Wow, those are really good.

I like the tribal design only because really detailed tattoos usually look too busy.

You know, I really need a tattoo or something. I'm so completely white bread in appearance and I just don't feel or act that way. My girlfriend fears that I'm gonna hit age 35 and go on some massive rebellious spree because I never did anything crazy in my young age.

It's just that damn permanence thing. I absolutely can't figure out what I want to get branded on me for the rest of my life. And no, I won't get a Stewie tattooed on me. Cartoon characters seem completely cliche. Anyone got any ideas? :P

And yes, I DO want one. I'm not on the fence about it. If I knew exactly what to get I sure as hell would do it.

Well, I'm here and living in New Jersey. I saw this thread notified and bumped in the control panel and had almost forgotten about my promise to myself to someday get a tat while I'm up here. I have plenty of time to talk with my brother about something (given his tats I know he's got tons of good people I can go to to get one) but I still dunno what I wanna get, if anything. Maybe I'll jot some designs out in my spare time... **shrugs**

I got this not too long ago. I like it, but it's on the side of the ankle that I don't look at too often. Oh well.

I'm with SuperNova on the tatt thing. I would like one, but I have yet to think of a really good design with meaning and whatnot. I'm not squeamish, and have a pretty high pain tolerance, but it's though trying to think of the what and where.

Dunno; I'm lucky that I have a bit of artistic talent, so I definitely want to design my own tattoo, maybe of some animal, place, or phrase/words~.

My Fiance and I are thinking about getting one each but the biggest concern I have is in terms of my tolerance toward pain.

I truly don't know what I'm capable of in terms of the pain that comes with getting a tattoo. I've talked to quite a few people about it and it a lot of people say thats its not painful as long as the tattoo is done where there is some muscle or mass on your body. They tell me the most painful area to get a tattoo is that anything that involves bone.

I'm just thinking of getting the kanji symbol for Angel on my upper right arm. Its just a name that my first girlfriend use to call me and its kind of stuck on me ever since. I know when I eventually get a tattoo its what I really want.

I probably going to go ahead with it when I get home full time.

Next spring I'll be starting with the tattoos. My best friend and I are getting matching ones of "TFU" but we're not sure where yet. It's half-homage to Simon Pegg/Nick Frost and half-homage to our 9 year long friendship.

Is it possible to ink over scars? I've got a couple of rather nasty ones that look to be permanent and I really want them covered.

Honestly, the pain is nothing. It's more along the lines of 'discomfort', much like a scratch. Mine felt like someone scratching on my arm with a fingernail, and that was about it. Last summer I got the outline of a Canadian maple leaf on my wrist, and once I've got some more money want to have it shaded and made into a sprig of leaves. Now, this is the "show me your tats" and not "tell me about your tats" thread I realize, but have no digital camera, so you'll have to take my word for it. ;)

Yes, you definitely can. I know a few people who have covered scars with tattoos.
