Don't be silly! Of course is going to come over here!

So it's like...:
Nintendo - 800 Wii Points
SquareEnix - 100 Wii Point
Total = 900 Wii Points

This might be the ONLY game I'll buy even though I still have the SNES cart and/or I could "download" it for free. >_>

Chaotic May 30, 2008 07:54 PM

I don't doubt that it would come here, but HOLY SHIT, we're finally getting it!

Sousuke May 30, 2008 08:06 PM

Now all we need is Earthbound. :3

wvlfpvp May 30, 2008 10:10 PM

No, all we need is Terranigma. Earthbound + Mother would be a nice second.

Cheezeman3000 May 31, 2008 01:25 AM

YES!!!!! I haven't played this since I had it on the SNES so long ago. Soon I will relive one of my favorite memories as a child.

Lukage May 31, 2008 06:56 PM

The excitement is in Phantasy Star 4. That means they'll release 1, right? No wait, they're Nintendo, so we'll only get 2, 3, 4.

wvlfpvp May 31, 2008 07:35 PM

According to wiki, Earthbound has an E rating.

I stand corrected. Terranigma would be an awesome addition.

Well it's Monday again and this week's Virtual Console release in the US are two import titles for the NES, both for 600 points:

Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa
Dig Dug

Wait a minute...the first Dig Dug for the NES was never released in America? Wow, I can't believe that.

nuttyturnip Jun 9, 2008 01:16 PM

You have to love Nintendo, charging us extra for a title that is available in loads of other places (including XBLA) for cheaper.

Infernal Monkey Jun 13, 2008 07:16 AM

Twelve years later, PAL regions are finally getting Super Mario's Final Fantasy - Dancing with the Seven Stars.

chato Jun 16, 2008 07:31 AM

This week's our lovable fighting game , Samurai Showdown 1. Since part 2 is already posted , I'll just wait for that one.

WiiWare : Block Breaker Deluxe and Cocoto Fishing Master.

Cheezeman3000 Jun 16, 2008 04:15 PM

Nintendo's making it easy for me to not spend money on downloads.

wvlfpvp Jun 16, 2008 04:30 PM

yeah, pretty much waiting on US rerease of SMRPGSOTSS.

Despite owning cart.

SuperSonic Jun 23, 2008 11:11 AM

This week on Virtual Console US (6/23):

Alex Kidd in Miracle World (Master System) 500 points
BURNING FIGHT (NEOGEO) 900 points

Gyrostar(WiiWare) 700 points

Have fun people!

I can understand if all the third party companies are being bitches about licensing games for the VC, but surely Nintendo could do better than this. Sales can't be so low as to justify such sluggish releases. Nintendo only has to wait on themselves to give us, say, Earthbound.

FatsDomino Jun 23, 2008 01:20 PM

You could just install the Homebrew Channel and forget the Virtual Console ever existed. No mod chips required. Takes under a minute. You just need a computer to transfer a few things to an SD card. Easiest thing ever.

The unmovable stubborn Jun 23, 2008 01:22 PM

So your contribution to the Virtual Console thread is "stop using the Virtual Console"?

...Megalith?

SuperSonic Jun 23, 2008 02:53 PM

I just think we're sick of Nintendo not giving us the quality Virtual Console releases we know it can give us. Earthbound, Terranigma, Secret of Mana...I've never played any of those games but I can relate with the fact that I look forward to the VC releases every Monday only to be disappointed.

My Super Nintendo died a month ago and I wanted to send it to Nintendo for repair. Here's the message they give you:

Due to the age of the system, we are unable to offer factory repair directly from Nintendo.

Although factory repair is no longer available, finding a replacement of your older product may still be a possibility, as some stores and auction sites offer used products. Click here to read some tips on where to start.

You also may want to consider purchasing one of Nintendo's latest systems, such as a the Nintendo DS or Wii. These systems come with a one-year warranty, and allow you to play the hottest new games available. In fact, if you're into the old-school retro games, you might be interested to know that many of our classic NES, SNES, and N64 titles are reappearing as titles for Nintendo's newer systems. To learn more about Nintendo systems, visit Country Selector at Nintendo.

I went to a pawn shop a week later and bought a used SNES for $50, even though they tried to sell me the FC Twin. Nintendo, you're just begging us to go about emulation aren't you?

Many of the classic games are reappearing on the newer systems, huh? I'm guessing 11 pages of Virtual Console titles count as many. Don't get me wrong, there are classic titles on there but not everyone is going to be happy about it.

Yes Pang.

I stopped caring a long time ago. I've spent probably over 200 bucks on Virtual Console crap (And on games I already own too) so it's not like I haven't given them any money for their overpriced roms at all now is it? Basically unless something really cool shows up on the VC I won't be buying anything from it until they release Earthbound.

Nintendo made me lose interest in supporting the VC a very long time ago with their piss poor releases. The amount of effort it takes them to fit the game data into an emulation container along with a manual is so minimal it's not even funny. There really isn't an excuse for the little amount of games we get nor the little quality that is in each release per week. It's not like they even offer the incentive of translating foreign games that never made it over here (they barely translate menus), or add online multiplayer or additional levels and such that you find in XBLA.

So yes, unless you want to get Nintendo's attention in buying one particular title along with a bunch of people be it Earthbound or Sin & Punishment or whatever I'd advise using the Homebrew Channel instead and spending your money in much better places.

Slash Jun 23, 2008 06:37 PM

I gotta agree with you there. When they first announced the VC, I was incredibly excited. Now maybe i was a lil stupid and thought Nintendo would've been smart enough to start hammering out awesome games for the VC and leave the shit that sold nothing off of it. But I was wrong.

I mean, I did get some stuff for VC, like Final Fight and F-Zero but those were mostly nostalgia purchases.

I think the one game I bought that I didn't own was Sin and Punishment. I guess Mario Kart 64 is included but I'm regretting that purchase.

Lukage Jun 23, 2008 07:00 PM

Even if they released a game from a different series (I'm looking at you, Golden Axe. Get the fuck out of here) once in a while, it wouldn't be so troublesome.

Nintendo gave up. Expect the same crap here on out in between PS2 ports. The DS is the only thing they haven't given a deep-dicking.

wvlfpvp Jun 23, 2008 11:40 PM

The problem with this is that JAPAN GETS GOOD THINGS FOR SOME REASON. WHAT THE HELL NINTENDO.

Also, Alex Kidd is for Happy Making. Why isn't anyone being all HOLY SHIT about this?

I was having a toss over it the other day, I can't type at the same time, so my word-based joy was delayed. :(

Alex Kidd in the Fuckin' Miracle World!

It's kind of telling that they don't even have the original Starfox up on Virtual Console. I strongly suspect it's because they can't be assed to properly code an FX chip emulator. Couldn't they just borrow the code from SNES9X?
