EGM hints Towards North America release.

Now like they said this doesn't necessarily confirm a KH2:FM+ release, but you've gotta admit that it's getting some attention from many US fans.

GRIEVER Jan 25, 2007 08:12 PM

Kingdom hearts 2 was an alright game with new features such as the drive gauge and reaction commands . But the voice actings could have been better like billy zane , david boreanaz and mandy moore not playing their roles this made the game a little less anticipating to many fans .

Kairi Li Jan 26, 2007 12:41 PM

The Lack of Billy Zane is a bit of a loss, Mena was terrible as Aeris, but dude, the guy who did Squall this time was actually BETTER than Boreanaz. And the rest of the voice acting was superb. Its only Aeris and Ansem that had a huge blow.

Oh and check www.kh2.co.uk for more images from Final Mix, including how Bonus Org 13 fights will look like in KH2 FM and along with shots of new areas.

Okay, I wanna know, how much will I miss if I dont complete the stuff for that extra ending or whatever. Jimny's (sp?) Journal is very irritating.

Pretty cool news, come March 28th there'll be a KH Complete Soundtrack Boxset. A 9 Discs retailing at 14296 Yen (on CD Japan), plus there's a first press available too (wonder what the bonus is..). The thing comes with an extended verision of KH2's OST, a complete OST to KH: CoM, KH1's OST (previously released), and some rare, unreleased tracks. Apparently the package itself will contain completely new illustrations by Nomura.

Complete box set release of music from the hit Square-Enix game series "Kingdom Hearts" announced in conjunction with the release of the upcoming game "Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix+." Box set includes an extended version of the original "Kingdom Hearts II" soundtrack (the original much fretted about by series composer Yoko Shimomura due to the shortening of many traacks), the complete, previously unreleased soundtrack to "Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories," the previously released original soundtrack to "Kingdom Hearts I," and rare, previously unreleased tracks. Package design by series director Tetsuya Nomura with new illustrations.

I couldn't agree more. She didn't really add any emotion when she spoke, it was as if she was just reading it off the page and that's it. She was that way in Advent Children to, unfortunately. Mandy Moore did a much better job, in my opinion.

I have to disagree on that. I thought Boreanaz fit Squall much better than the new guy they picked. He just didn't sound right to me, though it's been too long since I beat KH2 to remember exactly why. Mena was just painful to listen to.

As far as I know, the only thing gained is this extra video tacked onto the ending. It doesn't really contain spoilers if you're even close to the end of KH2, just a video for what is likely KH3.

Kairi Li Jan 30, 2007 05:28 PM

Boreanaz sounded bored most of the time as Squall, granted it seem like it suits the Squall from FF8, but Leon is a different man from Squall because of the different experience. The guy who replaced Boreanaz was able to emote alot better in his voice, and he sounded practically the same as him in the voice.

A fine example is comparing those flashbacks to KH1 during Roxas screnario, comparing those to the acutal scenes in KH1, I noticed that Leon was significantly better at emoting, and Billy Zane was replace by a guy that was so so.

And that complete soundtrack box set sounds AWESOME, have to order that soon.

Square Enix launched the Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix + website for Japan. It requires flash to view. http://www.square-enix.co.jp/kingdom2fm/

All the text is written in Japanese so you might not understand it, but the pictures are very interesting to say the least. Some you may have seen before, some you may have not. On the bottom right is a horn and that's the control for the music track that plays on the site. Although it's a bit short, it sounds awesome!

Vash Feb 4, 2007 01:47 AM

Ok can someone answer this burning question of mine? KH2FM voices will all be in English, but text in JP (right?) and ReCoM voices and text will both be in JP (right?)

SuperSonic Feb 4, 2007 01:49 AM

Yes, that is correct...at least for Japan. Now if it makes it to America, I would assume ReCoM would be english voices and english text but I have no clue how they'd handle KH2FM.

Kairi Li Feb 5, 2007 04:47 AM

Nomura did stated in an interview he hopes NA fans can be exposed to the JP voice acting if he is able to bring FM to NA.

thirdjean Feb 5, 2007 07:53 AM

Where can we pre-order the first limited edition of Final Mix+? The limited edition has the same price as the normal edtion, but with an extra hard-cover booklet named "Kingdom Hearts -Another Report-". The booklet includes some unreleased scenes done in forms of comic and novels. A Q&A section concerning the Kingdom Hearts series with Nomura is also included.
I've already been to Play-Asia and it doesn't seem to include this book in the package. The one in Amazon.co.jp does(and it also has a 15% discount), but it doesn't ship outside of Japan.

That was a mistranslated statement. Nomura actually said that he wanted the Japanese to be exposed to the English voices.

Anyone thinking of ripping the BGM on the KH2FM+ site?

Hantei Feb 10, 2007 12:06 AM

On the action figure front, Koto's releasing 2 more Sora figures. One is his Master Form and the other is his Wisdom Form, with both forms coming with 2 different keyblades (much like how his Valor and Final form came with 2 different keyblades). Heh, and counting them up there are actually 9 different keyblades (two different ones from each form, plus the default Keyblade you get with the standard Sora or Roxas) that've been released thus far.

Two new figures on the KHII character's Master and Wisdom forms…

Sora, the popular lead character from the Square Enix video game Kingdom Hearts II will be sporting a new look this year. At Toy Fair International, Sora’s Wisdom and Master forms of were unveiled by Kotobukiya, distributor for Square Enix. Last year Sora’s Valor and Final forms were available as a part of the Kingdom Hearts Series 1 figure set. These two new forms will feature not only a new paint scheme for Sora but also additional tooling.

Each form will include two unique Keyblades used by Sora in-game. Reaching into the arsenal of Keyblades from KHII, Square Enix has opted for some of the more visually stunning blades. There will be four new Keyblades sculpted, two for each form. On display at Toy Fair were the ‘Hidden Dragon’, ‘Circle of Life’ and ‘Follow the Wind’ blades. It is unknown at this time what the fourth blade will be.

For now, Koto is unsure how these new Sora figures will be distributed. They are looking at a number of distribution opportunities, possibly including an exclusive for this year’s San Diego Comic Con. Also planned for this year is another run of the sold-out regular Sora figures from KHII Series 1.

I haven't even seen the Series I KH2 figures anywhere. I thought Gamestop would carry a couple, but that isn't the case.

Hantei Feb 10, 2007 02:35 AM

Try your local comic shop, that's where I purchase my Play Arts + other kinds of merchandising. In fact, I thought they were only available through Diamond Comics, who then distributes their goods to comic shops.

Interrobang Feb 11, 2007 08:35 AM

That's Guardian Soul, not Hidden Dragon. </nerd>

Rayne Feb 13, 2007 05:24 PM

I gotta Question... Why are they getting a Final Mix this time? The last time was because Japan didn't get as much content as we did. Is it the same for this time? If so... I would be interested in knowing what we got that they didn't.

Interrobang Feb 14, 2007 05:48 AM

I hear Square Enix makes money when people buy their stuff. Maybe.

Grawl Feb 14, 2007 06:39 PM

I've played this game for around 12 hours now, currently at Disney Castle. I must say it doesn't bore me like KH did, and I love the cinematics and how the story processes. However, I really liked Roxas way more than Sora :(

I'm sorry... were you being sarcastic? Sometimes I can't tell...
