2. What exactly am I supposed to edit?
Start of with changing the graphics, when you open the existing sff file I think that the way screenpacks are built will be clear to you (more or less). Also read the System.def to see the structure of the screenpack, there should be sidenotes that will clear things out.

If you could post a link for a decent tutorial this would be appreciated as I'm sure you have probably gone through this already at some point on this thread.
I'm not really sure if there is any tutorial, at least I didn't find any. I learn by editing various aspects. Well, try for yourself and you'll see.

It not really enables victory quote screen, you have to code it into the character. But the game I'm going to release will have characters that way, that is the plan at least, the sad thing is I don't think I'll code all the characters before I'll leave the board.

I asked this before but w/e. Will your screenpack enable victory screens for all of the characters?

Lazyguy Sep 3, 2006 05:58 PM

Soldier i saw a vid of a guy using bison and just using psycho crusher got through the level in 9 secs or something i thought it was hilarious. That level would be fun to have if anyone could find it...
Also the pics of the peach and tifa were acurate. Tifa looks horrible in mugen but peach does somewhat better.

you'll need to run dos2win.exe in the char's directory and then do this (excerpt from the forum):

Now, if your character crash WINMUGEN when you run him (I mean, after the VS screen, WINMUGEN close and show a message saying "Begin action" many times) is because the AIR file issues. To solve this problem, simply let's run MCM (Mugen Character Maker, you can download it in Street Mugen), open the AIR file (F3) with this program and without changing nothing, let's save it in another folder. After that, move the new air file created to the orignal ubication of the old AIR file, and it's done. Now, try it choosing that character again, and you'll see that WINMUGEN don't crashes, and the character runs perfectly.

here's the link to the entire post:
randomselect.i-xcell.com/forum/index.php?topic=1879.0

by the way, i've been looking for sfa gen too but can't find him so yes, if someone could up him, that'd be awesome!

I tried the above, but I guess my computer is a bit crappier than most. When I run dos2win it just shuts down instantly and won't go. And when I run Character Maker it won't open the AIR file...or any files in the directory. The other Predator is a nice creation (Unlike the Abyss (MvC2) and Sigma (MegamanX) I got which glitch WAY too much).

EDIT: I ran the Predator Hunter in Fighter Factory and just saved it and it worked! Also worked for some of the other non-win characters! Thanks for at least giving me the solution..!! :)

Thanks all!

I've assigned stages to all my characters, but mugen still randomly crashes during game play.

Lazyguy Sep 3, 2006 08:51 PM

i posted the link for gen a page back for anyone who payed attention.

cloud when you get characters you want to extract the files and then put that character file into your character file in your mugen. Then you want to find the .def file for the characere then go to rename but copy the name dont change it. Then go to the file that holds everything for the character and paste the name you copied over it. Then go to your screenpacks select screen and put the paste the name again wherever the name is supposed to go. If you still have troubles try some of the solutions posted through this topic as they will definetly help you.

I searched this thread and couldn't find the url...must have been on a page I was skimming through. I've read through all 38 pages (as of this writing) and reaped what I could so I didn't look like a noob asking for the same stuff over again.

I am going to update the stagepack collection soon...

You could just give us the font buttons and we can replace it ourselves, at least that's as far as I can go right now. If you're willing, I would like the following categories.

Cartoon (as in non-japanese ones)
JoJo
NES
Games
MB (Melty Blood. Maybe M Blood)
SF (Street Fighter)
SNK
Comic (or DC and Marvel, respectively)
Live (live characters like Omega Tom Hanks or Zidane)
XXX (the more risque characters)
Megaman
Bonus

I noticed something, Whenever Order Sol wins a match, the BGM cuts off. I remember this in the actual Guilty Gear, but its become a real Earsore in my Mugen. I've tried to figure it out, but have had no luck. Does anybody know how to fix this?

WooshaQ Sep 4, 2006 09:57 AM

Search Sol's cns files for "flag = nomusic", it should be under state 1, after you find it put a ";" in from of every State 1 line os it would look like this:

Quote:

;[State 1]
;type = AssertSpecial
;triggerall = Win
;trigger1 = RoundState != 2 && RoundsExisted = 0
;trigger2 = RoundState >= 3 && RoundsExisted != 0
;flag = nomusic

Or you could simply replace all nomusic with noshadow...

Lazyguy Sep 4, 2006 11:24 AM

had the same problem once as well but i used wooshaq's method and it worked like a charm. I suspose that shinobi's would work as well but i havent tried it.

WooshaQ Sep 4, 2006 11:35 AM

It would disable the characters shadows for the KO animation time. If you really want to put something there use "nobardisplay" it will nicely hide the lifebars.

CloudStrife Sep 4, 2006 11:36 AM
