Rioku_Zanketa Sep 2, 2006 11:30 PM

edit:ryder,I thought you weren't able to play midi on mugen!so we can?....

GAMER X Sep 2, 2006 11:36 PM

Did anyone ever make a high res testament from guilty gear x? Or kintaro from mortal kombat 2? I'm putting the finishing touches on a sweet mugen with about 256 chars and 180 or so stages (all have music too and chars have specific songs that play reguardless of the stage, MVC1 screen pack), and those 2 are the only chars i can't seem to find.

Was a high res test on that ggx mugen site posted in this thread somewhere? I deleted the link from my favorites and i can't find it in this thread.

Sky Ryder Sep 2, 2006 11:57 PM

yeah man.... ive played MIDI's on mine..... no problems at all.... you have?

OH! WOW! JUST FOUND AN EVEN BETTER SITE.... i think.... but youll have to message me for this one...

Lazyguy Sep 3, 2006 12:59 AM

nah the actual names are have shin before them and they are pretty tough. If you look for them on youtube you can probly find them. Here is a link to a shin ken fight.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4Fg0...20owns%20Devil

This guy fights all the rough characters using guile and usually wins so my hats off to him.

Doesn't "Shin" mean "New" or in some cases "mind/body"? Last time I checked I thought it meant that, although I guess it can mean a few things.

Does anyone know where a Gen (SFA) can be found? I didn't realize he was so hard to locate...I'm going through my EVE pack and categorizing everyone and totally forgot about the old guy...looking through the various places on the net I can't seem to find a place that has him still around. Tempted to get that 10,000 screenpack...the one I have now holds about 1001 which is plenty...but you can never be too sure. :)

I have SF1 Gen and SoulGen...which would pretty much be an uberized "Shin" Gen...but who knows.

Lazyguy Sep 3, 2006 01:34 AM

nah i talked to the guy who fought him in the vid posted above and said it wasnt likely that i'd find the shin characters lying around taht i'd have to make some requests and thought to start here and branch out. I supose i'll have to branch out eh.

The gen you want from sfa can be found at randomselect.com just find the link to him. If its gone bad let me know and i'll put him up.

Soldier Sep 3, 2006 01:44 AM

Any idea which screenpack this is? It copies much of the same scheme as EVE, but has the category option I'm looking for.

Yeah I checked randomselect before and to no avail :(

If you would upload him that would be a big help, if you got the time that is. I got a ton of characters too (I'm working on compiling them into a zip when I get closer to about 1000) so let me know if there are any you need. Had some friends that had some rarer ones from back in the day.

PROBLEM: Also I'm having an issue with a character I have...The Hunter Predator...whenever I select him in the character menu it gives me the following error and closes out of Mugen:

"The intstruction at "0x601c2663" referenced memory at "0x601c2663". The memory could not be "read."

Error message: Can't load phunter.air
Error loading chars/phunter/phunter.def
Error loading player 1
Library Error Message: Error in clsn2 in [Begin Action 400] elem 2
Animation error reading chars/phunter/phunter.air

Obviously its an animation error, but I'm not sure exactly how to fix it. The normal Predator (Warrior) was such an awesome character I had to have this one too. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

its dj vans eve battle screenpack available at mugen-infantry.com

Soldier Sep 3, 2006 02:35 AM

Excellent, that screenpack is exactly what I'm looking for. I only have a couple more questions, and I should have the ideal MUGEN I've been looking for.

1. How do I set it to double res 4? I didn't have to do this with EVE, but this version has a lower quality video.

2. How do I install a custom lifebar and sounds (CvS2)? I did this for EVE, but uh...I forgot how to do it. :/

3. How do I change the category names? I tried renaming a couple of them, but they wouldn't display on the screen afterwards.

lordmbison Sep 3, 2006 02:47 AM

Wooshaq I presume that with your screenpack the victory screens will be availible for all characters right? And about Shin Ken in that video, umm he didn't look evil like Shin Akuma. What gives?

Also I have a little stage request here. I've been trying to find this stage forever but the links I've been to are broken. I need Spiral's stage from X-Men: Children of the Atom.

Here's a pic: http://streetmugen.com/database-stages-23-fr.html

It's in the middle and is titled Spiral Stage.

mannafig Sep 3, 2006 02:47 AM

Dude , you gotta edit the System.SFF and maybe the System.DEF , you need to know how to work with sprite in order to modify that... (I saw you over at RandomSelect) Are you still looking for a alternate screenpack like eve battle ?

Conan-the-3rd Sep 3, 2006 04:13 AM

I think I've found the ultimate Mugen anti-theft device:

c_slides_easy Sep 3, 2006 07:37 AM

Can anyone point me in the direction of some decent tutorials for making screen packs and title screens please?

WooshaQ Sep 3, 2006 08:55 AM

I don't know if there is one, I said it thousand times: it's easiest to learn by messing around with current screenpacks. Open system.def (this is the heart of the screenpack) and system.sff (all the screenpack graphical files are stored there). Use notepad for def Fighter Factory for sff.

i had the same problem with the predator hunter and found the solution on the randomselect forums, hope this helps, he's a great char....

you'll need to run dos2win.exe in the char's directory and then do this (excerpt from the forum):

Now, if your character crash WINMUGEN when you run him (I mean, after the VS screen, WINMUGEN close and show a message saying "Begin action" many times) is because the AIR file issues. To solve this problem, simply let's run MCM (Mugen Character Maker, you can download it in Street Mugen), open the AIR file (F3) with this program and without changing nothing, let's save it in another folder. After that, move the new air file created to the orignal ubication of the old AIR file, and it's done. Now, try it choosing that character again, and you'll see that WINMUGEN don't crashes, and the character runs perfectly.

here's the link to the entire post:
randomselect.i-xcell.com/forum/index.php?topic=1879.0

by the way, i've been looking for sfa gen too but can't find him so yes, if someone could up him, that'd be awesome!

Lazyguy Sep 3, 2006 11:11 AM

Well the shin in front of the name is like saying im the master of this so shin ken is has mastered his fighting style along with ryu and chun li. Shin has multiple meanings so your all correct in a way just not the one im talking about.

Conan that anit theft thing you posted was probly the sweetest thing i've ever seen and ever creator should put it on there characters.

Bison try finding your stage here otherwise there are a bunch of other cool stages to tickle your fancy http://www.mugenarok.com.br/?categoria=STAGES

Double Post:
here is the regular street fighter alpha gen.http://rapidshare.de/files/31847518/gen.rar

for the kid who uses order sol all the time i have someone that you should fight and will probly lose against.http://rapidshare.de/files/31847842/Gouken.zip

Scorpion14 Sep 3, 2006 03:45 PM

Sorry mate I am fairly new to this so forgive my ignorance if my questions sound stupid.

1. Can you post a link to fighter factory?

2. What exactly am I supposed to edit?

If you could post a link for a decent tutorial this would be appreciated as I'm sure you have probably gone through this already at some point on this thread.

Thanks.

Scorpion14 Sep 3, 2006 03:53 PM

hey..umm WooshaQ could you up-load the SF3 char select song?? please and thanks...

Soldier Sep 3, 2006 04:18 PM

I need help using FF as well. I see directions on how to edit characters, but not how to edit the .sff file so I can put whatever category names that I want. This process is totally new to me, so I appreciate a step-by-step tutorial.

Also, how do I set the game to doubleres 4?

http://2dmirage.250free.com/tz.png

They have a Zetta character? Oh crap, what if they have any other NIS characters (Laharl!)? If anyone has any NIS characters, I'll take them no matter who it is.

http://2dmirage.250free.com/tifa-peach.png

If this is the same Tifa shown in the top picture, than forget it. Otherwise I'm curious (same with Peach).

And to complete the requests today, I'd like a bonus stage of the original Mario first level. I've seen pics and videos of it (looks like you actually move the character from the start to the end).

http://www.geocities.com/miles_tails...1/mugen165.png

This is the source for much hilarity. I must have it.

;Set this parameter to use a resolution-doubling filter. You will
