well, i must say that the best for me was BM2, this one is ok.
i like the extreme, and opening bomb mission. |
They said on their promo videos that it was going to be heavier than the previous albums - far to much organ work in this album - they've gone soft on us. The arrangements are predictable. The only fresh sound seems to be in Distant Worlds, Premonition was good as well, but not enough to lift the rest of the album up. Assault of the Silver Dragons has lost it's urgent theme and it now sounds slower and 'happier.'

I must say I'm pretty disappointed with the latest Black Mages album. I was expecting something heavier and less with "synth". Although it has it's good parts, most of the album is boring and predictable.

The rhythm guitar is WAY too soft. I'd hardly even call this a metal album. It's more like a j-synth-pop album, which is a horrible direction for them to go. Terribly dissapointed. Especially with bombing mission and extreme. UGH.
I really liked darkness and starlight though. And of course distant worlds, but that's a given. |
So, has anyone watched the DVD yet?
