Then again, they're releasing games from the same series. In before more Golden Axe.

wvlfpvp Jul 21, 2008 09:27 PM

Yeah, but at least they aren't releasing shit that I've got in 3 separate collections for two different systems.

Lukage Jul 21, 2008 11:29 PM

Such as Golden Axe.

wvlfpvp Jul 22, 2008 12:38 PM

Well, that goes without saying.

SuperSonic Jul 28, 2008 11:02 AM

Virtual Console (US) for 7-28-08:

Chase H.Q. (TG16) - 600 points
ART OF FIGHTING 2 (NEOGEO) - 900 points

Lukage Jul 28, 2008 03:02 PM

Too bad the SNES emulator for the Homebrew isn't complete in any way. I'd have enjoyed playing actual games that people give a damn about.

FatsDomino Jul 28, 2008 03:07 PM

What are you talking about? The SNES emulator for the Wii is damn near perfect. Runs just about everything. It could use a few more features like cheat codes and stuff.

Lukage Jul 28, 2008 03:17 PM

Well shit. The one that came with the Homebrew Channel only has Wiimote support, and doesn't even have a button for X. And it also says that it has no classic controller support.

Oh, and it won't run the roms. :(

FatsDomino Jul 28, 2008 07:25 PM

Replace that piece of shit some knob bundled for you. Just go to the wiibrew wiki and download the latest official build. It supports just about all controllers and every game full speed and up to fucking four players.

Yeah, I found a site that claimed it was their project and bundled it together. Just an FYI for everyone else: Homebrew Channel Packs is what Acer is referring to.

EDIT: They've since removed the shitty emulator because they're huge faggots.

Additional Spam:
Doublepost: No I'm still right, the recommended emulator is the shitty snes9x that doesn't even map all the buttons.

chato Jul 29, 2008 11:02 PM

hmm.. I still happen to use the same SNES9X and it doesn't give me trouble. As for the roms, you have to rename them with no binaries or other characters when you first downloaded it.

Example : Earthbound0301023.smc / change to Earthbound

It's weird but its all good. Another thing I figured out abotu the saves and srm is you have to go to the rom information and these letters and numbers are shown, rename your srms to that if you want to load your original saves.

I hate that it doesn't work for the NES emu... I only hope there's an existing converter in the future so I can play Earthbound Zero on wii and not on my psp anymore =/.

Lukage Jul 30, 2008 10:17 AM

Okay, I'm using the one they have on the wiki there and when you start it, it tells you the button config and that it can't be changed. It also doesn't even have one of the buttons mapped. I'll take a fucking video of it.

Nintendonomicon Aug 3, 2008 03:16 PM

Supposedly... Megaman (NES), Samurai Shodown 2 (NeoGeo), and Ys Books I & II (TG-16) are all coming out tomorrow on the american VC...

There's gotta be some mistake... because that would be incredible!

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 3, 2008 03:40 PM

Nice how they bumped Ys I & II up to 800 points since it's 2 games. Still, I might have to get that one. I just recently got around to playing through Ys VI, and more Adol is never a bad thing.

DarkMageOzzie Aug 3, 2008 04:52 PM

Ys I & II huh? Might have to check that out. I've only ever played the one they had for the SNES.

Nah, it's just that this is a Turbografx-CD release. All Turbografx-CD games cost 800 points.

The Plane Is A Tiger Aug 3, 2008 08:44 PM

Oh, I didn't notice it was different from the other Turbografx games that were only 600 points.

wvlfpvp Aug 3, 2008 10:23 PM

Not the best version of the games, tho. According to Lentium, the Ys I&II Eternal PC versions are the best ones out there. And they've been fanslated.

SuperSonic Aug 4, 2008 11:02 AM

Virtual Console (US) for 8-4-08:

Sonic the Hedgehog (Master System) - 500 points
SPLATTERHOUSE 2 (Genesis) - 800 points

Sorry to disappoint you all, but that list looked fishy anyway. It had 3 Virtual Console releases, and we know Nintendo stopped doing that long ago.

nuttyturnip Aug 4, 2008 11:16 AM

If you don't already own Sonic the Hedgehog on some console, you don't deserve to play video games. Just give your Wii to someone who cares.

FatsDomino Aug 4, 2008 12:39 PM

What's different between the Master System and Genesis versions of Sonic the Hedgehog?

SuperSonic Aug 4, 2008 03:23 PM

First of all, if you have Sonic the Hedgehog for the Game Gear it's pretty much the same exact game for the Master System with minor color differences. There are 6 zones on here, some recurring from the Genesis game (with different layouts) like Green Hill, Labyrinth, and Scrap Brain, and some new, Bridge, Jungle, and a level that comes after Scrap Brain which I can't remember. It was in the sky though, maybe on an airship.

The chaos emeralds aren't in special stages, instead they are scattered throughout the six levels in different acts. I think this game was actually more difficult than the Genesis title.

Even if you don't have it, don't buy it on the Virtual Console. You're better off playing it on the Mega Collection Plus or on Sonic Adventure DX...or by other means.

wvlfpvp Aug 4, 2008 04:41 PM

Well, at least there's some Splatterhouse 2. Not the best game in the series (Still love the 3rd one), but there's hope.

Cheezeman3000 Aug 5, 2008 01:27 AM

Does anyone know if Japan ever got their Super Mario RPG? I don't see how it would be so hard for them to make up for the mistake that was E3 and just release some more good classics. I mean, it's been about 6 months since their last one yeah?

Sonic Adventure DX and Mega Collection both have the Game Gear one. And playing a Game Gear port of a Master System game is like eating dried up dog shit instead of meringue because from a distance they sorta looked the same.

Also I hope Nintendo never release Super Mario RPG on the US/PAL VC for lol.

"Where's mah Super Mario RPG?"
"Here are some non-Super Mario RPG games!"
"THESE AREN'T SUPER MARIO RPG"
