No prob. I'm actually surprised it wasn't Chibi-Tech, since this kind of thing seems to be his specialty. Although how did you find out it was by Tony Thai?

The NSF has "2007 Tony Thai" on the copyright tag. And yeah it totally sounds like Chibi-Tech! I thought he was the only one who could do speaking voices on the NES (although his talking NES voice stuff and NES tracks in general still sound a lot better in my opinion).

Yeah I've been pretty impressed with the goofy stuff the Japanese people have been coming up with for this show. There's also a pretty good NES remix of the main theme here:

Haha. Mega Man dancing. Nice.

Yeah, that one sounds more accurate, but I like the Mega Man one better. The one on the Mega Man video actually sounds like music and not just random jibberish.

Hey, at least they are actually girls this time. I think

Probably the best one so far.

AFK's 8 is out. Konata's Dad. :tpg:

I don't think it's been said enough:

Japan is just plain fuckin' wierd and I think it's high time we send them another nuke.

Cry.

At least it was timed relatively well. I can't say the same for the choreography though. :eagletear:

I can't believe it took me 3-4 viewings of episode 8 to realize that most of the female characters (fellow students in the sports fest, female accidently locking keychains with another student) were actually voiced by obvious male voices!!

Made me LOL!!

I found out about this show in a screening room at Animazement and I adored it. All the mech jokes in ep 2 were great and the Gunbuster reference made it instant win in my book.

Haha, I thought that was hilarious! They've done that once before when they did a parody of Pani Poni Dash. That's really one of the funniest little details they put into the show in my opinion.

Spoiler:
I wonder why Konata didn't help her dad (since he said that he "thought" his daughter was there, and she really was!). I guess she's kinda embarrassed by her dad, but the fact that she keeps bringing him up makes me think otherwise, so I guess it's something else.

Does this show really merit spoiler tags?

hikarub Jun 1, 2007 01:07 PM

I'm not sure but....
Spoiler:
.....I think her Dad's a bit of a perv....?

Well, he plays adult sim games for gosh sake, and was pretty much probably just there for the opportunity to take as many photos of girls as possible. In the beginning he was interviewed on TV saying he was there to support his daughter, when in fact his daughter was at home because her sports fest was still days away.

I think Konata knows, but just lets him do what he wants. Then again, maybe she didn't help when he was being hauled away because she didn't want to be associated with him? (When Miyuki commented on his camera, Konata didn't acknowledge him or introduce him to her friends.....)

.......

...you used tags so I'll use them too.....

:D

I gave this show a watch after watching episode 1 yesterday. Now I'm on episode 5 and I must say it isn't bad like people assume it is. The animation looks colorful and it might throw a few people off from it but the comedy and Konata saves the whole show. It's also more different than Azumanga Daioh. If not on par with it then maybe better. I'll be looking into this til it finishes. I dig the whole references to other animes and manga (though there are too many that I'm not familiar with).

ps : Episode 5's ed theme was the best XD. Glad to know there are still DBZ fans out there..

KILL.IT.WITH.FIRE!!

Geez...it fails on so many level it's not even funny.

Dhsu Jun 5, 2007 10:59 PM

I dunno, aside from the actors being slightly...unphotogenic...I thought it was pretty well done overall. The pom-pom thing looked like it would've been really hard to get right, but it turned out very nicely.

Bonus: Presenting the full REDALiCE remix of the OP:

Miyuki getting the eyedrops was the highlight of episode 9 for me (someone even extended the scene... the "Eyedrop Cruelty Version"). Lucky Channel is definitely bouncing back with their self-referential humour.

This show is so successful, it doesn't even make sense.

Kairi Li Jun 7, 2007 02:52 AM

The first video.... what game and are those mods?! WTF?

surasshu Jun 7, 2007 01:01 PM

I really enjoyed episode 9, and I was especially amused by Konata's enthousiasm about the mail-in prices. That's exactly the way I am when I order stuff online. When it's a preorder, I even get 3 levels of excitement. First when I place the order, second when I get the email that it's been sent out, and third when it arrives! :D

Omnislash124 Jun 7, 2007 01:10 PM

lol, Episode 9...eyedrops scene...priceless. :tpg:

Anyways, I found this time's Lucky Channel to be a bit more amusing and not continuing the downward slope that it's been on since the first one.

Also, is it just me or is it the SAME GUY doing every single random minor character's voice?

Bigblah Jun 7, 2007 01:36 PM

And this is the Initial D parody scene, synced to the original audio from that show:

YouTube Video

Now I get the point of Konata's little dialogue with her teacher :(

aviness Jun 14, 2007 04:41 AM

Hahaha, now i get the Initial D part... That's insane.

And I found this online... pretty cool.
The beginning might be a little annoying but, it is awesome!
It is ASCII version of OP video.

YouTube Video

Kairi Li Jun 14, 2007 05:04 AM

Woah, is there some program that converted the video to ASCII? Or did this guy actually MADE this? O_O

aviness Jun 14, 2007 05:07 AM

I hope he converted it using a program, for his own sake... hehehe

hikarub Jun 14, 2007 07:01 AM

He must've used some sort of program, there's no way he could've made it all by himself......even the credits are still included!

episode 10 was pretty cool. The sleepover at Konata's house was funny, as well as pretty enlightening.
Spoiler:
Konata's Mom looked just like Konata according to a photo album Tsukasa looks through in Konata's room. They mistook the photo as a picture of Konata and her father, before Kona-chan points out that it's her mom. Now we know why Konata's so short, but that picture was kind of...... o_O

New cell for Tsukasa! And this time it comes with a Tamama phone strap! :D And she totally plays around with it......I guess we all mess around with new toys before we eventually settle down with them.

Made me LOL....."Kagami-sama!"

Magi Jun 14, 2007 12:23 PM

Is it just me or they are trying to sneak in as many meme in this anime as possible?

Spoiler:
Didn't she mention that her parents know each other since they were little? Man, if we summarize Konata's life it might sound like one of those tragic dating theme heroines or something.

hikarub Jun 19, 2007 09:10 AM

I loved the random stuff in episode 10.....

Also, could anyone make out the manga titles in Konata's room?

Spoiler:

http://h1.ripway.com/hikarub/334362-capture09.JPG

I think I can make out Full Metal Panic! and Scryed in there (I think it could be them). Anyone have any idea on the rest?
