The included stand differs slightly from the MG Freedom version in that besides the design of the base (Strike Freedom's Dragoons as opposed to Freedom's wings in HI-MAT mode) a joint was included to facilitate better flight simulated posing, as demonstrated here:

Definitely a great Christmas present, that I'll be getting for myself.

OH YEAH!!! This bad boy looks better than the 1/60.
I was looking at hlj.com and they got 2 MG SF listed.
One is with "SP Option Parts" and the other is without it.
Does anyone know what that means? There's also a noticable difference in the price of the two.

hikarub Nov 23, 2006 11:24 AM

Yeah, I mentioned that on the last page. The special option version includes DRAGOON effect parts, gold-plated joint parts, and a custom stand. I'm not sure how the custom stand differs from the one in the above pictures. I guess we'll have to wait and see in December.

I'm looking forward to seeing what the Dragoon effects parts will look like. I hope they'll be better than the lame ones included with the HG Strike Freedom, HG Shiranui Akatsuki, and the 1/100 Legend. Those were pretty plain-looking. I want to see Dragoons zipping around in arcs, and every Dragoon launching, not just 3 or 4.

That would be awesome!!

:D

jouhou Nov 24, 2006 01:36 AM

oh, the site uses the same pictures for both versions so I didn't see a difference. So the non special parts doesn't have dragoons and no gold plates? That's uncool..

Check it out!! MG SF "SP Options Part", I'm guessing.
The gold plates are soooooo shiny =)

Woohoo! Got my MG Strike Freedom - Burst Mode kit a while ago. Hadn't had a chance to start putting it together yet, kind'a miffed at having to color some of the gold parts. Oh yes, though the special edition version (Burst Mode) comes with gold plated parts, not all those parts are gold plated. Some are still that crappy dark yellow plastic thingy. I had to resort to using a gold Gundam Marker to color in some of the bits and pieces. Would've been easier to just buy some gold Gundam spray and spray the whole runners in one go, but all the gold spray is sold out!! WTF?! Hmmm, maybe other people who bought the MG Strike Freedom had the foresight to buy some spray at the same time. Unfortunately, I had no way of knowing I would need gold spray until I opened the box.....

Well, if you're a Akatsuki fan then you'll probably be pleased to know that Bandai will release a 1/100 scale of the Akatsuki Gundam later in March. Hobby Japan have come out with some pics of a black prototype in their March issue:

http://h1.ripway.com/hikarub/HobbyJapan-Akatsuki.jpg

From the pics, the Akatsuki looks pretty cool. And unlike the 1/144 HG version, there won't be 2 seperate versions of the Akatsuki with it's different backpacks. The 1/100 kit will include both Oowashi and Shiranui packs in the same box. Not sure if the gold armor will be gloss like the HG version or not...

Looks nice, but I'd better get on with my MG Strike Freedom and PG Strike Rouge before buying anything else....

1/100 Akatsuki looks nice; it doesn't have color yet but it still looks good.

Hikarub, after you're done making your MG S-F, would you mind putting up pictures of your end product? Also, how much did you pay for MG S-F Full Burst? There's a place near where I live selling it for like $100 and the non Full Burst is like $55. o_O

hikarub Jan 31, 2007 08:46 PM

Well, I bought the Full Burst version for HK$589 and the normal version was selling for like HK$328 or something like that, so I guess it's kind'a the same at your place, in terms of the difference between the 2 versions. But that's pretty expensive all the same....

That should mean I bought my Full Burst for US$75 or something?

Oh yeah, I'll definitely post some pics when I'm done!! :D
