave the Central African Republic alone for now.

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 2, 2009 10:10 AM

Just to let you know, I'm disowning you as my brother if you let my murderer win this.

Rockgamer Jun 2, 2009 10:25 PM

Libya.

Sudan.

Araes Jun 2, 2009 11:40 PM

Attacking Niger (fail, fail, win)
Attacking Chad (fail)

Heh, predictably nicely under average. Ah well, game's over soon anyhow.

Not sure if I'll have 10 after the point refresh, but I'll throw some Tanks at Chad if I do.

Actually, this is the last round (I posted this 3 rounds ago, but no one responded). You've got 10 gil left even after the Tanks on Chad, so go ahead and spend it. We can wait.

I've updated the chart to include the latest moves, but I haven't updated Frank's Warlord gil, pending Araes' last move. Sorry for not updating the map yesterday evening; it slipped my mind.

Zergrinch Jun 4, 2009 12:44 AM

Ha, even when I haven't even popped my head in this thread, i still get remembered <3

Looks like they're planting turnips in Africa. Congratulations.

Is this like the second time you got backstabbed in Risk, Tritoch? :tpg:

nuttyturnip Jun 4, 2009 11:32 AM

Frank can go ahead and take his turn. I still forgot to update the map last night, but the chart is current.

Araes Jun 4, 2009 05:34 PM

Hmm, I thought we had another turn after this. Guess I miscounted. Anyhow, Tanks on Cameroon too if I've still got even more money. Why not. Sorry, would have checked sooner had I thought my turn wasn't long done.

Ballpark Frank Jun 4, 2009 05:43 PM

The chart isn't current, nuts. At least, not from where I'm standing. Aren't I in control of Chad? Saving my actions until the reply~

He did have 10 gil, and thus Araes took Chad. I've now updated the map, so everything is current.

Araes Jun 4, 2009 07:00 PM

If this is last turn, seems like you may have things in the bag. Seven countries ahead of the two who haven't gone, and still with your turn to come. Plus, you've got a decent bit of money. Hard not to have that work out.

Ballpark Frank Jun 4, 2009 07:15 PM

Attacking Sudan. Again.
CAR, also twice.

Then fuck it, buy two Tanks and roll them into CAR and Libya.

I realize this gives Nutty the game, but Rock really is evil.

nuttyturnip Jun 4, 2009 08:08 PM

Well, I was going to try to finish off the scourge of Africa, but Frank has blocked me off. Guess I'll have to settle for his pink lackey.

First up, Cameroon x2 and Nigeria x 2. That didn't go as well as planned.

Fine, Tanks on Nigeria and Chad.

Rockgamer may not have been wiped out, but Team Devin has learned a serious lesson.

We've learned nothing, except how to totally rag on all your asses by dealing out the most amount of damage in a single turn. Our efforts will not be matched so I am satisfied, even though I couldn't pull off the victory.

Anyway, attacking Libya, Egypt, and Sudan x2.

At least I didn't get beat by Frank. Good enough for me.

nuttyturnip Jun 5, 2009 03:01 PM

Technically, you're now tied with Frank, and you have 10 gil. If you want to purchase a Tank, be my guest.

The Plane Is A Tiger Jun 5, 2009 03:48 PM

Yeah, the only lesson I see here is that Team Devin will utterly destroy its enemies and carry its (non-traitorous) allies to the end.

That's nice and all after-school special-like, but what's the point if you don't win?

Araes Jun 5, 2009 07:30 PM

With how much crap I took from the dice this game, I'm honestly just happy I made it out of it with some territories intact. Right around the 5 straight loss turn I figured I was doomed.

Well certainly. I can definitely sleep better at night if I'm able to proclaim victory over Frank. So tanks into Ethiopia.

Also, don't gloat too much, nutty. I'm pretty sure four people remaining is one of the highest amounts of people left for an endgame, so your victory is hollow at best. As hollow as the African people's love for you.

Apparently statistics is another weakness of Team Devin. Games 10, 7, 6, 5, and 3 all ended with 4 players remaining. Risk 2 ended with 5 players; Risk 8 ended with 2, Risk 9 probably would have ended with 4 if Tritoch hadn't slaughtered everyone, and I've lost the spreadsheets for Games 1 and 4. Anyway, at least half the games ended with 4 players, so go back to math class before your poor arithmetic skills rub off on my impressionable natives.

Rockgamer Jun 5, 2009 09:06 PM

I stand by what I said. I didn't say it was the highest amount ever, just one of the highest amounts.

Also, maybe that's just evidence that you end games too early. Just saying.

Could be. The thing is, once you get down to 4 players, everyone has exhausted their money, and there's no one left to wipe out for more money/items. We could battle back and forth for 20 more turns, but the result would most likely be a stalemate.

I smell a GFF Risk: Ludo Edition coming.
