That ultimately is why I had to quit lol. As the only real friend I had in the game, you were hard as hell to meet up with. Everyone always said "go make some friends" like it's so easy to do. Anyway I'm probably way too low now, but I'm lvl69, drop me a line if I'm on.

Lukage Oct 5, 2007 12:20 PM

I basically was on for the last 3 days and saw nobody else on. :( On the plus side, I did go from level 26 to 32. :)

I'll be out of town this weekend, but I threw some crap in Luke's "Abuse my prices" shop as I don't know what anything's worth. :p

I'll stay logged in while at work for a few hours today. Feel free to stop by and drop off your card (I don't have Lizonia's card, still).

Inhert Oct 5, 2007 12:43 PM

I almost never play mmorpg during week days :\ mainly because I don't have enough time and this weekend I'm out of town for 2 days and I ave a lot of homework too >.< so there's little chance that I'll play :\

Blame time difference and real life stuff. :P Like my JOB.

I get cards by joining random parties, or helping newbies. Its not as hard as you think. If the person turns out to be an A-hole, just don't talk to them anymore, or even blacklist.

I even met up with people on PSO-WORLD, and got their cards too. People like Mitsunarari Ryuki, Feb, Ami etc play ALL the time.

I'm not sure if I will be on later, since even if I do, I can't play into the evening cause my mother's visiting. Though, better she visits THIS week before the 1UP Cup then DURING it... I'll mail if you guys are on.

Kairi Li Oct 8, 2007 03:41 AM

ISP is charging me a HUGE internet bill. (I hate Australia internet!)

So I can't be on too much till the 1UP actually starts.

EDIT: Nuts, double posted again...

Lukage Oct 8, 2007 02:59 PM

So I felt alone and grinded a bit. Kairi last saw me shortly after I became a Guntecher. I'm now Guntecher 5 and level 34! :D

Yay for 8 levels in a week where I have no time to play!

Also, some idiot was selling an item in his shop, so I'm now the proud owner of my first A-rank weapon, an Ageha-kikami. I snagged that SOB for only 25,000 meseta! :D

I'm debating whether to go infection or burn for it, but I hear there's lots of frost stuff in AoI, so I'll probably go for the DOT in that.

PSO-World.com - Phantasy Star Universe Items > Weapons

Winter Storm Oct 9, 2007 01:46 AM

80% of the enemies in the game is weak to ice. So itd make sense that AOI will flip that around to fire.

Kairi Li Oct 9, 2007 02:59 AM

I will be on tomrrow with my boyfriend and his buddies at around evening time Western time. Though we will be using our own vent server, if you wanna join in during then, I will ask if I can give out the server info tomrrow.

Since the bill is so freaking huge I have to cut down play time and episode downloads... Right when most of the shows are starting again too...

I hate Telstra....

Winter Storm Oct 9, 2007 07:40 AM

You're obviously on dail-up. Unless online capabilities are vastly different there than the US. Broadband too expensive? You wouldnt have to worry about huge bills due to be online for long hours. Around here in my town, its around 80-111$ /mo depending on other stuff you wanna add.

Broadband is definitly helpful if you do a lot of downloading. Is only a suggestion.

Trance Machina Oct 9, 2007 11:03 AM

I'm online 6-8 hours a day downloading 50-100gb a week or so and only pay $70USD? Definitely helpful. =)

God I feel so alone on the 360 servers, none of you play it. >:/ Wish I could just connect the servers for a day. My computer would DIE trying to run this even on low so 360 is my only choice. :(

Level 24 so far, having a hell of a time trying to find parties. Anyone know where I can go with like 2 NPCs (online story mode is good!) to level up? Not really interested in leveling up super fast, more like having fun machine gunning monsters to death with my Repeater muahahaha. >_>

EDIT: Reason I ask is because now I'm starting to see areas with the same level monsters but sometimes some are harder than others.

Winter Storm Oct 9, 2007 11:47 AM

You could try Agata Relics..or even Parum. Death will be plenty and it will take a long time to beat missions. Always keep the games open just incase.

Moatoob has the highest experience output in the game. But no one does it because of Vandas. Agata Relics is avoided because of Tengohs - they take years to kill even for a beast. All the reasons such missions are avoided are lazy reasons. Just hang in there..when 1UP comes, this is our one and only chance to catch up quickly lol.

I'm a bit surprized that its hard to find parties on the 360. Don't they have like 5 stars?

7 and 1/2 stars as of late. Used to be 12 and 1/2, but Halo 3 took some players away. They're slowly starting to filter back in. The biggest problem with PSU, much like lots of online RPGs, is the level spread. Most of the people that play the game joined towards the beginning, and most are focused on getting S rank weapons and so they tend to ignore leveling alts, and so it's difficult to find people to play with sometimes, for either platform really.

I'm level 20. I haven't been playing much lately but when the 1up cup comes around I'd like to powerlevel as much as possible. I play on the 360 servers now.

Its NOT dial up, its called "Australia's fucked up monopoly Telstra".

They have a upload/download limit to your broadband connection. The higher the limit, the more you pay, and if you go over the limit (which I did,) they start charging you per MB. Also, they will slow down your connection speed to dial up.

