45 minute CTF splitscreen at 1am after having played for six hours already, having got to sleep the previous morning at 8.30am on a house party couch with two other people before going to work at 11.30am, not eating, and then going straight to the LAN (where at least there was pizza).
Edit: and I had a cold. And I still rained cats and dongs. You should see me without latency, you bad kid. I even climbed on top of the bases with sniper and shotgun because that shit is not fixed in the default Asylum variant, and I only felt a little guilty. (I have also been playing the Football Manager 2011 demo and The Misadventures of PB Winterbottom and the Alan Wake DLC, so stop judging me on my single-game fanaticism. It's not my fault Reach is simply the best one.) |
Why you mad though? Also I had to get off this morning AT 999 KILLS for the weekly :(
|
Maybe if you didn't suck so much at Elite Slayer you'd HAVE THOSE KILLS
|
I would have gotten it if we were playing on Asylum!
|
Fuck that noise.
I like how the Grunts flip the fuck out if you jetpack on top of the box that's on the roof of the building you spawn in on Outpost. They literally start taking the long route to try and get to the AA gun or climbing on the rocks to try and shoot you. It's so fucking easy to spot the bastards with the Fuel Rod Cannons from up there too. Also I'm really taking a liking to the Chiefs FF voice. Shot a bunch of dudes in the head and he was all "Heretic this" and I lol'd. |
BWU is up, 3 main highlights.
1) Progress towards the 117 million Challenges completed to raise the cap isn't going as fast as expected; unless people step it up it's looking like NOT early to mid November. To help encourage Challenge getting, one of Monday's Challenges will be to just play a game in Matchmaking with your profile linked on bungie.net. 2)This coming Tuesday they will be replacing Slayer DMR with Slayer Arena Pro in the Arena playlists (no radar). They will also be increasing the amount of voting options in Arena. 3)DLC Achievements detailed. -Totally Worth It (50): Earn a Double Kill from the Grave in multiplayer Matchmaking. -Both Barrels (50): Earn a Double Kill with the shotgun in multiplayer Matchmaking. -Cross-Mappin' (50): Kill a player at long range with the DMR in a matchmade Slayer game. -You Ate All the Chips (42): Collect all of the flags in a matchmade Stockpile game. -You Blew It Up! (13): Blow up the research facility in a matchmade Invasion game on Breakpoint. -Poppin' & Lockin' (25): Destroy a vehicle using Armor Lock in a matchmade game. -Offensive Driver (20): Earn a kill in a matchmade Rocket Race game. A couple are easy, but most are just like Halo 3's where you're probably going to have to get a full party that can comprise both teams to get some of these. They have apparently learned nothing. I like how they even encourage idiots to try doing Rocket Race assassinations now, sigh. Poppin' & Lockin' is hilarious though. No idea what's up with the You Blew It Up achievement, don't know if that's the objective in Invasion on one of the new maps or what. |
I thought in Rocket Race now you could kill anyone not on a vehicle? When anyone's on foot they get an orange marker over their head and a rocket hit or splatter will kill them. I remember getting a killing spree with Tails when we were all playing together once.
Still, I hate multiplayer achievements. Not that it matters to me since I doubt I'll ever get the Legendary solo achievement or even the complete on Legendary one. I seem to only be able to get 1,000/1,000 on long ass rpgs... |
Trying to win is probably where you're going wrong. If you really want to win, I find camping one end of the map so you get all the targets at the end is a winning strategy but it's fucking boring compared to blasting round the joint like a maniac. If you have a team mate who realises you can shoot rockets at the ground next to you for comedy air it always improves the game too.
|
Hmm, I thought you could only get assassination kills in Rocket Race, but I may be confusing that for Rally.
|
Probably. Anybody not on a mongoose is fair game in Rocket Race. You're invulnerable on it, but not off it. Shin and I actually got a killing spree/wheelman spree during a match once.
|
None of those achievements are very taxing. The hardest one is probably You Ate All the Chips, and it's just encouraging you to play the gametype well. It could have been a lot worse, honestly.
|
Heh, I didn't get a percentile for my Gold arena season. :( Shake you got 10% in Iron, does that mean you're better than like 90% of the dudes in the Sucks at Halo division?
(<3) Oh and the weekly is easy. 45 multikills. One of the dailies is campaign with Thunderstorm, Tilt and Mythic on on Heroic. Daravon ;___; |
Considering the ridiculous easiness of that "Play one game of matchmaking after linking your account to bungie.net" challenge, the cap busting thermometer skyrocketed today. It looks to me like the cap will be going up sometime this week, if not tonight, at the rate it's going.
|
Yea, cap looks like it'll be raised on Wednesday at the latest. Unless Bungie decides to wait until Friday, or something.
|
Level cap is raised. No official post yet, but word is that it's capped again at General Grade 4. Given the ridiculous amount of cR required to get that, I can't imagine that's much of an issue for most people though. The ranks past the cap for reference (please excuse the lazy copy/paste):
Commander 600,000 cR (+60,000 cR) Commander Grade 1 650,000 cR (+50,000 cR) Commander Grade 2 700,000 cR (+50,000 cR) Commander Grade 3 750,000 cR (+50,000 cR) Colonel 850,000 cR (+100,000 cR) Colonel Grade 1 960,000 cR (+110,000 cR) Colonel Grade 2 1,070,000 cR (+110,000 cR) Colonel Grade 3 1,180,000 cR (+110,000 cR) Brigadier 1,400,000 cR (+220,000 cR) Brigadier Grade 1 1,520,000 cR (+120,000 cR) Brigadier Grade 2 1,640,000 cR (+120,000 cR) Brigadier Grade 3 1,760,000 cR (+120,000 cR) General 2,000,000 cR (+240,000 cR) General Grade 1 2,200,000 cR (+200,000 cR) General Grade 2 2,350,000 cR (+150,000 cR) General Grade 3 2,500,000 cR (+150,000 cR) General Grade 4 2,650,000 cR (+150,000 cR) Additional Spam: Official word: There is NO CAP. Go nuts! |

Bungie.net : Reach : Service Record
A possible legit General Grade 2, Jesus Christ. Has almost all Campaign and Firefight Commendations at MAX Onyx. That aside, with the new higher ranks, the Game Complete bonuses are really improving now. For those not aware, they had said earlier that you would get more cR for games as your rank increased. Now that there's a much wider disparity in ranks, today we were comparing and m00 as a Major Grade 2 was getting say 600 cR for his bonus, and as a Colonel Grade 2 I was getting about double that. Playing this afternoon I was definitely getting more cR, most matchmaking games I was averaging 1,500-2,000, before the raise I was getting about 1,000-1,200. I posted on GAF to urk asking if there's any word that they've raised or eliminated the daily cR cap, but haven't heard back yet. With that much per match plus Challenges and Commendations, 60,000 a day starts to get tight. |
I see a lot of bitching going around the internets about the Arena changes. Seems like people are really butthurt about no radar simply because it greatly increases their chances of being assassinated ='(
|
Lmao, 19k-4d-3a in my first game of NEW ARENA. People are literally running past the other team and all kinds of shit you shouldn't do in non-radar gametypes.
I could get used to this. |
I'm going to try Arena again this season and hope that I don't get absolutely boned in terms of matchups like I did last season. I got turned off of that shit right quick.
Someone on SA said they got 7372 cR from the slot machine, so that gives an idea of how big the jackpot is. This video is awesome. |
Yeah, someone on GAF said they got something like 7913 from a slot machine last night.
