Also, the other thing that keeps tripping me up is the medic's new weapon. A number of times I've charged into people hoping to poison them only to realize I just have that shitty needle gun. Then I'll just switch to the shovel and start slamming people. :p

Come fight me on Melee Mountain! I'll whack you around a bit with my fists of death.

StarmanDX Feb 23, 2008 10:42 PM

We might be starting up a GFF game of TF2 soon if anyone wants to join. Come to the group chat room if you're interested.

Hopefully the "Last Five Posts" feature helps people see this.

Jinn Feb 23, 2008 11:35 PM

Sounds fantastic! I should be there soon.

StarmanDX Feb 23, 2008 11:39 PM

Ack. Well, we had a server until a moment ago. I don't know what we're going to do now.

Guru Feb 24, 2008 03:28 AM

My Steam ID is: Guru IQ

I have TF2 and Audiosurf.

Krelian Feb 24, 2008 05:54 AM

I got Audiosurf last night, and holy shit this game rocks and I can't even get high scores on obscure songs oh my god what the fuck.

My name's fnool on it (same as SteamID).

(you started that TF2 game an hour after I went to bed :()

Conan-the-3rd Feb 24, 2008 07:16 AM

Camcleod99

I have Portal and Goldeneye:source, that's it.

Rollins Feb 24, 2008 05:59 PM

You can find me with my creatively named Steam ID of Rollins. Just joined the group.

I've mostly been playing TF2 and Audiosurf recently, but I've been having fun playing older games with Steam as well.

Ah, there was TF2 action to be had? I'm down for the next round, if I happen to be around.

Lukage Feb 24, 2008 06:00 PM

Anyone care for some fun with Garry's Mod 10 tomorrow night perhaps? :D

Single Elbow Feb 24, 2008 07:28 PM

IdleChill Feb 24, 2008 07:35 PM

Hey gang.
If anyone wants to have admin over the group, hit me up with a PM. I'm a lot busy with school and work at the moment, but since we have enough members to organize a good sized event I'm thinking we need some people to post announcements and get the ball rolling.

So anyone that plays on Steam a lot and want to maybe communicate with the group via Group Announcements let me know!

Lukage Feb 27, 2008 10:03 PM

I nominate StarmanDX based on the number of times I see his name pop up on my task bar as playing a Steam game.

Jinn Feb 27, 2008 10:16 PM

I second that motion! Starman has some fine organizational skills if the Urban Dead thing we had going on a couple of years ago is any indication.

Immortal Feb 27, 2008 10:22 PM

Steam Name = ImmortalRane.

I only play CS/CS:Source though. Usually private pugs and such but I'm down for some deathmatch at times :)

StarmanDX Feb 28, 2008 04:06 AM

I'd certainly like to try my hand at it, but don't forget that we can have multiple admins if anyone else does as well.

I haven't been playing TF2 as much as of late, but the overhaul should revitalize my interest when it finally comes out. And maybe we'll get a weekly TF/CS/DM thing going on Fridays/Saturdays.

Matt Mar 1, 2008 06:57 PM

OK I'll set StarmanDX up with admin, but we can have more admins like he said, so if you want to help drop a line or something.

Grail Mar 1, 2008 07:20 PM

Mah Steam ID = Grail-ums

Not on too often, but every now and then I get a hankerin to play CS:S or TF2

Freelance Mar 2, 2008 02:04 AM

Oh, I guess it's time for an update. I have TF2 now and I just came back from a several-hour long session. It's quite fun. I'm getting to be much better at the game, with 26 points and two achievements ;3 Sadly I can't play during the weekdays.

Maybe someday I'll play with you guys :3

StarmanDX Mar 8, 2008 08:40 PM

Since we apparently don't have a general TF2 (aside from the Beta one) or Orange Box thread and I don't want to start a new one just for this, I'm putting these here (since it should interest most of us here anyways). First, an update from a couple days ago that I nearly missed:

Quote:

  • Removed sv_alltalk from the list of convars that affect custom server tags
  • Fixed Demoman grenades not hurting the shooter if fired at point blank range against a target
  • Fixed critical modifier for explosive weapons (rockets, pipe bombs) increasing critical chance more than intended
  • Fixed Sudden Death "seconds have passed" string not including the amount of seconds that have passed
  • Fixed Internet and Custom tabs in the Server Browser not correctly displaying the server information for servers when going back and forth between the two tabs

HOLY FREAKING CRAP YES, FINALLY.

And the other, supposedly an email from Robin Walker of Valve noting the canning of the Medic Overhealer:

Thanks a bunch for the long & detailed feedback. It’s always great to get feedback with this amount of time & thought put into it. We’re still thinking about the relationship between the Pyro & the core combat classes, in particular that of the Pyro & the Soldier. We’ve tried a couple of things in our internal playtests, but haven’t found anything we like enough to ship yet. The recent update to the flamethrower with the audio cue played when you’re hitting an enemy seems to have been a good step.

No details on the Pyro’s unlockable weapons yet, sorry. We’re still focusing on the Medic, and the underlying system. Your fire axe will be happy to hear that the Overhealer didn’t work out as well as we wanted it to, and won’t be making an appearance.

Robin.

On the plus side a pyro buff would be nice, especially in pyro vs. soldier.

Terra Mar 26, 2008 11:03 AM

ID's Xilanne, but I only play Audiosurf. I don't know if that'll ever change. :erm:
