For future points. At all time beefi is entering a door, and Sam is free, Sam will stand to the side of the door, listening for any movement or the clicking of trap mechanisms.

So, how to get to the trapdoor? Anyone else got a rope?
I'd quite like to get there without having to leave the chain behind but it might not be possible. I figured that if I could get one end attached to the trapdoor with the grapple, Beefi could hold the other end then anyone else with a rope can chuck me one end and chuck the other end to GFZ. I reckon Slim, Sam and Garold could make the jump to that rope then shimmy along it to Beefi, then along his chain to the trapdoor, one assumes to open the thing and climb down a ladder or something underneath it. Beefi can then tie the chain round his waist and try to jump it, with the others hauling him up sharpish if he falls in and finally, GFZ can turn into water and swim it or can't he teleport anyway? I'm sure I read that in a post somewhere. Either that or we can all jump in and try to fight the fish then have a leisurely swim to the exit. |

I think we've all either got acrobatics or athletics trained and the platform to platform jump isn't more than two or three squares so we could probably just all leap over starting if we started with the closest people so the ones farther away have some clear middle points.

I can breathe underwater, and Swiftcurrent without any sort of negative effects due to terrain... but if those fishies liek to eat people, I ain't jumpin in.

Couldn't hurt anything to go ahead and lay out the ropes. I'm not sure how many can stand on one platform at a time so we'll need to make sure just moving on is the plan before we end up with half the party stuck down the whole and the rest still spread out over several platforms.

So, the online Character Builder is live on vecna.wizards.com. I've read reports of intermittent crashes and that not everything that should be there is there. And also that it's slow. And that you can only make 2 characters.
But then, this could be coming from some disgruntled former pirates. How's your own experience so far, Pang? |
Well, it depends on what you mean by "things that should be there". Functions like export were known to be absent in the initial release.
Crashes? Well, uh, it just locked up when I tried to import Samwise. Hrm. Oh, it tried to auto-recover Sam when I re-launched. So that's nice. Still locks up trying to import him, though; everyone else imported without trouble. Probably his houseruled gun causing the issue. 2 characters only is definitely not the case, I'm not going to sit here importing guys all night but from what I've heard the current cap is supposed to be 20. Slow? Maybe. It's a little sluggish for me, but then again Verizon throttled my connection a week ago and I've been wrestling with them about it since so my speeds are spotty at the best of times anyway. Plus the site is probably getting hammered right now compared to how busy it'll be under a normal load. Who knows. |
Some people were moaning about themes (don't know what they are honestly), math decomposition of to-hits and damage figures (never used them really), boons (doubt we'll have them anyway), and among others, wonky hybrid support (no hybrids this game), missing gear and inherent bonuses not being implemented (which may affect the current game).

Pang, just so I know before I do something really retarded, is there any chance whatsoever of Beefi making the jump to the hatch?

Actually, yeah. Beefi's got a very high Athletics and he only needs to clear 3 squares to reach the hatch, so an 18 or better would get him there.
It's not great odds but it's conceivable. |
