Kilroy Nov 1, 2006 06:18 AM

Hmm, there're really no games on that list which appeals to me. I'm getting Zelda for GC and then? Please put Elebits there. That was my number one launchtitle.

Or...

Spongebob Squarepants: Creature from the Krusty Krab!!

Free Wii Play with a remote? How's that work - Is a copy bundled with every remote, or what...?

It says "Wii Play (including a Wii Remote)".
I think Wii Play will be bundled with a wiimote in the US too?

...Wasn't DKC a Rareware game?!

Protom@nNeo Nov 1, 2006 10:15 AM

Pretty sweet footage of Punch-Out esqe boxing game has surfuced. http://moura.jp/frames/ippo_revolution/ After watching this I wonder why Nintendo didn't have Punch-Out ready for launch instead of the boxing mini game

In all honesty I haven't followed the whole Virtual Console aspect of the Wii but I'm interested to know if Nintendo plans to release every NES title in it's existence. The reason for this is because well, I have unfinished business with Jason on the NES. I never did get around to fnishing that game.
First surival horror title I've played, so to speak.

Omnislash124 Nov 1, 2006 11:35 AM

Jason? You mean Friday the 13th?

Anyways, what's the actual cost of Walmart's deal if you bought it separately?

1 Wii Console - $250
4 Games - 4 x $50 = $200
1 Nunchuck+WiiMote - $60
Wii Points - $20

Meh, if you really want to spend that much money at once. I'd rather parse it out.

Rareware developed it, but it's still a Nintendo property. Ex: Even if Retro stop developing for Nintendo, the Metroid Prime series still belongs to Nintendo.

I like how the only redeeming feature of VC list is Sega (OK, OK, Bomberman '93 and Super Star Soldier are also great). Although I have no idea what it was I expected to get in the first place from Nintendo.

wait? Walmart is having a deal? (since this seems to be the only location that seems to be the last resort).

Also, that VC list was lame, I was expecting moar N64 games (and for christ sakes...TWO SNES GAMES?!) but I suppose Mario 64 can keep me busy for the time being (or until OoT is available).

JasonTerminator Nov 1, 2006 01:14 PM

Walmart's "deal" is a bundle on thier website. Over $500 fucking dollars.

Honestly, unless Amazon gets more in their site, it looks like the only option for people who didn't pre-order is to camp out.

K_ Takahashi Nov 1, 2006 01:16 PM

shiiiit...

All I really need is the system, an extra wiimote, nunchuck and the classic controller and I'll be all set since those damn wiipoints cards will be easily found.

Cheezeman3000 Nov 1, 2006 09:14 PM

I was surprised as well at the lack of N64 games... AND WHY DOES EUROPE GET DKC BUT NOT THE US?!?!?!
*sigh* The Donkey Kong series was one of my favorites on the SNES... I guess we'll get it eventually!
And, quite frankly, I don't care as much about what VC titles the Wii is launching with, since I'll be drowning in the new Zelda, and by the time I'm ready to move on they'll have like every game ever concieved available on the VC, assuming they DO release 10 games a month on it.

Exactly. They're saving the popular games for droughts. So when summer is here and their best release is "Paint Drying: Watch it Before Your Eyes!," they can release, say, Ocarina of Time?

Yup! Keep in mind guys that more VC games are on the way. On a monthly basis if I recall what I read correctly.

Anyway, Yahoo has set up a section just for Wii! Pretty neat. ^^;

Random, but did anyone see today's South Park episode where Cartman froze himself to get a Wii faster?

Ahh... so it is 70 + 30 for the wii controllers in Australia. Gay.

Oh well.

To add insult to the (small) injury, it did turn out that the Toys R Us deal was dodgy. The "free" game they're gonna give out is the "SO AWESOME" Open Season.

Grubdog Nov 2, 2006 05:53 AM

That's still not confirmed yet.

chaofan Nov 2, 2006 06:59 AM

Go to nintendo.com.au... or if you want au.wii.ign.com. You can find the confirm prices there.

NovaX Nov 2, 2006 07:04 AM

he was talking about the open season rumour.

Grubdog Nov 2, 2006 07:19 AM

Yep, apologies for the confusion. Apparently TRU are still discussing the deal and going through all their options. With all the public outcry over Open Season hopefully they give us something at least playable.

chaofan Nov 2, 2006 09:00 AM

Oops. Sorry Grubby!

In other news, there's more chances to play Wii all over Australia ala Nintendo Fusion Tours of America. Finally, Australia is being taken seriously by Nintendo. Either that, or NoAUS are actually lifting their asses up for once. I'll be a-going!

$100 for nunchuk + wiimote still hurts...