Australia's telecommunications is this fucked up. You don't know anything about it cause you live in another country. Just about every other country don't have this BS with their broadband service EXCEPT Australia. I know cause I lived in Hong Kong and LA, and naturally this would never have been an issue if I was still living there.

And its not even cause they're behind in the tech, I heard they have the tech recently to make this alot cheaper for people, but they don't want to implement it cause they KNOW they can leech more money off people.

So now I have to actually budget how much I download per month. I can't wait till I head back to LA next year and don't have to deal with this crap.

Don't you think after several monthes of being on PSU, along with downloading various things on torrents, not to mention uploading, that I would know the difference between dial up, broadband, and a fucking A-hole of a company that's dicking its consumers around?

I had broadband for years now, for god's sake. Don't patronise me.

I tried playing with Lukage today to see how bad the fucking ISP has affected how the game runs. If I managed to load into a mission, it actually comes out pretty ok. Its only a problem when I load between universes, on the mission counter, or heading back to my room.

I would probably avoid joing missions like Her Secret Mission, where if you D/C you screw everyone else, untill this whole thing blows over, which could take a month.

Thank god my boyfriend can help level my chars a bit and S rank hunt.

EDIT:Internet is back up to speed, so this was a case of Telstra's unreliable connection speed as oppose to the penalty BS.

Thank god, 1UP cup, I can still join in! (Unless Telstra fucks up again.)

DarkMageOzzie Oct 10, 2007 12:42 PM

That's pretty crappy Kairi, sorry you gotta deal with that crap. I know when one of my friends was overseas in the military, wherever he was they only had dial up. And he was playing Everquest, you can only imagine the phone bills. Too many countries allow monopolies that screw their citizens it seems like.

1. Calm down.

2. I wasn't aware that you had broadband. Upload/download limits didn't tell me what kind of connection you had. Don't take your anger out on me D= and I wasn't patronizing(or even trying), if I came off like I was, my bad. Also people will try to download anything with dail-up. I'm only human and can only assume.

I have read all of your posts again..and nothing indicating what connection you had..

3. Ok your ISP is functioning like a webhost provider which is poor business for a internet service provider. There isn't supposed to be download/upload limits for an ISP. Paying for that isn't even worth it. Next year is around the corner.

4. I have no bandwidth limits, but I have had my issues with comcast in the past and do know what its like to have a 10MB/s connection and it running at 14Kb/s. So yea I know partially what you're going through.

Kairi Li Oct 10, 2007 06:51 PM

You can't play PSU with a dial connection, and if I was, you would have noticed major lags in chats or missions, and I would have defintly disconnected several times. So, no need for me to explicitly state what connection I have, observing a little would have been conclusive enough.

That said, sorry I overeacted, just the way you posted seem to indicated that I know nothing about broadband or the internet, when every online MMO, including PSU, needs it.

Well, connection is back to normal at least... Hopefully if things go well, I can move back to LA with my boyfriend by May or June. Still got that large bill to pay off though... Its around 2500 US dollars.

Winter Storm Oct 10, 2007 08:17 PM

Oh>.< forgot about that.. Now I feel real retarded. Ah don't worry about it.

Lukage Oct 12, 2007 12:50 AM

Sell Canalia to regain the money for the bills. :p

I'll try to get on a bunch this weekend, then, so we can whore your time around!

The 1Up Platinum Cup is headed to the Xbox 360, PC, and PS2 servers on October 19th! This exciting global event is a partnership between 1Up.com and Gurhal Channel 5, and will take place in a virutal space: VR Gurhal. This event will be your only chance to pick up some of the rarest and most desired items of Phantasy Star Universe.

GUARDIANS will undertake missions and be evaluated on their intuition, friendship, endurance, and luck. These missions are extremely fun and will truly test GUARDIANS and their ability to perform under pressure. Strive to be the best and achieve the rank of "Platinum Perfect" and a prize so awesome, we can't talk about it here!
I assume that will be Thursday for us, Americans. What would be the best time for everyone to try to get on at the same time? It would be nice (well, at least for everyone not on the 360, in my case) to have several GFF'ers grinding out the precious XP and items during that period. *tries to get off work Friday*

Kairi Li Oct 15, 2007 06:20 AM

Will defintly be playing as much as possible during the entire event. After work, days off, you name it!

Same here. Since I'm not going to California like I planned, I'll be able to participate right away. Though I really got to start grinding though for the next couple of days. I'm only level 23. :(

Let's get ready~ :boxing:

Lukage Oct 15, 2007 05:47 PM

Well, I'm only 38, so no worries. Try to at least hit 25 though so you can do B-rank True Darkness runs with us, with or without the 1UP Cup effecting that. I'll try to hit an even 40 before the event as I don't know what level I'll have to be for A-rank missions. You should hopefully be able to run some True Darkness to level 30 (if you get really excited for it) to be sure you can do B-rank.

I FREAKING LOVE THIS COMMUNITY ON PSU!

lawl at Kairi Li's reaction to when you said "Fed them all to my PM".

Talking about PM's, it's annoying raising a range PM (kinda cheaply) because of the 5 star traps (+12 range) you can only hold 5 of. =(

GRM Shop -> Room -> GRM Shop -> Room -> GRM Shop -> Room :(

I wish the economy wasn't as broken as it is now. >E
