I'm tempted to remove you from this thread. =/

Noone uses Jigglypuff? Pshaw. I'd kick your ass all over town.

Darkcomet72 Jun 25, 2006 03:11 PM

What.

Jigglypuff is one of the highest ranked characters in competetive play. While I cannot speak much for her since I rarely use her, I believe actions speak louder than words.

Also, Flint for SSBB

I want AI that can be much smarter.

I think and interesting way to accomplish something like this would be to have AI settings. I think it would neat to set the opponent to, say, "counter" and they would work hard not to attack, but to attack while defending, always trying to have the advantage.

Jigglypuff is an "it." And there are people that use it. I know a few guys that have become quite good with Jigglypuff. Also, a large number of people relied on Jigglypuff for Event Stage 51. I would drop Mewtwo or Pichu. And Banjo/Kazooie isn't a viable option. Rare owns the rights, and it's in contract with Microsoft. And what would Toad do? Run in circles? From my experience, Toad has no attacking capacity. He's too fearful, too pacifistic.

Yeah, he'd get eaten alive by savage and bloodthirsty monsters like Peach, Mr. Game and Watch, and Ice Climbers.

At any rate, weaker/lower tier characters in fighting games are more likely to be tweaked in the sequel than dropped entirely.

That's completely different. The direction Fox's attack goes in is entirely your choice, whereas this supposed stinger attack only would attack downwards. Using your logic, Snake's stinger attack would have to go in any direction. In any case I highly doubt that'll be his Up+B move.

No, they have genders. White Jigglypuffs are male and pink ones are female. That's how I always pictured it.

Dalkaen Jun 25, 2006 08:08 PM

When they originally included Jigglypuff in SSB, they hadn't introduced the gender system in Pokemon. So I think it's probably safe to say that this Jigglypuff doesn't have a specific gender as of yet.

FatsDomino Jun 26, 2006 12:09 AM

That's not true. They have a Pokemon in the original games that has two sexes. However, most Pokemon don't have a sex as you've stated so you really wouldn't be wrong if you called one that doesn't have a specified sex a him or a her or a it.

Does anyone remember Missingo? I'd really like to know the story on this pokemon. Was it a real pokemon or a glitch?

scotty Jun 26, 2006 11:34 AM

Missingno was a glitch in the game, it wasn't an actual pokemon.

Yes, that would be great. Especially in the situations like getting a Hammer and having the characters go to the other side and just stand by each other. It was pathetic. I expected them to be doing things like throwing each other at the character with the hammar or at least still fighting (They atleast did it when Bullet Bill came to Peach's Castle and I wish they'd do the same situation when "Hammer Time" comes up).

It was a glitch, as was Mew.

You needed to use a Game Genie to unlock him, for one thing, then you had to have a Water pokemon (I used Lapras), and a specific move (Surf, I think it was) so that you could move around in water. And then, you had to move up and down ONE specific column in one specific screen, and that was the ONLY time either Missingno or Mew appeared.

Oh, and it would also randomly glitch out to give you 99 of whatever was in your sixth item slot. 99 Master Balls ahoy~

Jesus FUCKING Christ. This discussion has brought out the inner Pokemon fanatic in me. You know, the one that was a fan of the show and also could name all 151 of them?

I hate you all. T_T

You didn't need a game genie, everything else was right though. You had to fly to pallet town, talk to some old man by the beach, go to the Island with the fire gym, surf up and down the east coast of the island and you come across it. If you catch it, it will screw up your game. It was usually just a regular pokemon but screwd up

WraithTwo Jun 26, 2006 05:42 PM

Also, around the time that Ruby/Sapphire came out, a method of obtaining Mew without glitching or game shark aid was found. I actually did it shortly after hearing about it for confirmation (even though many reliable members of the Pokemon community had already said that it was legit), and it DOES work, allowing you to capture a lvl 7 Mew.

I don't get it.

Anyways, on topic again, Have we gotten any information oustide of new characters? New Items/Stages perhaps? New Single Player information maybe? All I know is that the huge Nintendog and the superpower pickup is there.

scotty Jun 26, 2006 08:25 PM

Oh, I understand! J-Man wants Jennifer Aniston to be a new character for Brawl!

Dalkaen Jun 26, 2006 11:02 PM

Pfft, it's pretty obvious what he means with the image.

And about new stages, what have you, it's possible that that an Akaneia stage will be included. They intended to include it in SSBM, but ran out of disc space, I think? Maybe they just ran out of time. It was a setting from the first Fire Emblem game on the NES, I believe.

Thank God the system still works! :lolsign:

J-Man Jul 3, 2006 11:38 AM

Since nobody has even posted here in a week, I shall begin the dicussion of whether or not you (the GFFrs) want the trophy system back.

Personally, I liked the system at first, but grew to hate it when I learned that I had to play 100 coin matches to get them all.

What are your thoughts?

Acro-nym Jul 3, 2006 02:07 PM

I would only want the trophy system back if two things occur:

We would actually want all of the trophies (I'm sure there are plenty of bad trophy ideas they could use--I don't want those).

The trophy slot machine option disappears after all of the trophies from that machine have been collected.

shadowlink56 Jul 3, 2006 08:03 PM

I agree with above, but I'd also want them to include all of the trophies for both Japan and USA, as two trophies (Samus w/o helmet and Mario & Yoshi) weren't available here and could only be grabbed from stations set up in game stores in Japan.
Why didn't they make them unlockable here?
Anyway, I'm big on collectables whether in game or out. Perhaps you've seen my site?

PsychoJosh Jul 5, 2006 09:27 PM

How about Earthworm Jim? :lolsign:
