I'd also like to mention that Auburn just pulled out a big win in a really intense last few minutes at Arkansas. Three field goals. They somehow managed to contain both McFadden and Felix Jones. Surprising victory for Auburn, despite their being more highly ranked than Arkansas.

AP rankings are up!
AP Top 25 1. Ohio State (50) 7-0 1,599 2. South Florida (11) 6-0 1,503 3. Boston College (1) 7-0 1,448 4. Oklahoma (1) 6-1 1,399 5. LSU (1) 6-1 1,331 6. South Carolina 6-1 1,247 7. Oregon 5-1 1,177 8. Kentucky 6-1 1,098 9. West Virginia 5-1 1,090 10. California 5-1 1,065 11. Virginia Tech 6-1 951 12. Arizona State (1) 7-0 948 13. USC 5-1 932 14. Florida 4-2 865 15. Michigan 5-2 189 25. Kansas State 4-2 107 Hmm. USC actually dropped in ranking by 3 positions. I was hoping they would at least stay at #10 or maybe drop one position. But 3? |
That is what happens when you lose to a terrible team and then the next week almost lose to another terrible team.
Also, I am pretty surprised that South Florida is ranked number two. I think this year might be one of those years where both teams playing in the big game have losses. |
Well...for the Rose Bowl it looks like its going to come down to the following games as long as Cal, USC and Oregon keep playing strong.
Cal vs. USC USC vs. Oregon If Cal manages to shake the loss to Oregon St. off and have Longshore stay healthy Cal has a good chance to possibly make it to the BCS championships. USC its hard to see them making it to the BCS championships. |
Here is the new USA Today poll:
USA Today Poll 1. Ohio State (56) 7-0 1,495 2. Boston College (1) 7-0 1,383 3. South Florida (3) 6-0 1,320 4. Oklahoma 6-1 1,288 5. LSU 6-1 1,173 6. Oregon 5-1 1,077 7. West Virginia 5-1 1,007 8. South Florida, by far, has the best resume of the remaining unbeatens. The other 5 have pretty much played a cupcake schedule. And I wouldn't really be impressed if BC, Kansas (up to the Big-12 title game anyway), or Hawaii went undefeated.
|
Kansas doesn't play anyone, so I'm not really worried about them. They'll suck in conference play (Ehh, we probably will, too. Oh well)
|
As odd as this may sound, I'm not very happy South Carolina is ranked so high. The UNC game was horrible. I sat in the stands thinking, "we might lose to UNC...what the fuck."
I hope Steve gets the boys working. We play like that against Florida or Tennessee, and we're dead. I would much rather be sitting at 12th or 13th and have somewhere to go. The BCS computer rankings blew my mind the most. If I understood it correctly, the computers has us ranked at 3rd. I'm glad the AP poll and USA today rankings brought it down. The team is good, but not 3rd. |
And here are your BCS computer Rankings
1 Ohio State 2 South Florida 3 Boston College 4 LSU 5 Oklahoma 6 South Carolina 7 Kentucky 8 Arizona State 9 West Virginia 10 Oregon 11 Virginia Tech 12 California 13 Kansas 14 USC 15 Florida 16 Missouri 17 Auburn 18 Hawaii 19 Virginia 20 Georgia 21 Tennessee 22 Texas 23 Cincinnati 24 Texas Tech 25 Michigan God I hope the Pac 10 takes out Arizona St. |
If the season ended today, then, I guess it would be:
NCG: Ohio State vs. South Florida Rose: Arizona State vs. LSU Orange: Boston College vs. Oklahoma Fiesta: Kansas vs. Pac-10 #2 (in all likelihood) Sugar: South Carolina vs. West Virginia/Virginia Tech Worst bowl season ever. |

Also, LSU has got a big game against Auburn this weekend. It won't be a cakewalk, that's for certain. Deathvalley has its advantages, but as Florida showed two weeks ago, it isn't full proof. russ and I shall duke this one out. :boxing: |
USC and Notre Dame this Saturday. USC with a 19 point spread. Either way, I think this will be an interesting game. Sanchez will most likely play and ND is staring a new QB. Last time USC played at South Bend, we almost lost. 7 seconds with Bush pushing Leinart for the touchdown.
Oh, and LOL at ASU. #8! They'll be playing Cal and Oregon next so we'll see. Beat the Irish! |
I think this is kinda bullshit that ASU is ranked below Cal and Oregon, as far as AP, USA Today and Harris. I can understand why but thats crap since they are undefeated in the Pac-10
|
ASU hasn't played jack shit. What, do you think Kansas should be ranked ahead of everyone too?
Kansas hasn't played anyone either, but at least they blow the crap out of everyone they play. ASU has struggled against some of its lesser opponents. |

USF lost tonight! Upset by unranked Rutgers 30-27. This should do LSU some good, especially with a win against Auburn Saturday!
|
Wow, Baylor is only down 10-7 to Texas, that alone is a huge upset.
|
Alright, so far we have two teams in the top 10 that are out
USF and South Carolina. |
Kentucky is on its way to being the third top ten team of the week to go down.
|
Kentucky is done. Theres no way they're going to get 12 or so points in 15 seconds
Additional Spam: Oh My God...the end of the LSU game...amazing... |
The fact is that Auburn's defense sort of broke down in the second half, however, the officials fucked Auburn so hard. First they wave off a very warranted flag so that LSU gets credit for a touchdown, then on the final drive, they give LSU the most ridiculous spot I have ever seen. They spot the ball nearly a full yard past where it should have been spotted, which of course gave them a first down. I mean when the official, who is standing right there, spots the ball beyond even where the player slid, much less where he was actually down, come on, that's just bogus.
|
Seems like officiating today was just...fucked up in general.
The Cal v. UCLA game was filled with some of the worst officiating ever as well. |

Also, I love how Coach Miles didn't know how much time was left on the clock when he had Flynn throwing it deep in the endzone at the very end. |
Auburn should've challenged it.
More crap Okay, so fuck any other polls we got going on here, these are the only ones that matter now BCS RANKINGS Quote:

These BCS standings are messed up. Last week was WVU's bye week and they went down a ranking. This week was Boston College's bye week and they went up. Unless I'm mistaken, I didn't see Arizona State play this week either and they went all the way up to #4? Again, I'd rather not use WVU as an example but when they had their first loss...it was to a ranked team and they went from #5 to #13, granted that wasn't BCS standings. LSU loses to a ranked team and they go down to #4? How the hell does that work?
I'm surprised Oklahoma went down this week. They did just as well as Ohio State did, yet they dropped to #6. |
